Doctrine Analysis
Doctrine Analysis — Revelation (Full-Book Matrix)
Purpose
This document is the full doctrine matrix for the Revelation curriculum, spanning chapters 1–22. It is generated to be fully consistent with doctrine_risk_registry.json (version 1): same 30 doctrines, same names, same risk tiers. It exists so that Phase 2 translators and reviewers can see, for every doctrine, (a) exactly which chapters and passages of Revelation carry it, (b) why the tier was assigned, (c) the specific translation risk driving that tier, and (d) which review lane it is routed to. The core passage (Revelation 21:1-8) anchors several Critical-tier doctrines (New Heaven and New Earth, Grace and the Free Gift in the New Creation, Judgment of the Wicked, Assurance of God’s Final Victory) but is never treated as the boundary of analysis — every chapter of the book is represented below.
Risk Tier Definitions (inherited from baseline, unchanged)
| Tier | Definition | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|
| Critical | Mistranslation alters or destroys essential doctrine | Human theologian, every occurrence |
| High | Mistranslation creates significant theological confusion or syncretism risk | Human theologian |
| Medium | Mistranslation reduces clarity but preserves essential meaning | Native speaker review |
| Low | Mistranslation causes minor misunderstanding or imprecision | Automated review |
Full Doctrine Matrix
| # | Doctrine | Chapters | Supporting Passages (Revelation) | Risk | Translation Risk Summary | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | The Return and Reign of Christ | 1, 11, 19, 20, 22 | 1:7; 11:15; 19:11-16; 20:4-6; 22:7; 22:20 | Critical | 萬王之王萬主之主 and related titles risk being heard as political commentary in Hong Kong’s sovereignty-sensitive climate, or as endorsing/opposing a “dragon throne” (龍椅) imperial succession; must stay purely doctrinal, personal, bodily, and future. | Human theologian |
| 2 | The Sovereignty of God over History | 1, 4, 10, 16, 21 | 1:8; 4:8-11; 10:7; 16:17; 21:6 | High | 全能者 must not soften into “a supreme deity among many,” as with the Jade Emperor (玉皇大帝) atop the folk pantheon; God’s total, exclusive governance of history must not be diluted to first-among-equals. | Human theologian |
| 3 | Deity and Eternality of Christ | 1, 5, 19, 22 | 1:17-18; 5:5-14; 19:13; 22:13 | Critical | The Alpha-and-Omega self-designation shared identically by God and Christ must never be softened; risk of Christ being received as merely a powerful spirit-being comparable to a temple deity rather than co-eternal, co-equal God. | Human theologian |
| 4 | Son of Man Christology | 1, 14 | 1:13; 14:14 | High | 人子 must be kept visually and lexically distinct from the baseline’s 神嘅兒子 (Son of God); conflating the two titles either demotes Christ’s deity or flattens the Danielic authority-in-human-form nuance. | Human theologian |
| 5 | Lordship of Christ | 17, 19, 22 | 17:14; 19:16; 22:20 | Critical | Reuses the Romans-baseline Lordship doctrine exactly; every occurrence must stay doctrinal and never be read as endorsing or opposing any specific earthly political authority. | Human theologian |
| 6 | Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution | 1, 2, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 21 | 1:9; 2:10; 6:9-11; 7:14; 11:3-13; 12:11; 13:10; 21:7-8 | High | 見證 must carry costly, sometimes fatal weight, not casual “personal testimony sharing”; 忍耐 must be distinguished from stoic self-cultivation or face-saving endurance idiom (忍/義氣 cluster), since biblical endurance is hope-fueled, not self-mastery for its own sake. | Human theologian |
| 7 | Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the Saints | 6, 14, 16, 19, 20, 21 | 6:16-17; 14:9-11; 16:1-21; 19:20; 20:11-15; 21:8 | Critical | Must be distinguished from the multi-layered, often temporary/purgatorial Buddhist hell cosmology (十八層地獄) and from impersonal karmic retribution (報應); this is a final, non-cyclical divine verdict, not a purification stage. | Human theologian |
