Son Of God
CRITICAL: NEVER use 天子 (‘Son of Heaven’) — the historic title of the Chinese emperor, whose legitimacy rested on the Mandate of Heaven, a political-religious office rather than eternal deity. Rendering Christ as a kind of 天子 would reduce his unique, eternal Sonship to an especially favored ruler. Full phrase 神的儿子 required; never abbreviate to 神人 (‘divine man’), which suggests a deified human rather than the eternal Son.
