HIGH RISK: ‘vocazione’ in Italian Catholic culture overwhelmingly connotes a call to priesthood or religious life, a live and salient category given Italy’s dense concentration of Catholic religious orders. Use ‘chiamata’ for Paul’s calling-of-every-believer language; reserve ‘vocazione’ only for segments explicitly about priestly/religious-life calling.