| 8 | Vindication of the Saints | 6, 7, 20 | 6:9-11; 7:9-17; 20:4 | High | Martyrs’ souls at rest under God’s altar must be distinguished from folk “wandering/hungry ghosts” (孤魂野鬼) requiring appeasement (a Ghost Festival/盂蘭節 concept); vindication is God’s justice, not ritual placation by the living. | Human theologian |
| 9 | Death and Hades Defeated | 1, 6, 20, 21 | 1:18; 6:8; 20:13-14; 21:4 | Critical | 陰間 collides directly with the folk ancestral/underworld realm central to Ghost Festival and ancestor-hall (祠堂) veneration; must be taught as a temporary realm under Christ’s sovereign authority, finally destroyed — not a parallel spirit-world needing descendant ritual maintenance. | Human theologian |
| 10 | Book of Life and Final Judgment | 3, 13, 17, 20, 21 | 3:5; 13:8; 17:8; 20:12-15; 21:27 | Critical | Direct collision with the folk “register of life and death” (生死簿) kept by underworld officials (判官, 閻羅王), popularly alterable by bribery, ritual offerings, or merit (功過); God’s book cannot be bribed or ritually altered — entry is by grace through the Lamb’s blood. | Human theologian |
| 11 | The New Heaven and New Earth | 21, 22 | 21:1; 21:3; 21:5; 22:3 | Critical | Must be distinguished from Daoist immortal-paradise realms (蓬萊仙島, 仙境); this is a renewed, physical, earth-affirming creation to which God himself comes down, not an ethereal upward escape from matter. | Human theologian |
| 12 | New Jerusalem and God’s Dwelling with His People | 3, 21 | 3:12; 21:2-3; 21:10-27 | High | Must preserve the downward direction of the text (the city descends to renewed earth); resist any escapist upward-only reading; twelve gates/foundations signal Old-and-New-Covenant continuity. | Human theologian |
| 13 | The Church as Bride of Christ | 19, 21, 22 | 19:7-9; 21:2; 21:9; 22:17 | Critical | 新婦 must not be reduced to a romantic metaphor or read through Chinese betrothal/dowry customs (聘金, 嫁妝); it names the whole redeemed people presented to Christ in consummated covenant union, purity given by God, not self-earned. | Human theologian |
| 14 | Worship of the Lamb | 4, 5, 7, 15 | 4:8-11; 5:6-14; 7:9-12; 15:3-4 | Critical | 敬拜 must be sharply distinguished from Hong Kong temple-worship practice (拜神/拜佛/拜祖先 at Wong Tai Sin, Man Mo Temple, household ancestor altars, Guanyin devotion); exclusive homage to God and the Lamb alone; 羔羊 must never be diluted to generic livestock or zodiac-animal reference. | Human theologian |
| 15 | Exclusivity of Worship and the Sin of Idolatry | 9, 13, 14, 21, 22 | 9:20; 13:4-8; 14:9-11; 21:8; 22:15 | Critical | 拜偶像嘅人 touches household veneration of deity statues and ancestral tablets common among believers’ own extended families; requires pastoral sensitivity without softening the text’s exclusion of divided worship. | Human theologian |
| 16 | Occult Practice and Sorcery | 9, 18, 21, 22 | 9:20-21; 18:23; 21:8; 22:15 | Critical | 行邪術嘅人 collides with widely practiced Hong Kong customs: fortune-telling (算命), feng shui consultation (睇風水), spirit-medium consultation (問米), temple fortune-sticks (求籤); needs non-alarmist pastoral framing. | Human theologian |
| 17 | Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation | 1, 7, 13, 16, 17, 20 | 1:1; 7:4; 13:18; 16:16; 17:5; 20:2-7 | High | Numbers, names, images must be taught per the book’s own symbolic genre, not flattened into literal arithmetic or Chinese numerology/omen culture; 666 deliberately inverts the auspicious “smooth” number 6 (六六大順). | Human theologian |
| 18 | Cosmic Conflict: the Dragon and Satan | 12, 20 | 12:1-17; 20:1-3; 20:7-10 | Critical | 龍 is China’s preeminent auspicious symbol (imperial authority, “descendants of the dragon” 龍的傳人, dragon dance/boat festivals) yet Revelation identifies this figure as Satan, wholly evil and doomed; must repeatedly clarify this is the text’s own identification of a specific cosmic enemy, not a verdict on Chinese dragon symbolism generally. | Human theologian |
| 19 | The Beast and False Worship | 13, 14, 16, 19, 20 | 13:1-18; 14:9-11; 16:2; 19:20; 20:4 | Critical | 獸 must never carry a neutral “wild animal” connotation; 獸嘅印記 must be distinguished from feng shui talismans, temple amulets (符), or protective lucky charms (護身符) — it signifies allegiance to the beast, not protection. | Human theologian |
