Cross-Reference Analysis
Cross-Reference and Theme Analysis — Revelation 1–22 (English → Hungarian)
Methodology
This document catalogs, chapter by chapter, every identifiable Old Testament quotation and allusion in Revelation, all messianic references and typological patterns, and all substantive parallels to the Romans baseline curriculum already carried in this Language Package. Citations are given in normalizable form — Book Chapter:Verse in English convention (e.g., “Genesis 15:6,” “Revelation 21:1,” “Romans 8:28”) — for cross-tool consistency; the Hungarian citation-and-book-name conventions for use within translated Hungarian output remain those fixed by the baseline (Róma, 1 Mózes, Zsoltárok, Ézsaiás, Habakuk, Jóel), extended in this document’s final section with the additional Hungarian book names Revelation requires.
Revelation contains almost no formally introduced “it is written” citations (contrast Paul’s frequent γέγραπται); its relationship to the Old Testament is overwhelmingly one of dense verbal echo, image-borrowing, and typological recapitulation, especially of Genesis, Exodus, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, and Zechariah. Each row below records the strongest and clearest connections; this is a working matrix for Phase 2 translators and reviewers, not an exhaustive academic apparatus.

PART 1 — Chapter-by-Chapter Cross-Reference Matrix
Chapter 1
| Passage | Theme | Related Character(s) | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revelation 1:5 | Christ as faithful witness, firstborn from the dead, ruler of kings | Jesus Christ | Psalm 89:27 (firstborn, highest of kings); echoes Romans 8:29 (“firstborn among many brothers”) | Reuse baseline “feltámadás,” “Úr”; keep “elsőszülött a halottak közül” consistent with any prior curriculum use of this phrase for Christ’s resurrection-priority. |
| Revelation 1:6 | Kingdom of priests | Believers | Exodus 19:6 (“kingdom of priests, holy nation”); parallels 1 Peter 2:9 (outside this pipeline, note only) | Medium; reuse baseline “Isten országa,” “szent.” |
| Revelation 1:7 | Christ’s visible return | Jesus Christ | Daniel 7:13 (coming with the clouds); Zechariah 12:10 (“look on him whom they have pierced… mourn”); combined citation | High — grounds “The Return and Reign of Christ”; must retain the Zechariah mourning imagery as genuine repentance/recognition, not merely spectacle. |
| Revelation 1:8 | Divine self-designation | God (the Father) | Isaiah 41:4; 44:6; 48:12 (“I am the first and the last”) | Critical — first occurrence of “Alfa és Ómega”; must render identically at Revelation 21:6 and 22:13 (see Rendering-Consistency Rules below). |
| Revelation 1:12-16 | Vision of the glorified Christ | Jesus Christ (Son of Man) | Daniel 7:9-14 (Ancient of Days/Son of Man imagery fused); Daniel 10:5-6; Ezekiel 1:26-28 | Critical — grounds Deity of Christ and Sonship of Christ (Romans baseline Critical doctrines); “Emberfia” must not blur into ordinary human sonship. |
| Revelation 1:17-18 | ”Fear not… I am the first and the last, and I have the keys of Death and Hades” | Jesus Christ | Isaiah 44:6; 41:4 | Critical; ties directly to Romans “resurrection_of_christ” (Critical) — same total victory-over-death claim. |
Chapters 2–3 (Seven Letters)
| Passage | Theme | Related Character(s) | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revelation 2:7 | Tree of life restored to the overcomer | — | Genesis 2:9; 3:22-24 (Eden, access barred) | Medium; establishes the Eden-to-Eden inclusio completed in Revelation 22:2,14. |

