Son Of God
CRITICAL: the Quran twice states directly that Allah ‘does not beget nor is He begotten’ (112:3) and that it is not befitting for Allah to have a son (19:35). This is the single most contested phrase in Christian-Muslim relations. ‘الحبيب من الله’ (‘the Beloved of God’) is the actual rendering used by some Muslim-idiom Bible translations to avoid offense; it is explicitly rejected here as a dilution that erases the eternal ontological sonship Romans 1:3-4 argues for. Retain the full phrase; do not substitute a softened relational title.
