Holy Spirit
Standard and unambiguous personal third Person of the Trinity. As with Romanian, Greek Orthodox theology rejects the Filioque (the Spirit proceeding from the Father alone), a controversy in which Greek-speaking Byzantine theologians (notably Photius) played the central historical role. Romans itself does not address procession directly, but translators should avoid trinitarian phrasing elsewhere in the curriculum presuming the Filioque as settled.
