ukuvuka kwabafileyo (‘the rising of the dead’) is the established, doctrinally precise phrase. No competing native reincarnation doctrine exists in traditional Zulu religion, though the ongoing presence of amadlozi (ancestors) as active spirits among the living should not be confused with Christ’s unique, bodily, historical resurrection.
