Section C — Extended Notes on the Two Highest-Priority Cross-Cutting Terms
C.1 Testimony / Witness / Martyr (μαρτυρία, μάρτυς, μάρτυρες)
Revelation is saturated with witness-vocabulary (1:2, 5, 9; 2:13; 6:9; 11:3, 7; 12:11, 17; 17:6; 19:10; 20:4), and it is the theological home of the English word “martyr.” This creates the single most consequential NEW forbidden-substitution decision in this Language Package:
FORBIDDEN: Şehit. Turkish şehit is an extremely loaded term carrying (a) a specific Islamic theological guarantee of automatic entry to cennet for one who dies in the path of Allah/jihad, and (b) an equally powerful secular-nationalist meaning (soldiers/police who die in service to the Turkish state are officially and popularly honored as şehit, with major state ceremony and civic reverence attached). Using şehit for Christian witnesses who die for their testimony would import BOTH of these frames wholesale — a merit-guaranteed-paradise framework foreign to the grace doctrine established throughout this Language Package, AND a nationalist-martial connotation entirely absent from Revelation’s own vocabulary (μάρτυς never implies violent death-in-battle; it means simply “witness/testifier,” with death as a possible but not definitional consequence).
Required rendering: tanık (witness) for μάρτυς/μαρτυρία in the ordinary sense; where the text specifically describes death for that testimony (6:9; 17:6; 20:4), render descriptively — “tanıklıkları için öldürülenler” (“those killed for their testimony”) — rather than reaching for a single loaded noun. This preserves the martyrdom reality Revelation clearly describes while avoiding the şehit collision. Risk: Critical. Mandatory theologian review on every occurrence.
C.2 Patient Endurance (ὑπομονή)
Occurring at 1:9; 2:2-3, 19; 3:10; 13:10; and 14:12 (the last two are the book’s own summary statements of what distinguishes the faithful from the beast’s followers), ὑπομονή is directly named by this curriculum’s own Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution doctrine and therefore requires careful handling.
The natural Turkish word, sabır, is one of the most celebrated virtues in Islamic devotional and ethical teaching (frequently paired with reliance on Allah’s qadar/decree, e.g. in trial and loss). This is a genuine point of resonance — like Şükran (thanksgiving) in the Romans baseline — and should be taught as such, not avoided. However, teaching material must clarify the specific content of Revelation’s hypomonē: active, informed, covenant-faithful perseverance in allegiance to Christ specifically, while awaiting his certain return, NOT stoic or fatalistic resignation to an impersonal decree. Where the distinction needs sharper marking, sebat (steadfastness, perseverance — a less religiously loaded, more literary/formal Turkish term) may be preferred, particularly in Critical-tier passages (13:10; 14:12).
Recommended default rendering: sabır (with resonance explicitly taught), with sebat available as an alternative in passages requiring maximal distinction from qadar-resignation. Risk: High. Native speaker AND theologian review recommended for 13:10 and 14:12 specifically, given their function as the book’s own thesis statements on this doctrine.
Section D — Citation and Convention Notes
- Book title: Revelation = Vahiy (per established Kitabı Mukaddes convention; Turkish Bible Society editions occasionally use Esinleme as an alternative title — note but do not use, to maintain this Language Package’s single fixed convention).
- Chapter:verse citation format follows the established convention: Vahiy 21:1-8 (not “Revelation 21:1-8”).
- Proper names not previously established in this Language Package and introduced in Revelation: Armagedon/Harmagedon (16:16), Yecüc ve Mecüc (20:8), Abaddon/Apolyon (9:11) — all transliterated per the patterns above.
- All terms in Section A above must be enforced with the SAME priority ranking already established in
12_ai_translation_requirements.md(Critical > High > Forbidden-substitution-list > Medium > Low); this glossary does not alter that priority order, only extends its term inventory.
Critical Risk Terms
Righteousness
Approved rendering: Doğruluk
Transliteration: doh-roo-LOOK