| Revelation 2:12,16 | Sharp two-edged sword from his mouth | Jesus Christ | Isaiah 49:2 (Servant’s mouth as a sword) | Medium; Suffering-Servant typology applied to the judging Christ. |
| Revelation 2:14 | Balaam’s teaching | Balaam, Balak | Numbers 22–25; 31:16 | Medium; requires OT background note for less-catechized readers. |
| Revelation 2:17 | Hidden manna, white stone, new name | — | Exodus 16 (manna); Isaiah 62:2; 65:15 (new name) | Medium; Exodus typology of sustenance now heavenly/eschatological. |
| Revelation 2:20 | Jezebel | ”Jezebel” (symbolic name for a false prophetess at Thyatira) | 1 Kings 16:31; 2 Kings 9:22 (idolatry and sexual immorality) | High; a symbolic label for a local figure, not a statement about women generally — teaching notes should state this explicitly, given the risk of misapplied gendered polemic. |
| Revelation 2:26-27 | Ruling the nations with a rod of iron | Jesus Christ / overcomers | Psalm 2:8-9 (messianic enthronement psalm) | Critical — foundational messianic-kingship text reused again at Revelation 12:5; 19:15; grounds “The Return and Reign of Christ.” |
| Revelation 3:7 | Key of David | Jesus Christ | Isaiah 22:22 (Eliakim’s stewardship key, typologically fulfilled in Christ) | Medium; reuse baseline “Dávid”; grounds Davidic Covenant. |
| Revelation 3:9 | Nations bowing at the feet of the faithful | — | Isaiah 60:14; 49:23 | Medium; eschatological vindication imagery, reused at Revelation 21:24-26. |

| Revelation 3:19 | Divine discipline of the beloved | — | Proverbs 3:11-12 | Low; standard wisdom-tradition allusion. |
| Revelation 3:21 | Sharing Christ’s throne | Jesus Christ / overcomers | Psalm 110:1 (enthronement at God’s right hand) | High; anticipates Revelation 22:1,3’s “throne of God and of the Lamb” (Critical). |

| Revelation 4:8 | ”Holy, holy, holy” | Living creatures | Isaiah 6:3 | Medium; verbatim liturgical echo — render with the same triple repetition Hungarian liturgical tradition (both Catholic and Reformed) already uses (“Szent, szent, szent”). |
| Revelation 4:9-11 | ”Worthy are you… you created all things” | God the Father | Psalm 148 (creation’s praise); Genesis 1 (creation) | High; first “worthy” (ἄξιος) occurrence — see Chapter 5 parallel. |
Chapter 5 (The Lamb and the Scroll)
| Passage | Theme | Related Character(s) | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revelation 5:5 | Lion of the tribe of Judah, Root of David | Jesus Christ | Genesis 49:9-10 (Judah’s lion-scepter); Isaiah 11:1,10 (root of Jesse/David) | Critical — direct messianic-promise fulfillment; reuse baseline “Messiás,” “Dávid” exactly; parallels Romans 1:3 (“seed of David”) and Romans 15:12 (citing Isaiah 11:10). |
| Revelation 5:6-9 | The Lamb slain and standing | Jesus Christ (the Lamb) | Isaiah 53:7 (silent lamb led to slaughter); Exodus 12:1-13 (Passover lamb); Genesis 22:8 (“God will provide the lamb”) | Critical — the book’s dominant Christological/atonement image; parallels Romans 3:25 (propitiation) and the baseline’s atonement-language escalation rule (mandatory theologian review). |
| Revelation 5:9-10 | New song; ransomed from every tribe, tongue, people, nation | Redeemed multitude | Exodus 19:6 (kingdom of priests); Psalm 96:1; 98:1 (“sing a new song”) | High; grounds Unity of Jews and Gentiles (Romans baseline Medium doctrine, elevated here by direct textual universality). |

