Cross-Reference and Theme Analysis — Revelation 1–22
English → Somali Language Package Extension
Purpose and Method
This document maps every load-bearing Old Testament quotation and allusion, every messianic reference, every typological pattern, and every parallel to the baseline Romans curriculum found across Revelation 1–22. It exists to (a) give Phase 2 translators and reviewers the canonical background needed to render allusive apocalyptic language faithfully, and (b) lock in rendering-consistency rules wherever Revelation and Romans quote, echo, or theologically depend on the same underlying Scripture or the same established term.
Coverage rule: every chapter of Revelation is represented below. Chapters with dense allusion (nearly all of them, given the genre) list their major load-bearing connections; minor incidental echoes are folded into the chapter synthesis line rather than tabulated individually, consistent with the “load-bearing content” scope instruction.
Citation normalization rule: All citations in this document and all downstream Phase 2 artifacts must use the form {Full Book Name} {chapter}:{verse} (e.g., Genesis 15:6, Galatians 2:16, Revelation 21:4). Do not abbreviate book names in analysis documents. This is the internal-analysis-document convention; it is distinct from the Somali-language liturgical citation convention (Rooma 3:23, per 12_ai_translation_requirements.md), which governs only final translated learner-facing output, not this internal artifact.
Somali book-name extension (for Phase 2 use): the baseline’s book-name table (Romans, Genesis, Psalms, Isaiah, Habakkuk, Joel) is extended here with additional OT/NT books cited in this analysis, following established Somali Bible Society convention. These must be added to the Requirements document’s citation table before Phase 2 begins:

Part A — Chapter-by-Chapter Cross-Reference Matrix
Chapter 1 — Prologue and Inaugural Vision
| Passage | Theme | Related Character | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|
| Revelation 1:1 | Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation | John; angel | Daniel 2:28-30 (God who reveals mysteries) | Genre-setting; anchors Muujin (see 07/08) |
| Revelation 1:5-6 | Church as covenant people; Kingdom | Christ | Exodus 19:6 (kingdom of priests) | Reuse Boqortooyada Ilaah [Romans TM] |
| Revelation 1:7 | Return and Reign of Christ | Christ; “those who pierced him” | Zechariah 12:10; Daniel 7:13 | Critical. Direct messianic fulfillment; a pierced, historically crucified Messiah has no counterpart in Islamic Christology (which denies the crucifixion, Qur’an 4:157). Must not be softened. |
| Revelation 1:8 | Sovereignty of God over History; Deity of Christ | God | Exodus 3:14 (“I AM”); Isaiah 44:6 (“I am the first and I am the last”) | Critical. First occurrence of Alpha/Omega; ties to Romans god entry. |
| Revelation 1:12-16 | Deity of Christ | Christ (theophanic vision) | Daniel 7:9-13 (Ancient of Days/Son of Man); Daniel 10:5-6; Ezekiel 1:24; Isaiah 49:2 | High. Composite OT theophany imagery deliberately applied to the risen Christ. |
| Revelation 1:17-18 | Resurrection of Christ | Christ | Isaiah 44:6 | Critical. “I died and behold I am alive” presupposes real death; reuse Sarakicidda [Romans TM] logic. |
Synthesis: Chapter 1 establishes the book’s christological register by fusing OT divine theophany language (Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah) directly onto the risen Christ — the same deity-of-Christ collision flagged throughout the baseline, now delivered as narrated vision rather than argued doctrine.
