Church

Dêr is the established word for a church building (Kurdistan has ancient Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac Christian heritage); ‘Civata Mesîhî’ (Messianic community) is needed for the NT sense of the gathered people, not a building. Religious freedom varies significantly across the four states Kurdish spans - somewhat greater in Iraqi Kurdistan, much more restricted in Iran, Syria, and Turkey - so this doctrine needs region-aware framing.