Chapter 6 (Seven Seals)
| Passage | Theme | Related Character(s) | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revelation 6:1-8 | Four horsemen | — | Zechariah 1:8-10; 6:1-8 (four chariots/colored horses as agents of divine judgment) | High; symbolic-apocalyptic pattern, ties to “Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation” doctrine — resist literalist mapping onto specific modern crises. |
| Revelation 6:9-10 | Martyrs’ cry “how long?” | Souls under the altar | Genesis 4:10 (Abel’s blood crying out); Psalm 79:5,10; Zechariah 1:12 | High; grounds Judgment of the Wicked/Vindication of the Saints; parallels Romans 8:22-23 (creation’s groaning) as a shared “how long” eschatological posture. |
| Revelation 6:12-14 | Cosmic upheaval | — | Joel 2:10,31; Isaiah 13:10; 34:4; Amos 8:9 | Medium; “Day of the LORD” theophanic-judgment vocabulary, a recurring OT genre pattern, not a scientific/astronomical claim. |
| Revelation 6:16-17 | ”Hide us… from the wrath of the Lamb” | — | Isaiah 2:10,19; Hosea 10:8 | High; see “wrath” entry (core glossary #20) — must retain the deliberate paradox of a slain Lamb who is also Judge. |

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revelation 7:1-8 | Sealing of the 144,000 | Twelve tribes of Israel | Ezekiel 9:4-6 (protective mark on the forehead); Genesis 49 / Numbers 1 (tribal lists, background) | Critical — see core glossary #21; must present the symbolic-completeness reading against the Jehovah’s Witness literal-exclusive-class reading. |
| Revelation 7:9-10 | The great multitude from every nation | Redeemed multitude | Genesis 15:5; 22:17 (Abraham’s offspring “as the sand,” “as the stars” — universal-multitude promise) | High; the deliberate textual pairing of a bounded number (144,000) with an uncountable multitude (7:9) is itself the key to the symbolic reading and should be preserved together in teaching, not treated as two separate groups. |
| Revelation 7:14-17 | Robes washed in the Lamb’s blood; God shepherds and wipes away tears | The Lamb, redeemed multitude | Isaiah 25:8 (“wipe away tears… swallow up death”); Isaiah 49:10 (“they shall not hunger or thirst”); Psalm 23 (shepherd imagery) | Critical — direct verbal anticipation of Revelation 21:4 (core passage); render “letörli könnyeiket” identically in both passages. |

| Revelation 10:8-11 | Eating the scroll — sweet then bitter | John (the seer) | Ezekiel 2:8–3:3 (Ezekiel commanded to eat the scroll) | High; direct prophetic-commissioning typology — John stands in the line of the OT prophets, grounding “Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation” and reusing baseline “próféta.” |

| Revelation 12:4-5 | The child to rule with a rod of iron | Jesus Christ | Psalm 2:9 (again); Isaiah 66:7 (Zion’s sudden birth of a nation) | Critical; direct messianic fulfillment, parallels Revelation 2:27; 19:15. |

| Revelation 12:11 | ”They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony” | Believers | — (interprets Revelation’s own νικάω motif) | Critical interpretive key — cross-reference every other occurrence of “győz” (overcome) in the book to this verse; parallels Romans 8:37 (“more than conquerors”/felette is győztesek). |

| Revelation 13:11-15 | Beast from the earth (false prophet) | Second beast | Deuteronomy 13:1-3 (false prophets/signs test) | High; reuse baseline “próféta” negated. |
| Revelation 13:18 | The number 666 | The beast | (Possible ironic echo of 1 Kings 10:14, Solomon’s 666 talents of gold, as a symbol of imperial excess falling short of divine perfection) | Critical; see core glossary #33 — must not be paired with a named contemporary figure in any teaching material. |

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revelation 17:1-6 | The great harlot seated on the beast | ”Babylon,” the beast | Nahum 3:4 (Nineveh’s harlotries); Isaiah 23:15-17 (Tyre as harlot); Ezekiel 16, 23 (Israel’s own harlotry — now typologically inverted onto the world-system) | Critical — pastoral sensitivity for gendered prophetic-judgment imagery; standard OT idiom, not a statement about women. |

| Revelation 17:14 | ”Called, chosen, and faithful” | The Lamb’s followers | — (direct echo of the Romans 8:28-30 “golden chain” vocabulary cluster: called/κλητός, chosen/ἐκλεκτός) | Critical — must be treated with the identical non-adjudication caution the baseline applies to Romans 8:28-30/9:11-12 (“effectual calling”); do not resolve toward either the Reformed “irresistible calling” or Catholic synergistic reading. |