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: salih amel (righteous deeds), adalet (justice, generic)
Inherited from Romans package. Must be kept distinct from Revelation 19:8’s δικαιώματα (concrete plural ‘righteous deeds/acts’, fine_linen_righteous_deeds entry below) which is fruit, not ground; Doğruluk itself is the forensic status never re-earned by those deeds.
Salvation
Approved rendering: Kurtuluş
Transliteration: koor-too-LOOSH
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: cennete girmek (entering paradise, as the whole content), necat (Ottoman/Arabic register)
Inherited from Romans package. Reused at Revelation 7:10; 12:10; 19:1 in worship-acclamation contexts; must not be softened toward ‘entering cennet,’ the same caution governing new_heaven_and_new_earth below.
Resurrection
Approved rendering: Diriliş
Transliteration: dee-ree-LEESH
Doctrine: Resurrection of Christ
Rejected alternatives: göğe yükseliş (ascension, alone), ruhsal diriliş (spiritual-only revival)
Inherited from Romans package. Root of ‘birinci diriliş’ (first resurrection, 20:4-6) and underlies Christ’s authority in ‘keys of Death and Hades’ (1:18), grounded in his own real historical death and bodily resurrection.
Lord
Approved rendering: Rab
Transliteration: RAHB
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: efendi (master, non-divine), üstat (teacher/master)
Inherited from Romans package. Reused at 1:8; 4:8; 11:15; 15:3-4; 19:16 (‘Rablerin Rabbi’); 22:20-21 (‘Rab İsa, gel!’). Must retain full, exclusive, supreme-sovereignty force at every occurrence.
Son Of God
Approved rendering: Tanrı’nın Oğlu
Transliteration: tahn-RUH-nuhn oh-LOO
Doctrine: Sonship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: Tanrı’nın sevgili kulu (God’s beloved servant), kutsal kişi (holy person)
Inherited from Romans package. Reused at Revelation 2:18 (‘the Son of God’ addressing Thyatira). MANDATORY teaching note distinguishing this unique, eternal, co-equal Sonship from the redeemed believer’s adoptive sonship promised at 21:7 (see i_will_be_his_god_he_my_son).
Incarnation
Approved rendering: Beden alma
Transliteration: beh-DEN ahl-MAH
Doctrine: Incarnation
Rejected alternatives: Tanrı’nın insan kılığına girmesi (God disguising himself as a human), tecessüm (bare philosophical term without doctrinal framing)
Inherited from Romans package. Cross-referenced at Revelation 21:3’s tabernacling_of_god entry as the doctrine’s final, unmediated, eschatological completion.
Messiah
Approved rendering: Mesih
Transliteration: meh-SEEH
Doctrine: Messianic Promise
Rejected alternatives: sadece bir peygamber (merely a prophet)
Inherited from Romans package. Reused at 1:1-2,5; 11:15; 12:10; 20:4,6, always paired with the full OT-fulfillment content Paul assumes, never left as a bare honorific.
Jesus
Approved rendering: İsa
Transliteration: ee-SAH
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: bare ‘İsa Peygamber’ (Prophet Jesus, without Mesih)
Inherited from Romans package. Always paired with Mesih throughout Revelation (1:1,5,9; 22:20-21); never used bare in doctrinally significant contexts.
God
Approved rendering: Tanrı
Transliteration: tahn-RUH
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Rejected alternatives: Allah (theologically usable but politically/socially contested for Christian texts in some contexts)
Inherited from Romans package. Used consistently throughout; the sole and central referent of every worship scene in the book.
Holy Spirit
Approved rendering: Kutsal Ruh
Transliteration: koot-SAHL ROOH
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: Cebrail (the archangel Gabriel)
Inherited from Romans package. Reused at 1:4 (seven spirits, see seven_spirits_of_god below), 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22; 14:13; 22:17. Mandatory Trinitarian safeguard: never an angel or an impersonal force.
Father
Approved rendering: Baba
Transliteration: bah-BAH
Doctrine: Adoption into God’s Family
Rejected alternatives: Yaratıcı (Creator, as a substitute to avoid relational language)
Inherited from Romans package. Reused at 1:6; 2:27; 3:5,21; 14:1; underlies the consummated Father-son covenant formula of 21:7.
Blessed
Approved rendering: Ne mutlu
Transliteration: neh moot-LOO
Doctrine: The Beatitudes and Kingdom Values

