This doctrine carries unusually concrete, recent political weight in Nepal, whose Shah-dynasty kings were venerated as living avatars of Vishnu until the monarchy’s 2008 abolition. देहधारण must be taught as a unique, once-for-all act of divine self-disclosure, not a repeatable royal or divine descent.