Parallels Romans 8:38-39 (nothing can separate us from God’s love) as the New Testament’s other great assurance passage — flag both for the same Reformed/Catholic assurance-of-final-perseverance caution the baseline applies to Romans 8. |
| Revelation 21:5 | ”Behold, I am making all things new… these words are trustworthy and true” | God the Father | Isaiah 43:19 (“I am doing a new thing”); cf. 3:14’s “Hű és Igaz” title | Critical; render “Hű és Igaz” family identically across 3:14, 19:11, 21:5. |

| Revelation 21:7 | The overcomer’s inheritance; sonship | God the Father, the overcomer | 2 Samuel 7:14 (Davidic covenant formula, “I will be his father, and he shall be my son,” now extended to every overcomer) | High — parallels Romans 8:14-17 (adoption, “Abba, Father”); must use ordinary “fiú,” never the reserved Critical phrase “Isten Fia.” |
| Revelation 21:8 | The excluded — cowardly, unbelieving, and unrepentant sinners; the lake of fire, the second death | — | (No single OT citation; the vice-list echoes Exodus 20 / the Decalogue’s own prohibited-sins categories: murder, idolatry, deception) | Critical; see core glossary #12, #52. |
| Revelation 21:12-14 | Twelve gates named for the tribes; twelve foundations named for the apostles | Twelve tribes, twelve apostles | Ezekiel 48:30-34 (twelve gates named for the tribes); Exodus 28:21 (twelve tribal names on the priestly breastpiece) | High; embodies Old/New Covenant continuity — parallels Romans 11:17-24 (the olive tree, Jew and Gentile united) and the baseline’s Unity of Jews and Gentiles doctrine. |
| Revelation 21:22-23 | No temple; God and the Lamb are its temple and light | God the Father, the Lamb | Isaiah 60:19-20 (the LORD as everlasting light, replacing sun and moon); Ezekiel 43:1-5 (glory filling the temple) | Critical; direct co-deity claim for the Lamb; parallels Revelation 22:1,3’s shared throne. |
| Revelation 21:24-27 | Nations bring their glory into the city; nothing unclean enters | Nations/kings of the earth | Isaiah 60:3,5,11 (nations and kings bringing wealth/glory to Zion); Isaiah 52:1 (the unclean shall not enter) | High; parallels Romans 11:25-26 (fullness of the Gentiles) and the New Heaven/New Earth doctrine’s universal scope. |
Chapter 22 (River of Life; Closing Words)
| Passage | Theme | Related Character(s) | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revelation 22:1-2 | River and tree of life; healing of the nations | — | Genesis 2:9-10 (Eden’s rivers); Ezekiel 47:1-12 (river flowing from the temple, trees for healing) | Critical; completes the Eden-to-New-Jerusalem inclusio begun in Genesis 2-3 and echoed at Revelation 2:7. |
| Revelation 22:3 | ”No more curse”; throne of God and of the Lamb | God the Father, the Lamb | Genesis 3:17-19 (the curse); Zechariah 14:11 | Critical; reuse core glossary #58 exactly — a single shared throne, not two adjacent thrones. |
| Revelation 22:4 | ”They will see his face” | Redeemed servants | Exodus 33:20 (no one may see God’s face and live — now definitively reversed); Psalm 17:15 | Medium; Catholic “beatific vision” scholastic category vs. Reformed plain-promise reading — teach the text’s own promise without requiring either apparatus. |
| Revelation 22:5 | ”They will reign forever and ever” | Redeemed servants | Daniel 7:18,27 (the saints’ everlasting dominion) | High; parallels Romans 5:17 (“reign in life through… Jesus Christ”). |
| Revelation 22:13 | Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end | Jesus Christ | Isaiah 44:6; 48:12 | Critical; third and final occurrence — render identically to 1:8 and 21:6; this three-fold identical rendering rule is itself a Phase 2 validation checkpoint. |
| Revelation 22:16 | ”The root and descendant of David” | Jesus Christ | 2 Samuel 7:12-16; Isaiah 11:1,10 | Critical; reuse baseline “Dávid,” “Messiás”; direct callback to 5:5 and to Romans 1:3. |
