Salvation
CRITICAL: kisal (from a root meaning ‘to be safe/rescued’) is the best-attested general term. The specific risk is theological: Islamic soteriology, held with unusual scholarly depth and historical weight among Fulani communities (see the Sokoto Caliphate’s reformist tradition), has no atonement framework, understanding entry to aljanna (paradise) as Allah’s mercy weighed against a person’s deeds. Romans’ basis for salvation in Christ’s finished work (10:9-10) must be stated explicitly rather than left to default into a deeds-weighing model; aljanna must never stand in for kisal itself.
