شریعت is the established Urdu Christian Bible term for the Mosaic Law, but it is also the central Islamic legal-theological term for the entire body of Allah’s law as revealed through Muhammad — a much broader and differently sourced concept than Torah. توریت (Tawrat, the Quranic name for the revelation given to Musa) is available and more narrowly correct for ‘the Law of Moses’ specifically, and should be preferred in contexts distinguishing the Mosaic covenant from a generic ‘religious law’ sense that شریعت alone could suggest.
