الرسول is Muhammad’s own defining title in the shahada (Rasul Allah) - the single most claimed prophetic office in Islam. Applying it to Paul is linguistically correct and predates Islam in Christian Arabic usage, but readers may reflexively measure Paul’s apostleship against Muhammad’s finality claim. Notes must distinguish the NT office (authorized eyewitness of the risen Christ, delegated to found and teach the church) from the Islamic prophetic office.