| 20 | Babylon and Worldly Systems | 14, 17, 18 | 14:8; 17:1-18; 18:1-24 | High | This symbolic name (likely coded for Rome originally) must not be taught as a literal end-times prediction about modern Iraq/Babylon; the merchant critique (18:11-19) is idolatrous commerce entangled with the beast’s system, not commerce as such, given Hong Kong’s commercial identity. | Native speaker review |
| 21 | The Millennium and Eschatological Timeline | 20 | 20:1-10 | High | A doctrinally contested period (premill/amill/postmill); Cantonese rendering must stay literal and interpretively neutral, embedding no single scheme into the wording itself. | Human theologian |
| 22 | Assurance of God’s Final Victory over Evil | 11, 12, 20, 21, 22 | 11:15; 12:11; 20:10; 21:1-8; 22:3-5 | Critical | Assurance rests on Christ’s already-accomplished victory and God’s unchanging sovereignty, not on an ongoing vow-and-favor exchange that could lapse — the same collision the baseline documents for grace versus Wong Tai Sin’s transactional “whatever you ask, you shall receive.” | Human theologian |
| 23 | Grace and the Free Gift in the New Creation | 21, 22 | 21:6; 22:17 | Critical | ”Without payment” (免費/唔使錢) reinforces the baseline’s grace-not-merit doctrine; must sharply contrast with Wong Tai Sin’s vow-and-offering exchange and the Daoist immortality elixir (仙丹/長生不老藥) sought through spiritual cultivation. | Human theologian |
| 24 | Covenant Continuity and Unity of God’s People | 5, 7, 11, 21 | 5:9; 7:9; 11:19; 21:12-14 | High | Reuses the baseline’s Unity of Jews and Gentiles / Universal Scope doctrines; must retain full unqualified universality across “every tribe, tongue, people, nation” without privileging any group or importing clan/local-hierarchy framing familiar from Pearl River Delta lineage culture. | Human theologian |
| 25 | Kingdom of God and Political Neutrality | 11, 19 | 11:15; 19:16 | Critical | Must be taught as a purely doctrinal, exclusive claim about Christ’s cosmic reign at his return — never endorsing/opposing any earthly regime; distinguish God’s throne (寶座) from the imperial “dragon throne” (龍椅). | Human theologian |
| 26 | Sanctification and Holiness of the Church | 19, 21, 22 | 19:8; 21:27; 22:11 | High | Reuses the baseline’s sanctification doctrine; the Bride’s purity/adornment (“the righteous deeds of the saints,” 19:8) is granted by God, not self-achieved merit, contrasting with temple vow-fulfillment (還神還願) or self-cultivation (修煉). | Human theologian |
| 27 | Prayer and Heavenly Worship Response | 5, 6, 8 | 5:8; 6:9-10; 8:3-4 | Medium | Incense is purely symbolic imagery for prayers already heard by God through Christ; must be distinguished from temple incense-burning ritual practice (燒香拜神/拜祖先) where the smoke itself is believed to carry petitions. | Native speaker review |
| 28 | Divine Inspiration and Prophecy | 1, 10, 19, 22 | 1:1-3; 10:7; 19:10; 22:18-19 | Medium | Reuses the baseline’s Inspiration of Scripture/Fulfillment of Prophecy doctrines; distinguish from divination texts, temple fortune-sticks (求籤), and almanac culture (老黃曆). | Native speaker review |
| 29 | Repentance amid Judgment | 2, 3, 9, 16 | 2:5; 2:16; 2:21-22; 3:3; 3:19; 9:20-21; 16:9-11 | Medium | Genuine change of heart and direction, not superficial ritual regret or a temple confession practice; repentance remains the door of escape God offers throughout the book, even amid catastrophic judgment. | Native speaker review |
| 30 | Thanksgiving and Eschatological Blessing | 1, 14, 16, 19, 20, 22 | 1:3; 14:13; 16:5-7; 19:1-6; 20:6; 22:7; 22:14 | Medium | The 福 root is already flagged for Hong Kong commercial-prosperity-culture collision (恭喜發財); “blessed” (有福嘅) must be taught as eschatological covenant favor, not fortune or luck. | Native speaker review |
Risk summary (matches doctrine_risk_registry.json exactly): Critical = 16, High = 10, Medium = 4, Low = 0. Total requiring theologian review = 26. Total requiring native speaker review = 4. Total automated-only = 0.

