Intercession

Catholic Hungarian piety includes saints’ and Marian intercession; Hungarian Reformed tradition historically and polemically rejected this practice during the Reformation and holds to direct access to God through Christ alone. Romans 8:26-27, 34 describe the Spirit’s and Christ’s direct intercession, which aligns closely with the Reformed reading and should be taught with sensitivity to Catholic readers, for whom this may register as a corrective rather than a neutral description.