| Revelation 22:17 | ”Let the one who is thirsty come… take the water of life without price” | The Spirit, the Bride | Isaiah 55:1 | High; reuse “ajándékul/ingyen” — same grace-doctrinal-neutrality note as 21:6. |
| Revelation 22:18-19 | Warning against adding to or taking away from the words of this prophecy | — | Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32 (canon-protecting formula) | Medium; reuse baseline Inspiration of Scripture doctrine note. |
| Revelation 22:20 | ”Come, Lord Jesus” | Jesus Christ | (Aramaic parallel: 1 Corinthians 16:22, “Marana tha” — cross-curricular note) | High; reuse “Úr,” “Jézus” exactly; render with warmth within formal register, as the baseline instructs for Romans 8 and 10:9. |
| Revelation 22:21 | ”The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all” | Jesus Christ | — | Critical; final word of the whole canon of the New Testament in this book’s order — reuse baseline “kegyelem” and its full doctrinal-neutrality note exactly. |
PART 2 — Messianic References and Typology Summary Table
| Type/Pattern | OT Root Text(s) | Revelation Fulfillment/Echo | Romans Baseline Parallel | Risk |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Davidic royal Messiah | Genesis 49:9-10; 2 Samuel 7:12-16; Isaiah 11:1,10 | Revelation 5:5; 22:16 (Root/Lion/Descendant of David) | Romans 1:3 (“seed of David”); Romans 15:12 (citing Isaiah 11:10) | Critical |
| Passover Lamb / Suffering Servant | Exodus 12:1-13; Isaiah 53:7 | Revelation 5:6-14; 7:14; 12:11; 19:9 (“the Lamb”) | Romans 3:25 (propitiation); baseline atonement-escalation rule | Critical |
| Son of Man (Danielic judge-king) | Daniel 7:13-14 | Revelation 1:13; 14:14 | Distinct from, but complementary to, Romans/baseline “Isten Fia” | Critical |
| Divine Warrior | Isaiah 63:1-6; Psalm 2 | Revelation 19:11-16 | Romans 16:20 (“God will soon crush Satan”) — minor echo | High |
| New/eschatological Covenant formula | Jeremiah 31:31-34; Ezekiel 36:26-28; 37:27 | Revelation 21:3,7 | Romans baseline “covenant” (Critical); Romans 9:4 (the covenants) | Critical |
| Protoevangelium (serpent’s defeat) | Genesis 3:15 | Revelation 12:7-9; 20:2,10 | Romans 16:20 | Critical |
| New Exodus / plague pattern | Exodus 7-12; 15 | Revelation 8-9; 15:3-4; 16 | No direct Romans parallel; canonical redemptive-historical pattern | High |
| Eden restored | Genesis 2:8-10; 3:22-24 | Revelation 2:7; 22:1-2,14 | Romans 5:12-21 (Adam-Christ typology); Romans 8:19-22 (creation’s restoration) | Critical |
| New Jerusalem / Zion glorified | Isaiah 52; 54; 60; Ezekiel 40-48 | Revelation 21:2,9-27 | Romans 11:26 (“all Israel will be saved”); Unity of Jews and Gentiles | Critical |
| Book of Life / final judgment by works | Daniel 7:9-10; 12:1-2 | Revelation 20:11-15 | Romans 2:6-11 (“universal_human_accountability,” High) | Critical |
| Gog and Magog final assault | Ezekiel 38-39 | Revelation 20:8; 19:17-18 | No direct Romans parallel | High |
PART 3 — Parallels to Romans (Prior Curriculum) with Rendering-Consistency Rules
| Romans Passage | Revelation Passage | Shared Doctrine/Theme | Rendering-Consistency Rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| Romans 1:16-17 | Revelation 14:6 | Gospel (evangélium) as saving proclamation | Reuse evangélium exactly; treat Revelation 14:6’s “örökkévaló evangélium” as the same gospel Romans 1:16-17 proclaims, not a distinct or fuller message. |
| Romans 1:3-4 | Revelation 5:5; 22:16 | Davidic descent and resurrection Christology | Reuse Dávid, Messiás exactly; keep “Dávid leszármazottja/gyökere” terminology consistent across curricula. |
| Romans 3:23-25 | Revelation 1:5; 5:9; 7:14; 12:11 | Atonement through Christ’s blood | Reuse Bárány; apply the baseline’s mandatory-theologian-review rule for atonement/propitiation language to every “blood of the Lamb” occurrence in Revelation, not only Romans 3:25. |