This matrix must be loaded alongside assets/doctrine_risk_registry.json and analysis/08_core_glossary.md before any Phase 2 translation session. Doctrine names, risk tiers, and review routing in this document are authoritative only insofar as they match the registry; any future registry update must be mirrored here.
Critical Risk Doctrines
The Return and Reign of Christ
Cantonese name: 基督嘅再來同掌權
Key terms: come_lord_jesus, king_of_kings_lord_of_lords, kingdom_of_the_world_becomes_kingdom_of_christ, coming_soon, thousand_years
Review routing: Human theologian
Christ’s return and cosmic reign must remain purely doctrinal in Cantonese teaching materials; Hong Kong’s sovereignty-sensitive political climate means titles like 萬王之王萬主之主 risk being heard as commentary on present political authority unless framed exclusively as Christ’s unique end-time reign, distinct from the imperial “dragon throne” (龍椅) image.
Deity and Eternality of Christ
Cantonese name: 基督嘅神性同永恆性
Key terms: alpha_and_omega, word_of_god_title, lamb, lion_of_judah_root_of_david
Review routing: Human theologian
The parallel divine self-designation (Alpha and Omega) shared identically by God and Christ must never be softened; there is a real risk in Cantonese teaching contexts of Christ being received as merely an especially powerful spiritual figure comparable to a temple deity rather than co-eternal, co-equal God.
Lordship of Christ
Cantonese name: 基督嘅主權
Key terms: lord, king_of_kings_lord_of_lords, come_lord_jesus
Review routing: Human theologian
Reuses the baseline’s Lordship of Christ doctrine exactly; given Hong Kong’s political sensitivities around sovereignty and loyalty language, every occurrence must stay doctrinal and never be read as endorsing or opposing any specific earthly political authority or regime.
Judgment of the Wicked
Cantonese name: 對惡人嘅審判
Key terms: beast, mark_of_the_beast, lake_of_fire, second_death, sorcerers, idolaters, wrath, plague, judged_according_to_works, great_white_throne
Review routing: Human theologian
Must be distinguished from the multi-layered, often temporary/purgatorial Buddhist hell cosmology (十八層地獄) popularly depicted in Hong Kong temple art and folk media, and from impersonal karmic retribution (報應) already flagged under the baseline’s sin entry; this is a final, non-cyclical divine verdict, not a stage souls pass through toward purification or rebirth.
Death and Hades Defeated
Cantonese name: 死亡同陰間被消滅
Key terms: death_and_hades, key_of_death_and_hades
Review routing: Human theologian
陰間 collides directly with the folk ancestral/underworld realm central to Ghost Festival and ancestor veneration through village ancestral halls (祠堂); must be taught as a temporary realm under Christ’s own sovereign authority, finally destroyed at the end — not a parallel spirit-world requiring ongoing ritual maintenance by descendants.
