Calling

In ordinary Modern Czech, ‘povolání’ overwhelmingly means one’s job or profession (‘Jaké je vaše povolání?,’ ‘What is your occupation?’). Romans’ sense of a divine summons must be actively distinguished from the ‘what’s your job’ reading, which will be the first and only association most readers bring.