| Romans 4 (esp. Romans 4:3, citing Genesis 15:6) | Revelation 21:7 | Inheritance by faith, not merit | Do not render Revelation 21:7’s “the one who overcomes will inherit” as a works-righteousness formula contradicting Romans 4’s imputed-righteousness doctrine (baseline “beszámított igazság,” Critical); teaching notes must show that “overcoming” (győzelem) in Revelation is itself defined (12:11) as trusting the Lamb’s blood and bearing faithful testimony, not law-keeping achievement. |
| Romans 5:12-21 | Revelation 21:4; 22:3 | Reversal of Adam’s sin/death/curse in Christ | Keep the baseline’s bűn/halál vocabulary consistent; teach Revelation 21-22 as the narrative completion of the Adam-Christ argument Romans states doctrinally. |
| Romans 8:14-17 | Revelation 21:7 | Adoption/sonship of believers | Reuse ordinary fiú; never substitute the reserved Critical phrase Isten Fia (exclusive to Christ) in either curriculum. |
| Romans 8:18-25 | Revelation 21:1-5; 22:1-3 | Creation’s future glory/renewal | Reuse új (qualitative newness) with the same Medium-risk teaching note on the neos/kainos lexical gap; treat Romans 8 as promise and Revelation 21-22 as fulfillment-vision of the identical hope. |
| Romans 8:28-30 (the “golden chain”: foreknown, predestined, called, justified, glorified) | Revelation 17:14 (“called, chosen, and faithful”) | Effectual calling / election | Apply the baseline’s Critical non-adjudication rule for “elhívás”/“kiválasztás” identically to Revelation 17:14; do not resolve toward Reformed or Catholic systematics in either curriculum. |
| Romans 8:31-39 | Revelation 21:3-4 | Assurance / God’s unbreakable presence with his people | Flag both for the baseline’s Critical “assurance_of_salvation” review routing; the Reformed perseverance-of-the-saints vs. Catholic ongoing-uncertainty contrast applies with equal force to Revelation 21’s “no more tears” promise. |
| Romans 9-11 | Revelation 7:1-8; 14:1-5; 21:12 | Israel, the Gentiles, and the people of God | Keep Izrael, pogányok/nemzetek consistent; the 144,000/great-multitude pairing (Revelation 7) is a distinct Critical risk from Romans 9-11’s predestination fault line (JW-doctrine collision vs. Reformed-Catholic election dispute) — do not conflate the two cautions in teaching notes; each requires its own explanation. |
| Romans 10:9-10 | Revelation 17:14; 19:16; 22:20 | Confession of Christ’s exclusive Lordship | Reuse Úr exactly in every occurrence across both curricula; “Jézus az Úr” (Romans 10:9) and “királyok Királya és uraknak Ura” (Revelation 19:16) must be recognizable to the reader as the same Lordship claim at different intensities. |
| Romans 12:1-8 | Revelation 4-5 | Worship, spiritual gifts, the body/assembly before God | Reuse lelki ajándékok, közösség where applicable; Revelation’s throne-room worship is the consummation, not a replacement, of Romans 12’s “living sacrifice” ethic. |
| Romans 13:1-7 | Revelation 13:1-18 | Civil authority vs. self-deifying worldly power | Teaching notes must clarify these are not contradictory: Romans 13 addresses legitimate governing authority owed submission; Revelation 13 addresses authority that has arrogated to itself the worship due to God alone. Do not present Revelation 13 as nullifying Romans 13’s general instruction, nor Romans 13 as ruling out Revelation 13’s warning. |
| Romans 15:12 (citing Isaiah 11:10) | Revelation 5:5; 22:16 | Root of Jesse/David, hope for the nations | Keep the Isaiah 11:10 citation rendering identical wherever it recurs across curricula. |
PART 4 — Citation Normalization Conventions
Normalizable form used throughout this document and required for all Phase 2 segment metadata: Book Chapter:Verse (e.g., “Revelation 21:1,” “Genesis 15:6,” “Romans 8:28”). Do not use comma-separated verse lists in metadata fields; range notation (“21:1-8”) is permitted for passage-level tags only.