Book of Life and Final Judgment
Cantonese name: 生命冊同末後審判
Key terms: book_of_life, judged_according_to_works, great_white_throne
Review routing: Human theologian
Direct collision with the folk-religious “register of life and death” (生死簿) kept by underworld officials (判官, 閻羅王), popularly believed alterable through bribery, ritual offerings, or accumulated merit (功過), and well known via City God temple culture and popular media; God’s book of life cannot be bribed or ritually altered — entry is by grace through the Lamb’s blood, not a magistrate’s bureaucratic accounting.
The New Heaven and New Earth
Cantonese name: 新天新地
Key terms: new_heaven_and_new_earth, dwell_tabernacle, no_more_curse, no_temple
Review routing: Human theologian
Must be distinguished from Daoist immortal-paradise realms (蓬萊仙島, 仙境) familiar from popular Chinese legend; this is a renewed, physical, earth-affirming creation to which God himself comes down to dwell, not an ethereal escape from the material world upward and away from it.
The Church as Bride of Christ
Cantonese name: 教會作為基督嘅新婦
Key terms: bride, bridegroom, adorned, marriage_supper_of_the_lamb
Review routing: Human theologian
新婦 must not be reduced to a romantic metaphor or read through Chinese betrothal/dowry customs (聘金, 嫁妝); it names the whole redeemed people of God presented to Christ in consummated covenant union, with purity given by God, not self-earned as in a transactional temple-vow framework.
Worship of the Lamb
Cantonese name: 敬拜羔羊
Key terms: lamb, worship, worthy, holy_holy_holy, new_song
Review routing: Human theologian
敬拜 must be sharply distinguished from Hong Kong temple-worship practice (拜神/拜佛/拜祖先 — incense-burning, bowing, offerings at Wong Tai Sin, Man Mo Temple, household ancestor altars, Guanyin devotion); this is exclusive homage due to God and the Lamb alone, and 羔羊 must never be diluted to a generic livestock reference or zodiac-animal association.
Exclusivity of Worship and the Sin of Idolatry
Cantonese name: 敬拜嘅獨一性同拜偶像嘅罪
Key terms: idolaters, worship, beast
Review routing: Human theologian
拜偶像嘅人 names worship (拜) offered to images/idols, directly touching household veneration of deity statues and ancestral tablets common among believers’ own extended families in Hong Kong; must be taught with pastoral sensitivity without softening the text’s clear exclusion of divided worship from the consummated kingdom.
Occult Practice and Sorcery
Cantonese name: 邪術同法術嘅罪
Key terms: sorcerers
Review routing: Human theologian
行邪術嘅人 collides directly with widely practiced Hong Kong folk-religious/divinatory customs: fortune-telling (算命), feng shui consultation (睇風水), spirit-medium consultation (問米), and temple fortune-sticks (求籤); requires careful, non-alarmist pastoral framing since many believers’ extended families actively practice these customs.
Cosmic Conflict: the Dragon and Satan
Cantonese name: 龍同撒但嘅屬靈爭戰
Key terms: dragon, ancient_serpent_satan_devil, accuser, woman_symbolic
Review routing: Human theologian
龍 (dragon) is the single most severe cultural collision term in this curriculum: it is China’s preeminent auspicious symbol (imperial authority, “descendants of the dragon” 龍的傳人, dragon dance/boat festival traditions) with uniformly positive associations, yet Revelation explicitly identifies this figure as Satan himself, wholly evil and doomed to defeat. Teaching materials must repeatedly and explicitly clarify this is the biblical text’s own identification of a specific cosmic enemy, not a verdict on Chinese cultural dragon symbolism generally, to prevent readers either feeling their cultural identity attacked or softening the text’s moral verdict out of cultural deference.
The Beast and False Worship
Cantonese name: 獸同虛假敬拜
Key terms: beast, mark_of_the_beast, number_of_the_beast
Review routing: Human theologian
獸 must never carry a neutral “wild animal” connotation nor be trivialized as generic monster-fiction; 獸嘅印記 must be distinguished from feng shui talismans, temple amulets (符), or protective lucky charms (護身符) that Hong Kong readers might otherwise associate with a protective “mark,” when in fact it signifies allegiance to the beast and exclusion from God’s people.