Chapters 2–3 — Letters to the Seven Churches
| Passage | Theme | Related Character | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|
| Revelation 2:7 | New Heaven and New Earth (anticipatory) | — | Genesis 2:9; 3:22-24 | Medium. First occurrence of tree-of-life motif, completed Revelation 22:2,14,19. |
| Revelation 2:14 | Perseverance (negative example) | Balaam, Balak | Numbers 22–25; 31:16 | Medium. Typological warning figure. |
| Revelation 2:17 | Vindication of the Saints | — | Exodus 16:32-34; Isaiah 62:2; 65:15 | Medium. |
| Revelation 2:20 | Persecution / false teaching | Jezebel | 1 Kings 16:31; 18:4; 19:1-2; 21:25 | Medium. Typological name for a corrupting influence, not a claim about a literal historical reappearance. |
| Revelation 2:26-27 | Return and Reign of Christ | — | Psalm 2:8-9 | High. Direct messianic Psalm 2 citation; cross-ref Revelation 12:5; 19:15. |
| Revelation 2:28 | Return and Reign of Christ; Messianic Promise | — | Numbers 24:17 (“a star shall come out of Jacob”) | Medium. |
| Revelation 3:7 | Davidic Covenant; Return and Reign | David (typological authority) | Isaiah 22:22 | Medium-High. Cross-ref Romans seed_of_david / Farcanka Daa’uud. |
| Revelation 3:9 | Vindication of the Saints | — | Isaiah 45:14; 49:23; 60:14 | Medium. |
| Revelation 3:12 | New Heaven and New Earth (anticipatory) | — | Isaiah 62:2; Ezekiel 48:35 | Medium. |
| Revelation 3:14 | Assurance of God’s Final Victory | Christ | Isaiah 65:16 (“God of Amen” / “God of truth”) | High. First occurrence of the “Amen, Faithful and True” title cluster; must echo Revelation 19:11 and 21:5. |
| Revelation 3:19 | Perseverance | — | Proverbs 3:12 | Low. |
| Revelation 3:21 | Return and Reign of Christ | Christ | Psalm 110:1 | High. Enthronement psalm applied to Christ; cross-ref throne unity language in Revelation 22:1,3. |
Synthesis: The seven letters draw their reward-vocabulary almost entirely from OT covenant-blessing and messianic-kingship texts, establishing “the one who conquers” (Revelation 21:7’s fulfillment term) as inheritor of promises originally made to Israel and to the Davidic king.
Chapter 4 — Throne Room Vision
| Passage | Theme | Related Character | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|
| Revelation 4:1 | Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation | John | Ezekiel 1:1 | Low. |
| Revelation 4:2-3 | Sovereignty of God over History | God | Ezekiel 1:26-28; Exodus 24:10 | High. |
| Revelation 4:6-8 | Worship of the Lamb (anticipatory); Sovereignty | four living creatures | Ezekiel 1:5-10; 10:14; Isaiah 6:2-3 | Medium. Must lexically distinguish these worshiping creatures from Bahalka (the beast, chs. 13/17) per 07/08. |
| Revelation 4:8 | Worship of the Lamb; Sanctification | four living creatures | Isaiah 6:3 (Trisagion) | High. Reuse Quduus [Romans TM] exactly. |
| Revelation 4:9-11 | Sovereignty of God over History; Worship | twenty-four elders | 1 Kings 19:16 (elder motif); 1 Chronicles 24 (priestly order pattern) | Medium. |
| Passage | Theme | Related Character | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|
| Revelation 5:5 | Messianic Promise; Davidic Covenant | Lion of Judah, Root of David | Genesis 49:9-10; Isaiah 11:1,10 | Critical. Direct messianic-lineage titles; cross-ref Romans seed_of_david. |
| Revelation 5:6 | Worship of the Lamb; Judgment and Vindication (atonement ground) | the Lamb | Isaiah 53:7; Zechariah 4:10; Exodus 12 (Passover lamb typology) | Critical. Foundational occurrence of arníon/Wanka; combines sacrificial death with sovereign fullness (“seven horns, seven eyes”). |
| Revelation 5:8-10 | Worship of the Lamb; Church | redeemed multitude | Exodus 19:6; Isaiah 42:10 | High. |
