Personal trust in Christ. Modern secular Czech commonly uses ‘víra’ for generic belief or self-confidence (‘víra v sebe sama,’ ‘believing in yourself’), with no automatic religious referent; the object of faith (Christ) must be specified explicitly every time, since a secular reader will not default to a religious reading.
