Calling
CRITICAL: Hungarian Reformed theology has a specific, technical Calvinist category, ‘ellenállhatatlan kegyelem/elhívás’ (irresistible grace/calling), taught in Hungarian Reformed seminaries (Debrecen, Sárospatak). Catholic theology holds a synergistic view in which grace can be resisted. Romans 8:28-30’s ‘called’ language will be read through fundamentally different systematic lenses by these two audiences; translate to Paul’s actual claim rather than either full system.
