Week ending 7/26
Executive summary
This week's focus shifted from raw content-generation scale to platform infrastructure: an account menu, a Projects page, a Teams page, and a new Translation Studio hub with private per-workspace storage all shipped, alongside the platform's first Platform Administrator dashboard for cross-workspace oversight. Translation Studio's login, built on the OAuth and MFA authentication shipped earlier this month, is what will bring ministry partners and volunteers together in one place. The pipeline kept moving too — seven more languages (Arabic, Bengali, English, French, Hindi, Hmong, and Portuguese) completed a full Old Testament this week, bringing the total with both Testaments complete to 10, up from 3.
What's new
-
Change
Seven more languages — Arabic, Bengali, English, French, Hindi, Hmong, and Portuguese — completed a full Old Testament this week (Hmong completed its New Testament the same week). Ten languages now have both Testaments complete, up from 3.
Impact
The Library's fully-covered-language count more than tripled this week, its clearest depth milestone since the New Testament push two weeks ago.
Next action
Route the new round of Critical- and High-risk doctrine flags to reviewers.
-
Change
Shipped an account menu, an expanded Profile page, a Projects page, and a Teams page for logged-in users.
Impact
Users can now manage their own identity, translation projects, and team membership directly on the platform instead of through ad hoc requests.
Next action
Watch adoption of Projects and Teams once ministry partners start using them.
-
Change
Launched the Translation Studio hub with a collapsible workspace sidebar and private per-workspace document storage, built on the OAuth and MFA login shipped earlier this month.
Impact
Each workspace now has its own private place to store and organize documents, and a real login ministry partners and volunteers can share, a prerequisite for real partner-facing document translation work.
Next action
Onboard the first partner workspace onto private storage.
-
Change
Shipped a Platform Administrator dashboard covering workspaces, projects, requests, workspace members, and volunteer submissions, plus a recent cross-platform activity feed.
Impact
The team can now see and manage the whole platform from one place instead of querying the database directly.
Next action
Grant Platform Administrator access to whoever will use it day to day.
-
Change
Replaced the "Let us serve you" and "Join our team" Google Forms with in-page, database-backed forms, and added an interactive World Languages & Religion Explorer map to the homepage.
Impact
Partner and volunteer leads now land directly in our own database instead of a separate Google Form export, and visitors can explore language and religious context for any country before reaching out.
Next action
Review the first batch of partner and volunteer submissions arriving through the new forms.
-
Change
A production database migration failed when a new uniqueness constraint hit pre-existing duplicate data; diagnosed and self-healed with a corrected migration the same day.
Impact
No downtime — the previous deploy stayed live throughout — but it is the second deploy-time incident in two weeks tied to the platform's growing data footprint.
Next action
Add a pre-deploy data-integrity check for new constraints before they reach production.
Business impact
Workspaces, Teams, and the Translation Studio hub turn the platform from a single shared tool into something a ministry partner can actually organize their own work inside, with private document storage and a first real admin control plane behind it. Ten languages now having a complete Bible is real progress toward global reach, but it also means seven more languages' worth of new doctrine flags now need reviewer attention on top of last week's backlog.

Risks
A database migration deploy failed in production this week when a new uniqueness constraint collided with pre-existing duplicate data; it was diagnosed and self-healed the same day with no downtime, but it is the second build or deploy incident in as many weeks tied directly to the platform's growing surface area.
Decisions needed
Leadership: confirm whether the review-capacity plan requested last week for Critical/High doctrine flags is being staffed, since flagged content grew again this week across seven newly Full-Bible languages.
Next Week
- Staff or explicitly deprioritize doctrine-flag review capacity for the now 10 Full-Bible languages
- Onboard a first real partner workspace onto Translation Studio's private storage