| Revelation 5:11-14 | Worship of the Lamb; Deity of Christ | every creature | Daniel 7:10 | Critical. The Lamb receives worship identical to that given “him who sits on the throne” — see 07’s proskynéō treatment. |
Chapter 6 — The Seven Seals
| Passage | Theme | Related Character | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|
| Revelation 6:1-8 | Sovereignty of God over History | four horsemen | Zechariah 1:8-11; 6:1-8 | Medium. Symbolic-historical imagery, not a literal-predictive checklist. |

Chapter 7 — The 144,000 and the Great Multitude
| Passage | Theme | Related Character | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|
| Revelation 7:1-8 | Symbolic Interpretation; Vindication of the Saints | twelve tribes | Ezekiel 9:4-6; Genesis 49 | Medium. Requires teaching note against literalistic-exclusive headcount reading. |
| Revelation 7:9-10 | Universal Scope of the Gospel | great multitude | Leviticus 23:40; Zechariah 14:16-19 | High. Direct parallel to Romans’ Unity-of-Jews-and-Gentiles doctrine. |
| Revelation 7:14 | Judgment/Vindication; atonement | martyrs | Exodus 12; Isaiah 1:18 | Critical. Cross-ref Romans imputed_righteousness — cleansing by blood, not deeds. |
| Revelation 7:16-17 | New Heaven and New Earth (anticipatory) | the Lamb as Shepherd | Isaiah 49:10; Psalm 23:1-2; Isaiah 25:8 | High. Direct internal echo of Revelation 21:4 — “wipe away every tear.” Must render both passages with matching Somali vocabulary. |
Chapters 8–9 — Trumpets and the Woes
| Passage | Theme | Related Character | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|
| Revelation 8:5 | Judgment of the Wicked | — | Ezekiel 10:2 | Low. |

| Revelation 8:10-11 | Judgment of the Wicked | — | Jeremiah 9:15; 23:15 | Low. |
| Revelation 8:12 | Judgment; Exodus typology | — | Exodus 10:21-23 (9th plague) | Medium. |
| Revelation 9:1-11 | Judgment; Sovereignty over History | Abaddon/Apollyon | Exodus 10:12-15 (8th plague); Joel 1:6-7; 2:4-10 | High. Locust-army imagery; cross-ref Jinniyo caution (07/08). |
| Revelation 9:20-21 | Judgment of the Wicked; idolatry | — | Psalm 115:4-7; Deuteronomy 4:28 | Medium. |
Synthesis: Chapters 8–9 are structured as a deliberate, systematic recapitulation of the Exodus plague sequence, teaching that end-time judgment repeats the pattern of God’s historical judgment on Egypt — reinforcing Sovereignty of God over History as a doctrine grounded in precedent, not novelty.
| Passage | Theme | Related Character | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|
| Revelation 10:1-2 | Sovereignty of God over History | angel | Ezekiel 1:27; Daniel 10:5-6 | Medium. |

Chapter 11 — The Two Witnesses
| Passage | Theme | Related Character | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|
| Revelation 11:1-2 | Church as God’s People; Symbolic Interpretation | — | Ezekiel 40:3 | Medium. |
| Revelation 11:3-6 | Perseverance and Faithful Witness | Moses, Elijah (typology) | Zechariah 4:2-3,11-14; Malachi 4:5-6; 1 Kings 17:1; Exodus 7:17-20 | High. Two witnesses embody the church’s prophetic office through Moses/Elijah typology. |
| Revelation 11:7-10 | Persecution | the beast | Daniel 7:21 | High. |
| Revelation 11:11-12 | Resurrection | the two witnesses | Ezekiel 37:5,10 | Critical. Direct typological echo of the valley of dry bones; must be visually consistent with Sarakicidda [Romans TM]. |
| Revelation 11:15 | Return and Reign of Christ; Kingdom of God | Christ | Daniel 2:44; 7:14,27; Exodus 15:18 | Critical. Reuse Boqortooyada Ilaah and Rabbiga/Masiixa exactly. |
| Revelation 11:19 | Sovereignty of God over History; Covenant | — | Exodus 25:10-22; 1 Kings 8:1-11 | Medium. |
Chapter 12 — The Woman, the Child, and the Dragon
| Passage | Theme | Related Character | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|