Approved rendering: Başlangıçta Söz vardı, Söz Tanrı’yla birlikteydi, Söz Tanrı’ydı
Transliteration: bahsh-lahn-guh-JUH-tah surz vahr-DUH

Lamb Of God
Approved rendering: İşte, dünyanın günahını ortadan kaldıran Tanrı Kuzusu!
Transliteration: eesh-TEH, dyoon-yah-NUHN goo-nah-huh-NUH ohr-tah-DAHN kahl-duh-RAHN tahn-RUH koo-zoo-SOO
Doctrine: The Lamb of God
Inherited from the John package (ἀμνός, amnos). Revelation uses a DIFFERENT Greek word, ἀρνίον (arnion, Kuzu — see lamb_arnion below), for the same referent; every Kuzu occurrence in Revelation must cross-reference this baseline Passover/Isaiah 53 typology.
It Is Finished
Approved rendering: Tamamlandı
Transliteration: tah-mahm-lahn-DUH
Doctrine: It Is Finished: The Completed Atonement
Rejected alternatives: bitti (too weak, loses the completion sense)
Inherited from the John package (John 19:30, Τετέλεσται). ABSOLUTE FIREWALL: this Turkish rendering is reserved EXCLUSIVELY for John 19:30 and must NEVER be used for Revelation’s distinct Γέγονεν (‘It is done,’ 16:17; 21:6) — see it_is_done_gegonen below.

Doctrine: Salvation by Grace Through Faith
Rejected alternatives: salih amel değildir (imports the specific Islamic righteous-deeds category)
Inherited from the Ephesians package. MANDATORY companion doctrine for Revelation 19:8’s fine_linen_righteous_deeds — the bridal garment is fruit, never ground, of salvation; guards against an amel-mizan misreading.
Good Works
Approved rendering: iyi işler
Transliteration: ee-YEE eesh-LEHR
Doctrine: Salvation by Grace Through Faith
Rejected alternatives: salih amel (imports the Islamic deeds-weighed-at-judgment category)
Inherited from the Ephesians package. Companion doctrine, paired with not_of_works, for teaching Revelation 19:8 and 20:12-13 without contradiction.
Worship In Spirit And Truth
Approved rendering: Tanrı ruhtur, O’na tapanlar da ruhta ve gerçekte tapmalıdır
Transliteration: tahn-RUH rooh-TOOR, oh-NAH tah-pahn-LAHR dah rooh-TAH veh gehr-chehk-TEH tahp-mah-luh-DUHR

Transliteration: beh-NEEM
Doctrine: The Seven ‘I Am’ Statements

Transliteration: bohrch seh-neh-DEE
Doctrine: The Reconciliation of All Things
Inherited from the Colossians package. Reference for the forensic-legal register used to teach both washed_robes_blood_of_lamb (7:14) and books_opened_book_of_life (20:12-15) as accountability/testimony records, not competing merit-scales.

Approved rendering: Tanrı’nın bütün silahları / zırhı
Transliteration: tahn-RUH-nuhn byoo-TYOON see-lah-lah-RUH / zuhr-HUH

Universal Lordship Confession
Approved rendering: her diz çökecek… İsa Mesih Rab’dir
Transliteration: hehr deez chur-keh-JEHK… ee-SAH meh-SEEH rahb-DEER

