Transliterated loanword, fully established since the earliest Church Slavonic translations. Risk is mainly that Russian Orthodox usage strongly associates ‘apostle’ with the twelve plus Paul as a closed, unrepeatable historical office venerated in icons and feast days, not with a category still relevant to a Protestant-style curriculum’s argument about authority.
