امت (ommat) is the loaded pan-Islamic community term and must never substitute. Because Persian-language congregational worship for Muslim-background believers is heavily restricted in Iran, the lived reality of ‘church’ for most Persian speakers today is the underground house-church network, not a building - teach kelisa with that reality in view, not a physical-institution default.
