Intercession
CRITICAL: ukuncengela (‘to plead/intercede on behalf of’) is the correct general term for prayer on behalf of others (Romans 8:26-27). This must be kept entirely distinct from the traditional Zulu religious structure in which amadlozi (ancestors) function as the active intermediaries between the living and the more distant uNkulunkulu, typically consulted through an isangoma. Romans 8:26-27 and 8:34 present Christ and the Spirit as the sole, sufficient intercessors; this curriculum must state explicitly that this role does not need, and is not filled by, ancestral mediation.
