Imputed Righteousness

‘Reckoned/credited righteousness,’ paired with the ‘justification’ entry above. Distinguishes righteousness credited to a believer from righteousness earned through deeds (haki iliyopatikana kwa matendo), a distinction with no ready equivalent in either traditional African merit-based social standing or Islamic deeds-weighing soteriology, and must be explicitly taught rather than assumed.