In-text Hungarian citation example: Jel. 21:1 (not “Revelation 21:1”); verse numbers remain Arabic numerals, matching the YouVersion reference system per the baseline’s Cross-Reference Preservation Rules.
PART 5 — Rendering-Consistency Rules for Shared Quotations and Cross-Curricular Terms
- Alpha and Omega (Revelation 1:8; 21:6; 22:13): render identically as Alfa és Ómega at all three occurrences without exception; this is a divine self-designation applied to both the Father and the Son and must be visibly identical to the reader.
- Faithful and True (Revelation 3:14; 19:11; 21:5): render identically as Hű és Igaz (title) / hű és igaz (predicate adjective use) at every occurrence.
- “I will be their God, and they will be my people” covenant formula (Revelation 21:3,7; echoing Jeremiah 31:33; Ezekiel 37:27): render with the same fixed Hungarian phrasing at both Revelation occurrences to preserve the deliberate internal repetition.
- “He will wipe away every tear” (Revelation 7:17; 21:4; echoing Isaiah 25:8): render identically at both Revelation occurrences.
- Bárány (Lamb): always capitalized as a divine title, rendered identically at every occurrence throughout Revelation, and cross-referenced to Romans 3:25’s atonement doctrine wherever “blood of the Lamb” language recurs.
- Úr / Isten Fia / Jézus: reused from the Romans baseline without modification in every Revelation occurrence; no Revelation-specific variant is introduced.
- Isaiah 11:10 citation (Revelation 5:5; 22:16; cf. Romans 15:12): keep the “Root of David/Jesse” phrase rendering identical across both curricula’s documents.
- Genesis 15:6 / imputed righteousness framework (Romans 4:3): when cross-referenced from Revelation 21:7’s inheritance language, always cite in full normalized form (“Genesis 15:6,” “Romans 4:3”) in translator/teaching notes so reviewers can verify the works-righteousness caution above is being applied.
- Second death / lake of fire (Revelation 2:11; 20:6,14; 21:8; 19:20; 20:10,14-15): render második halál and tüzes tó identically at every occurrence across the whole book; this consistency is itself part of the annihilationism-vs.-eternal-conscious-judgment risk mitigation.
- Thousand years (Revelation 20:1-7): every occurrence flagged for theologian review individually; no averaging or summarizing across occurrences is permitted in Phase 2 segment processing.
This document, together with 07_semantic_analysis.md and 08_core_glossary.md, must be consulted during Phase 2 segment translation whenever a segment contains an Old Testament quotation, allusion, or a term flagged above as shared with the Romans baseline curriculum.
