Established Synodal Bible term, already a loanword from Greek euangelion via Church Slavonic. Universally recognized even by secular Russians as ‘the Gospel [book]’; risk is that it is heard as the name of a book/genre rather than as a living proclamation, given widespread cultural but not personal familiarity with Orthodoxy.