Doctrine: The Crucifixion: Forgiveness and the Penitent Thief
Inherited from the Luke package. Establishes the precedent that ‘cennet’ can be used in a Christ-centered, clarified sense (immediate presence with Christ); this precedent must NOT be extended to Revelation 21’s ‘new heaven and new earth,’ which is a categorically different, non-cennet doctrine — see new_heaven_and_new_earth below.
Curse Of The Law
Approved rendering: Kutsal Yasa’nın laneti
Transliteration: koot-SAHL yah-SAH-nuhn lah-neh-TEE
Doctrine: The Law’s Purpose
Inherited from the Galatians package. Reference for Revelation 22:3’s no_more_curse, extending the Law’s-curse resolution to the whole creation’s final state; keep lanet judicial, never folk-curse (nazar/muska).
Atonement Curse Bearing
Approved rendering: Kendini feda etti
Transliteration: ken-dee-NEE feh-DAH et-TEE
Doctrine: Atonement and Christ’s Curse-Bearing
Rejected alternatives: kurban etti (offered as a Kurban-Bayramı-style sacrifice TO God, direction reversed)

Transliteration: bah-BAHM hah-LAH chah-luhsh-mahk-tah-DUHR

Book Title Revelation
Approved rendering: Vahiy
Transliteration: Apokalypsis
Doctrine: Inspiration and Preservation of Scripture
Rejected alternatives: açıklama (used in running text elsewhere, but not for the fixed book title), Esinleme (an alternative TBS title, noted but not used, to maintain a single fixed convention)
Original: Ἀποκάλυψις
Category: Scripture
The book’s title and self-description (1:1): the definitive, final, Christ-centered unveiling of things now accomplished or soon to take place. Retain the established Kitabı Mukaddes title Vahiy despite the Galatians package’s general caution against bare ‘vahiy’ (there, the concern was implying a new-scripture-bearing prophetic office). Departing from this fixed book title would disorient readers seeking ‘the Book of Revelation.’ MANDATORY teaching note: this Vahiy is the CLOSING, canon-completing disclosure of an already-finished redemptive plan centered on the already-incarnate, already-risen İsa Mesih, not an open-ended revelatory process or a new prophetic office.

Approved rendering: Alfa ve Omega
Transliteration: Alpha kai Ō

Doctrine: The Sovereignty of God over History
Original: ὁ ὢν καὶ ὁ ἦν καὶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος
Category: God
Divine self-existence formula (1:4,8; 4:8) echoing Exodus 3:14. Mandatory cross-reference to seven_i_am_statements (Ben’im).
Son Of Man Apocalyptic
Approved rendering: İnsanoğlu
Transliteration: homoion huion anthrōpou
Doctrine: The Return and Reign of Christ
Original: ὅμοιον υἱὸν ἀνθρώπου
Category: Christology
The Danielic apocalyptic figure (Daniel 7:13) applied to the risen, glorified Christ (1:13; 14:14). Reuse the İnsanoğlu convention already established across the Synoptic Gospels exactly.
Keys Of Death And Hades

Rejected alternatives: şehit (forbidden — see testimony_witness_martyr)

Approved rendering: Galip gelen
Transliteration: ho nikōn
Doctrine: Perseverance and Faithful Witness under Persecution
Rejected alternatives: an independently self-achieved, merit-earned victory reading
Original: ὁ νικῶν
Category: Salvation
The recurring promise-formula closing all seven letters (2:7,11,17,26; 3:5,12,21) and reprised as the book’s summary promise (21:7). Must be taught as Spirit-empowered perseverance through union with the conquering Lamb, never self-generated merit.
Synagogue Of Satan
Approved rendering: Şeytan’ın havrası
Transliteration: synagōgē tou satana
Doctrine: The Seven Churches and the Call to Repentance
Original: συναγωγὴ τοῦ σατανᾶ
Category: Church
A historically specific first-century polemic (2:9; 3:9) against a particular local group in Smyrna/Philadelphia slandering the church. Mandatory anti-generalization discipline identical to woes_against_pharisees/his_blood_be_on_us: never extended to Jewish people collectively.
Second Death
Approved rendering: ikinci ölüm
Transliteration: ho thanatos ho deuteros
Doctrine: Judgment of the Wicked and Vindication of the Saints
Rejected alternatives: barzakh-equivalent framing, kabir azabı framing
Original: ὁ θάνατος ὁ δεύτερος
Category: Judgment
Final, eternal separation from God (2:11; 20:6,14; 21:8), categorically distinct from ordinary physical (first) death, which is abolished for the redeemed per 21:4. Must not be read against Islamic barzakh/kabir azabı intermediate-state categories.
Worthy Axios
Approved rendering: layık
Transliteration: axios
Doctrine: Worship of the Lamb
Original: ἄξιος