| Revelation 12:1-2 | Church as Bride of Christ (background); Messianic Promise | the woman | Genesis 37:9-10; Isaiah 66:7-8; Micah 4:9-10 | Medium. See 07’s caution against equating the woman with Mary without qualification. |

| Revelation 12:7-9 | Assurance of Final Victory over Evil | Michael, the ancient serpent | Genesis 3:1,14-15; Daniel 10:13,21; 12:1; Isaiah 14:12 | Critical. The Genesis 3:15 protoevangelium is the interpretive root of the entire dragon/serpent identity chain running through Revelation; must be cross-referenced explicitly in teaching notes. |
| Revelation 12:10-11 | Perseverance; Assurance | the accuser (Satan) | Job 1:6-11; Zechariah 3:1-2 | Critical. Contrast with Christ’s/the Spirit’s intercession; cross-ref Romans intercession / Dhexdhexaadinta. |
| Revelation 12:14 | Sovereignty of God over History | the woman | Exodus 19:4; Deuteronomy 32:11 | Medium. |
Synthesis: Chapter 12 is the theological hinge connecting Genesis 3 (the Fall and the first messianic promise) to Revelation 20 (the dragon’s final defeat) — the single most important typological throughline in the whole book for the Assurance-of-Final-Victory-over-Evil doctrine.
Chapter 13 — The Two Beasts
| Passage | Theme | Related Character | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|
| Revelation 13:1-2 | Symbolic Interpretation; Judgment | the beast | Daniel 7:2-7 | Critical. Composite of Daniel’s four beasts into one; see 07’s Dajjāl caution. |
| Revelation 13:5-6 | Persecution | the beast | Daniel 7:8,25 | High. |
| Revelation 13:7 | Symbolic Interpretation | the beast | Daniel 7:14 | High. Deliberate ironic inversion — dominion “over every tribe and people and language and nation” is Daniel’s language for the Son of Man’s kingdom, here parodied by the beast. Must be flagged so translators do not flatten this into an unrelated stock phrase. |
| Revelation 13:11-15 | Worship (false); Judgment | second beast | Daniel 3:1-7 | High. |
| Revelation 13:18 | Symbolic Interpretation | — | (numerological; no direct OT citation) | High. Flag interpretive debate; do not assert single confident identification. |

Chapter 21 (verses 9–27 — the New Jerusalem Described)
Verses 1–8 receive full verse-by-verse treatment in analysis/07_semantic_analysis.md Part 1 and are the core passage; cross-references for those verses are consolidated in Part B below. This section covers 21:9-27.
| Passage | Theme | Related Character | OT/NT Connection | Translation Sensitivity |
|---|
| Revelation 21:9-10 | Church as Bride of Christ | John (visionary) | Ezekiel 40:1-2 | High. John’s vision structure directly mirrors Ezekiel’s temple-vision structure (Ezekiel 40–48) — a sustained typological pattern, not an isolated echo. |

Chapter 22 — The River of Life and the Book’s Closing Words

|---|
| Revelation 22:1-2 | New Heaven and New Earth | — | Ezekiel 47:1,7,12; Genesis 2:9-10 | High. Dual typology: Eden restored and Ezekiel’s temple-river fulfilled simultaneously. |
| Revelation 22:3 | New Heaven and New Earth | — | Genesis 3:17-19; Zechariah 14:11 | Critical. Direct reversal-typology of the Fall’s curse. |

| Revelation 22:10 | Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation | — | Daniel 12:4,9 | High. Deliberate reversal: Daniel is told to seal; John is told not to seal — signals the arrival of the time of fulfillment. Must be flagged as intertextual contrast, not agreement. |
| Revelation 22:12 | Judgment of the Wicked; Return and Reign | Christ | Isaiah 40:10; 62:11; Psalm 62:12; Proverbs 24:12 | Critical. Same “repay according to deeds” OT background as Romans 2:6 and Revelation 20:12 — see Part D. |

