Righteousness

CRITICAL: ‘giustizia di Dio’ (Romans 1:17) must be read as God’s saving, gift-status righteousness. Italian ‘giustizia’ overwhelmingly denotes the legal/judicial system in everyday secular usage (il sistema della giustizia), an even more court-coded default than French ‘justice’, requiring deliberate catechesis against a purely retributive reading.
