Holy Spirit

Святий Дух is the settled Trinitarian term shared across all traditions. дух alone (without Святий) must never stand in for the Holy Spirit, since дух alone is used broadly for ‘spirit/mood/ghost’ in secular Ukrainian, as in ‘дух часу’ (zeitgeist) or ‘бойовий дух’ (fighting spirit/morale), the latter especially prominent in current wartime usage.