Assurance of God’s Final Victory over Evil
Cantonese name: 神最終得勝嘅確據
Key terms: overcome_conquer, new_heaven_and_new_earth, death_and_hades, lake_of_fire, dragon
Review routing: Human theologian
Assurance rests on Christ’s already-accomplished victory (by the blood of the Lamb) and God’s unchanging sovereignty, not on an ongoing vow-and-favor exchange that could lapse if a ritual obligation is neglected — the same collision the baseline documents for grace versus Wong Tai Sin’s transactional “whatever you ask, you shall receive” exchange model.
Grace and the Free Gift in the New Creation
Cantonese name: 新創造入面嘅恩典同免費恩賜
Key terms: water_of_life, without_payment, grace, book_of_life
Review routing: Human theologian
“Without payment” (免費/唔使錢) directly reinforces the baseline’s grace-not-merit doctrine; must sharply contrast with the transactional vow-and-offering exchange modeled by Wong Tai Sin’s “whatever you ask, you shall receive,” and with the Daoist alchemical immortality elixir (仙丹/長生不老藥) sought through spiritual cultivation — the water of life is a free gift received by faith, not an achievement.
Kingdom of God and Political Neutrality
Cantonese name: 神嘅國同政治中立嘅立場
Key terms: kingdom_of_the_world_becomes_kingdom_of_christ, king_of_kings_lord_of_lords, throne
Review routing: Human theologian
Given Hong Kong’s sovereignty-sensitive political climate, this must be taught as a purely doctrinal, exclusive claim about Christ’s cosmic reign at his return — never framed as endorsing or opposing any specific earthly political authority or regime; also distinguish God’s throne (寶座) from the imperial “dragon throne” (龍椅) image.
High Risk Doctrines
The Sovereignty of God over History
Cantonese name: 神掌管歷史嘅主權
Key terms: alpha_and_omega, throne, power_of_god, almighty, mystery_of_god, it_is_done
Review routing: Human theologian
全能者 (Almighty) must not be diluted to “a supreme deity among many,” as with the Jade Emperor (玉皇大帝) atop the Chinese folk pantheon; God’s total, exclusive sovereignty over all history’s unfolding must be preserved without softening toward a first-among-equals reading.
Son of Man Christology
Cantonese name: 人子基督論
Key terms: son_of_man
Review routing: Human theologian
人子 must be kept distinct from the baseline’s 神嘅兒子 (Son of God); confusing the two titles risks either demoting Christ’s deity or flattening the Danielic authority-in-human-form nuance this title specifically carries.
Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution
Cantonese name: 逼迫中嘅忍耐同忠心見證
Key terms: testimony_witness, two_witnesses, tribulation, patience_of_the_saints, overcome_conquer, cowardly
Review routing: Human theologian
見證 must carry the costly, sometimes fatal weight this book gives it, not the casual “personal testimony sharing” register common in Hong Kong church culture; 忍耐 must be distinguished from stoic self-cultivation or face-saving endurance idiom (a strong cluster around 忍 in Cantonese), since biblical endurance is hope-fueled, not self-mastery for its own sake.
Vindication of the Saints
Cantonese name: 聖徒得伸冤同得平反
Key terms: souls_under_the_altar, robes_washed_in_blood_of_lamb, crown_of_life, patience_of_the_saints
Review routing: Human theologian
Martyrs’ souls at rest under God’s altar must be distinguished from folk “wandering/hungry ghosts” (孤魂野鬼) requiring appeasement, a concept central to Ghost Festival (盂蘭節) practice; vindication comes from God’s own justice, not ritual placation by the living.
New Jerusalem and God’s Dwelling with His People
Cantonese name: 新耶路撒冷同神嘅同住
Key terms: new_jerusalem, twelve_gates_foundations, no_temple
Review routing: Human theologian
Must preserve the downward direction of the text (God’s city descending to renewed earth), resisting any escapist upward-only reading; the twelve gates and foundations signal Old-and-New-Covenant continuity, connecting to the baseline’s Unity of Jews and Gentiles doctrine.
Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation
Cantonese name: 象徵同啟示文學嘅解釋原則
Key terms: revelation_apocalypse, sealed_144000, number_of_the_beast, thousand_years, armageddon, babylon_the_great
Review routing: Human theologian
Numbers, names, and images must be taught according to the book’s own symbolic-apocalyptic genre, not flattened into either literal arithmetic or Chinese numerology/omen culture — most vividly, the number 666 directly inverts the culturally auspicious “smooth” number 6 (六六大順) commercially sought after in Hong Kong phone numbers and addresses; the text’s use overturns rather than confirms that cultural association.
Babylon and Worldly Systems
Cantonese name: 巴比倫同世界體系
Key terms: babylon_the_great, great_prostitute, merchants
Review routing: Native speaker review
This symbolic name (likely coded for Rome in its original setting) for an idolatrous, persecuting world-system must not be taught as a literal end-times prediction about the modern city/nation of Iraq/Babylon; the merchant critique (18:11-19) must be framed as idolatrous commerce entangled with the beast’s system rather than commerce as such, given Hong Kong’s own strong commercial identity.
The Millennium and Eschatological Timeline
Cantonese name: 千年國度同末世時間表
Key terms: thousand_years, first_resurrection, gog_and_magog
Review routing: Human theologian
A doctrinally and interpretively contested period (premillennial, amillennial, postmillennial readings); Cantonese rendering must be literal and interpretively neutral, embedding no single scheme into the wording itself, leaving interpretive framing to teaching notes rather than the translation.
Covenant Continuity and Unity of God’s People
Cantonese name: 聖約嘅延續同神子民嘅合一
Key terms: twelve_gates_foundations, ark_of_the_covenant, every_tribe_tongue_people_nation, israel
Review routing: Human theologian
Reuses the baseline’s Unity of Jews and Gentiles / Universal Scope of the Gospel doctrines; must retain full unqualified universality across “every tribe, tongue, people, nation” without privileging any ethnic/linguistic group or importing a clan/local-hierarchy framing familiar from Pearl River Delta lineage culture.
Sanctification and Holiness of the Church
Cantonese name: 教會嘅成聖同聖潔
Key terms: holy, saints, nothing_unclean_shall_enter, adorned
Review routing: Human theologian
Reuses the baseline’s sanctification doctrine; the Bride’s purity/adornment (“the righteous deeds of the saints,” 19:8) is granted by God, not self-achieved merit, contrasting with temple vow-fulfillment (還神還願) or self-cultivation (修煉) frameworks already flagged in the baseline.
Medium Risk Doctrines
Prayer and Heavenly Worship Response
Cantonese name: 禱告同天上嘅敬拜回應
Key terms: incense_prayers_of_saints, souls_under_the_altar, elders, living_creatures
Review routing: Native speaker review
Incense here is purely symbolic imagery for prayers already heard by God through Christ; must be distinguished sharply from temple incense-burning ritual practice (燒香拜神/拜祖先) where the smoke itself is believed to carry petitions and requires specific ritual technique.
Divine Inspiration and Prophecy
Cantonese name: 神嘅默示同預言
Key terms: revelation_apocalypse, prophecy, mystery_of_god
Review routing: Native speaker review
Reuses the baseline’s Inspiration of Scripture/Fulfillment of Prophecy doctrines; must be distinguished from divination texts, temple fortune-sticks (求籤), and almanac culture (老黃曆) consulted for guidance in daily Hong Kong life.
Repentance amid Judgment
Cantonese name: 審判中嘅悔改
Key terms: repentance
Review routing: Native speaker review
Genuine change of heart and direction, not superficial ritual regret or a temple confession practice; even amid catastrophic judgment, repentance remains the door of escape God offers throughout the book.
Thanksgiving and Eschatological Blessing
Cantonese name: 感恩同末世嘅福氣
Key terms: hallelujah, blessed, amen
Review routing: Native speaker review
The 福 root is already flagged in the baseline for its Hong Kong commercial-prosperity-culture collision (the New Year greeting 恭喜發財); “blessed” (有福嘅) here must be taught as eschatological covenant favor and joy for those who keep the words of this prophecy, not fortune or luck in the popular commercial sense.
