Somali clan culture has a real, positive parallel: sheegad, the customary practice of incorporating an outsider into a clan lineage for protection and belonging. This is a genuine teaching bridge, but sheegad status is sometimes viewed socially as less secure than birth lineage; this curriculum’s phrase adds carruurnimo (‘full child-status’) to make clear believers receive complete, equal inheritance rights, not a lesser incorporated status.
