CRITICAL: امت carries the loaded pan-Islamic community sense and must never substitute. In much of the Pashto-speaking world, especially under Taliban rule in Afghanistan, there is essentially no legal or public space for an identifiable ‘church’ building at all; this doctrine must be taught with a persecuted, dispersed, often secret community in view.