| Revelation 22:18-19 | Inspiration of Scripture | — | Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32 | High. Direct near-verbatim covenant-document formula; natural anchor for addressing the Islamic tahrīf claim (see baseline Inspiration-of-Scripture doctrine). |
| Revelation 22:20 | Deity of Christ; Worship; Return and Reign | Christ | 1 Corinthians 16:22 (“Marana tha”) | Critical. Direct NT-to-NT liturgical parallel; cross-ref Romans 10:9. |
Part B — Core Passage Cross-Reference Consolidation (Revelation 21:1-8)
| Verse | OT/NT Connection | Doctrine Anchor | Consistency Rule |
|---|
| Revelation 21:1 | Isaiah 65:17; 66:22 (new heavens and new earth); Genesis 1:1 (envelope with creation) | New Heaven and New Earth | Render kainós consistently with Revelation 2–3’s “new name,” 3:12’s “new Jerusalem,” 5:9’s “new song,” 21:5’s “I make all things new” — same Somali root (cusub) throughout the whole book. |
| Revelation 21:2 | Isaiah 61:10 (bride adorned); Ezekiel 16 (covenant-marriage imagery, contrastively); completed at Revelation 19:7-9 | Church as Bride of Christ | Must match the rendering of nýmphē used at Revelation 19:7; 21:9. |
| Revelation 21:3 | Exodus 25–40 (tabernacle); Leviticus 26:11-12; Jeremiah 31:33; Ezekiel 37:27 (covenant formula); John 1:14 (Word tabernacled) | Sovereignty of God over History; Church as God’s People | The covenant formula “they will be his people, and God himself will be with them” must be cross-referenced in teaching notes to Axdiga [Romans TM] as its fulfillment, not treated as new content. |
| Revelation 21:4 | Isaiah 25:8 (swallow up death, wipe away tears) — also occurs verbatim in theme at Revelation 7:17 | Assurance of God’s Final Victory; New Heaven and New Earth | Render identically to Revelation 7:17’s “wipe away every tear” clause — the two passages must use matching Somali phrasing since they are the same promise stated twice. |
| Revelation 21:5 | Isaiah 43:19 (“I am doing a new thing”); recapitulates Revelation 21:1 | New Heaven and New Earth | See v.1 consistency rule. |
| Revelation 21:6 | Isaiah 55:1 (freely, without price) — also occurs at Revelation 22:17 | Grace | Render dōreán identically at Revelation 21:6 and 22:17; cross-ref Romans 3:24; 4:4-5; 11:5-6 grace-vs-merit validation rule. |
| Revelation 21:7 | 2 Samuel 7:14 (father-son covenant formula, of David’s line, extended); completes Revelation 2–3’s “the one who conquers” refrain | Perseverance and Faithful Witness; Church as Bride/Adoption | Cross-ref Romans adoption / Sheegasho carruurnimo. |
| Revelation 21:8 | Deuteronomy 27–28 (covenant curses for specific sins); Leviticus 18-20 (vice lists); parallel list at Revelation 22:15 | Judgment of the Wicked | Render the vice list identically (or near-identically) at Revelation 21:8 and 22:15. |
Part C — Messianic References Summary
| OT Text | Messianic Content | Revelation Fulfillment/Echo | Romans Parallel |

| Daniel 9:24-27 | Anointed one cut off; consummation | Revelation 5; 19-20 (typological, not direct citation) | — |
| Micah 5:2 | Ruler from Bethlehem, from ancient days | Revelation 22:13 (eternality claim) | — |
| Zechariah 9:9 | King enters humbly, on a donkey | (contrast) Revelation 19:11 — the king returns in judgment on a warhorse, completing the two advents | — |
| Zechariah 12:10 | ”They will look on me, whom they have pierced” | Revelation 1:7 | — |
| Zechariah 14:9 | The LORD will be king over all the earth | Revelation 11:15; 19:6 | Romans 14:11 (every knee will bow — Isaiah 45:23, not identical but thematically parallel) |
Part D — Parallels to the Romans Curriculum
Because Somali learners will move between the Romans and Revelation Language Packages, the following table locks in citation- and rendering-consistency rules wherever the two books quote, echo, or theologically depend on shared material.
