Established CUV term, literally ‘blessing-news’. Because 福 (fú, fortune/blessing) is the same root used in folk fortune-seeking language (see 恩典/grace notes on 祈福文化), teaching must make explicit that 福音 announces salvation through Christ, not an omen of coming luck. 好消息/喜讯 are generic and lose the technical theological weight.
