Adoption

Traditional Korean adoption (양자, historically adopting a male heir when no biological son existed) was primarily instrumental — its central purpose was continuing the family’s Confucian ancestor-memorial rites (제사, jesa), not primarily relational belonging. Biblical adoption brings a believer INTO God’s family for relationship and full inheritance; teaching must clarify this is not a rite-continuation duty but a relational gift.
