CRITICAL: NEVER ಅವತಾರ — highly salient for readers formed by coastal Karnataka’s Haridasa Krishna-bhakti tradition (centered at Udupi). Note a different risk for Lingayat-background readers, who themselves reject avatar theology: they may instead be tempted to receive Christ as an exceptionally realized human teacher (a Sharana figure who attained Aikya) rather than the eternal, uncreated Son who took on flesh once.