| Shared Ground | Romans Citation | Revelation Citation | Doctrine(s) | Consistency Rule |
|---|
| ”Repay each according to his deeds” (Psalm 62:12; Proverbs 24:12) | Romans 2:6 | Revelation 20:12-13; 22:12 | Judgment; Grace vs. Deeds | Render the underlying Somali phrase for “repaid/rewarded according to what he has done” identically across all three references; teach as one consistent biblical principle of judgment-by-evidence rather than three separate claims. |
| Grace given freely, apart from merit (dōreán, χάρις) | Romans 3:24; 4:4-5; 11:5-6 | Revelation 21:6; 22:17 | Grace | Reuse Nimco and Bilaash exactly; the grace-vs-camal wanaagsan validation rule from 12_ai_translation_requirements.md applies identically to Revelation content. |
| ”Jesus is Lord” / direct address to the risen Christ as Lord | Romans 10:9-10 | Revelation 22:20 (“Come, Lord Jesus”) | Lordship/Deity of Christ | Reuse Rabbiga at full, unqualified force in both; Revelation 22:20 is this Package’s climactic devotional counterpart to Romans’ salvation confession and must carry equal weight. |
| Creation’s groaning and future liberation | Romans 8:19-22 | Revelation 21:1,4-5 | New Heaven and New Earth; Sovereignty of God over History | Teach Revelation 21 explicitly as the answer to Romans 8’s unfulfilled longing — the same cosmic-renewal doctrine, narrated rather than argued. Use Cusub consistently for the qualitative-newness sense flagged in 07/08. |
| Nothing can separate the believer from God’s love / present assurance | Romans 8:31-39 | Revelation 21:3-4,7 | Assurance of God’s Final Victory over Evil | Cross-reference explicitly in teaching notes; both passages ground assurance in God’s own settled decree/promise, not probabilistic hope — consistent with the baseline’s Assurance-of-Salvation caution regarding Islamic soteriology’s deferred certainty. |
| Election / sovereign, personal choosing | Romans 9:11-13; 11:5-7,29 | Revelation 17:14 (“called and chosen and faithful”) | Election; Sovereignty of God over History | Reuse Doorashada Ilaah and Loo yeedhay exactly. |
| Universal sin and the curse of Adam | Romans 5:12-19 | Revelation 22:3 (“no more curse”) | New Heaven and New Earth; Universal Human Accountability | Teach Revelation 22:3 as the explicit reversal of the very curse Romans 5 traces to Adam — a single continuous doctrine of Fall-and-restoration. |
| Righteousness as forensic standing vs. deeds as evidence | Romans 3:21-28; 4:1-8 | Revelation 19:8 (“righteous deeds of the saints”) | Righteousness; Vindication of the Saints | Caution required. Revelation 19:8 must be taught as the fruit of already-imputed righteousness (Xaqnimo loo xisaabiyay), not a re-introduction of a deeds-based ground of standing; do not let “righteous deeds” (Revelation 19:8) be read against “not by works” (Romans 3:28, 4:4-5) as though Revelation retracts Romans. |
| Universal scope of the gospel call, “no distinction” | Romans 3:29-30; 10:12-13 | Revelation 5:9; 7:9; 21:24-26 | Universal Scope of the Gospel; Unity of Jews and Gentiles | Retain identical all-inclusive, clan-blind rendering conventions established in the baseline validation rules; Revelation’s “every tribe, language, people, and nation” formula (5:9; 7:9; 13:7; 14:6) must never be softened. |
| Obedience flowing from faith, not earning standing | Romans 1:5; 16:26 | Revelation 14:12 (“keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus”) | Obedience of Faith; Perseverance | Cross-ref Adeecidda rumaysadka; Revelation 14:12 pairs hypomonē (endurance) with faith in exactly the relationship Romans establishes — obedience as fruit, not ground. |
