Messiah
CRITICAL: Masiya is transliterated directly; Kristo (Christ) is the more common everyday title, functioning almost as Jesus’ surname. Note for Swahili specifically: the Quran itself calls Jesus ‘al-Masih’ (Isa al-Masih), so Muslim-background readers already have a category for a figure called ‘the Messiah’ — but Islamic theology denies his divinity, atoning death, and resurrection. This curriculum must build on the shared title while explicitly clarifying the very different content Romans gives it, rather than assuming the shared word implies shared belief.