As Though Slain
Approved rendering: boğazlanmış gibi ama ayakta duran
Transliteration: hōs esphagmenon
Doctrine: Worship of the Lamb
Rejected alternatives: kurban vocabulary implying an offering TO God
Original: ὡς ἐσφαγμένον
Category: Christology
The Lamb bears marks of a real, completed, once-for-all sacrificial death yet stands alive and enthroned. Both clauses (slain / standing) must be retained at every occurrence (5:6,9,12; 13:8).
Worthy Is The Lamb
Approved rendering: Kuzu… layıktır
Transliteration: Axion estin to arnion
Doctrine: Worship of the Lamb
Original: Ἄξιόν ἐστιν τὸ ἀρνίον
Category: Worship
Central worship-liturgy declaration (5:12), directly parallel to 4:11’s declaration of the Father’s worthiness — a direct, load-bearing deity-of-Christ claim; never soften relative to 4:11.
Souls Under The Altar
Approved rendering: kurban yerinin altındaki canlar
Transliteration: hai psychai…hypokatō tou thysiastēriou
Doctrine: Martyrdom and the Vindication of the Saints
Original: αἱ ψυχαὶ…ὑποκάτω τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου

Transliteration: hekaton tesserakonta tessares chiliades / esphragismenoi
Doctrine: Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation
Original: ἐσφραγισμένοι / ἑκατὸν τεσσεράκοντα τέσσαρες χιλιάδες
Category: Symbolic Interpretation
Exegetically contested (7:4-8): literal ethnic-Israel remnant, symbolic complete-church, or both. Render literally, record leading options without adjudicating. FLAG real-world collision with Yehova’nın Şahitleri’s (Jehovah’s Witnesses) distinctive literalist doctrine, active in Turkey.
Washed Robes Blood Of Lamb
Approved rendering: Kuzu’nun kanıyla yıkadılar
Transliteration: eplynan tas stolas autōn en tō haimati tou arniou

Revelation’s four-fold naming (12:9) of the same personal evil being, defeated and cast into the lake of fire (20:10). Genuine point of contact with İblis/Şeytan in Turkish-Islamic theology; note resonance WITHOUT conflation — NT narrative already judicially defeated at the cross (12:11), differing framework/timeline from the Islamic İblis narrative.
Testimony Witness Martyr
Approved rendering: tanık / tanıklık

Category: Judgment
SINGLE HIGHEST-PRIORITY RESONANCE POINT IN THE BOOK. Direct Qur’anic name-overlap (Sura al-Kahf 18:94; al-Anbiya 21:96). Mandatory theologian review noting the shared apocalyptic category explicitly WITHOUT conflating Revelation’s own sequence (a brief, final, decisively defeated uprising after — not before — Christ’s millennial reign) with the distinct Islamic sequence (Dajjal, Mahdi, differing agency/timeline).

Category: Judgment
HIGHEST-SENSITIVITY TERM IN THE BOOK: read carelessly, maps almost exactly onto the Islamic mizan and the İlliyyin/Sicin recording-books. MANDATORY clarification: final destiny is determined by inclusion in the book of life (grace-received relationship through faith, per Doğruluk/Aklanma doctrine); the deed-books function as testimony/accountability record and basis for reward-differentiation, NEVER a competing merit-scale.
