- батюшка (reserve exclusively for addressing an Orthodox priest, and is itself a Russicism increasingly avoided)
Father
Отець (capitalized) for God as Father is standard and doctrinally clear across traditions (paired with Батько in less formal register). батюшка, the everyday Russian-derived form of address for a priest, is both theologically inappropriate here and increasingly avoided as a Russicism in contemporary Ukrainian usage in favor of панотець or отче; it must never be used for God the Father.
