CRITICAL: NEVER use 解脱 (jiětuō) — Buddhist liberation from the cycle of samsara/suffering, the rough functional equivalent of Hindu moksha. NEVER use 超度 (chāodù) — a Buddhist/Daoist ritual rite performed by monks to release a dead person’s soul from suffering in the underworld; salvation in Romans is God’s act toward the living believer, not a posthumous rite. 救恩 = deliverance from sin’s guilt and God’s wrath through Christ, received by faith in this life.
