Context-sensitive: in 1:1, called to apostleship; in 1:7, called to be saints; in 8:28-30, effectual calling to salvation. دعوت (invitation, also the Islamic technical term for the call to Islam, da’wah) is avoided as the primary rendering to prevent conflation with that specific missionary-invitation concept; بلایا گیا (summoned) better captures a sovereign, effectual call.
