Covenant

عہد is the established Urdu Christian Bible term for a solemn, relational covenant (also used of Allah’s covenant with the prophets and humanity in Islamic theology, e.g. Qur’an 7:172’s primordial covenant, giving some genuine bridge value). معاہدہ (a routine bilateral contract/treaty) lacks this relational-covenant weight and is avoided.
