Compound phrase required; no single Urdu word carries the forensic ‘declared righteous’ sense. معافی پانا (obtaining forgiveness) names only the removal of guilt, not the positive crediting of righteousness, and also risks assimilation to the Islamic understanding of divine forgiveness (maghfirah) as granted directly by Allah’s mercy weighed against deeds, without a mediating atonement.
