Same root as χάρις (grace). Spirit-given enablements for the whole church per Romans 12, not to be confused with the modern secular use of ‘χάρισμα’ for natural talent or personal charisma (e.g. ‘έχει χάρισμα στην ομιλία,’ ‘he has a gift for public speaking’).
