Sanctification
CRITICAL: освячення is correct, but both the Orthodox and Greek Catholic traditions closely link sanctification to обоження (theosis/deification) through sacramental participation, and additionally освячення is the everyday word for the blessing/consecration of objects, homes, and Easter baskets (свячення паски) — a beloved and highly visible Ukrainian folk-religious practice. This everyday ritual-blessing sense must not be allowed to substitute for Romans 6-8’s sense of the Spirit’s ongoing moral transformation of the believer.
