Sin
Correct and well-established (root ח-ט-א, ‘to miss the mark’). The risk is doctrinal framework, not vocabulary: mainstream Jewish anthropology holds two competing inclinations present from birth (yetzer hatov and yetzer hara) with real freedom to choose good through Torah observance, not an inherited corrupted nature from Adam. Romans 5:12-19’s federal-headship argument must be taught deliberately against this default.
