Sanctification

CRITICAL: Russian Orthodox theology closely links sanctification to обожение (theosis/deification) mediated through sacramental participation (Eucharist, chrismation), rather than primarily the Spirit’s ongoing moral transformation of the believer described in Romans 6-8. If theosis is referenced comparatively it must be named explicitly, not silently blended with освящение.