| The confession/title cluster “Amen” | Romans (Aamiin used doxologically, e.g. Romans 11:36; 16:27) | Revelation 3:14; 19:11; 21:5; 22:20-21 | Assurance of God’s Final Victory | Reuse Aamiin exactly; Revelation elevates “Amen” from doxological closing formula to a personal title of Christ — flag this development explicitly in teaching notes rather than treating it as unrelated vocabulary. |
Part E — Typological Patterns Across the Whole Book
| Type (OT) | Antitype/Fulfillment (Revelation) | Doctrine |
|---|
| Eden: tree of life, river, unbroken presence of God, no death (Genesis 2) | New Jerusalem: tree of life, river, God’s presence, no death (Revelation 21-22) | New Heaven and New Earth |
| The Fall: serpent, curse, expulsion, death (Genesis 3) | The dragon defeated, curse removed, death abolished, access restored (Revelation 12; 20; 21:4; 22:3) | Assurance of Final Victory over Evil |
| The Passover lamb (Exodus 12) | The Lamb who was slain (Revelation 5, and throughout) | Worship of the Lamb; Atonement |
| The Exodus deliverance and Song of Moses (Exodus 14-15) | Final deliverance and the Song of Moses and the Lamb (Revelation 15:3-4) | Sovereignty of God over History |
| The tabernacle/temple, God’s dwelling with Israel (Exodus 25-40; 1 Kings 8) | God’s unmediated dwelling with his people; no separate temple needed (Revelation 21:3,22) | Sovereignty of God; Church as God’s People |
| Ezekiel’s temple-vision and measuring (Ezekiel 40-48) | John’s New Jerusalem vision and measuring (Revelation 21:9-21) | New Heaven and New Earth; Symbolic Interpretation |
| Ezekiel’s valley of dry bones (Ezekiel 37) | The two witnesses raised; the first resurrection (Revelation 11:11; 20:4-6) | Resurrection; Return and Reign of Christ |
| Daniel’s four beasts and the Ancient of Days’ judgment (Daniel 7) | The beast from the sea; the great white throne judgment (Revelation 13; 20:11-15) | Judgment of the Wicked; Symbolic Interpretation |
| Israel as YHWH’s unfaithful/faithful bride (Hosea 2; Ezekiel 16; Isaiah 62) | The Church as Christ’s prepared, faithful Bride (Revelation 19:7-9; 21:2,9) | Church as Bride of Christ |
| Babylon’s historical destruction of Jerusalem and exile of Israel (2 Kings 24-25) | Babylon (the world-system) judged and fallen forever (Revelation 17-18) | Judgment of the Wicked; Sovereignty over History |
| Gog’s assault on restored Israel (Ezekiel 38-39) | Gog and Magog’s final, futile assault after the millennium (Revelation 20:7-10) | Assurance of Final Victory over Evil |
| Moses’ prophetic office, rejected yet vindicated (Exodus; Numbers) | The two witnesses’ prophetic office, killed yet vindicated (Revelation 11) | Perseverance and Faithful Witness |
Part F — Chapters with No New Cross-Reference Load (Explicit Coverage Note)
Every chapter of Revelation (1–22) carries at least one load-bearing OT connection tabulated above; none are without theological cross-reference weight, a distinctive feature of this book’s densely allusive apocalyptic style compared to Romans’ more argumentative register. No chapter is therefore recorded as “reviewed, no new content” — this itself is noted as a structural finding: the Symbolic and Apocalyptic Interpretation doctrine applies to the entire book, not to isolated passages, and Phase 2 review routing should assume every chapter requires OT-background-aware review, not only the chapters containing Critical-tier terms.
This document must be loaded alongside analysis/07_semantic_analysis.md and analysis/08_core_glossary.md before Step 2 (Requirements) drafting begins. Citation and rendering-consistency rules in Parts B and D are binding on all Phase 2 segment translation of Revelation content and on any future harmonization pass across the Romans and Revelation Language Packages.
