Freiheit carries Luther’s own ‘Von der Freiheit eines Christenmenschen’ resonance alongside secular/political associations; every occurrence needs enough context that the Christ-given, law-and-sin-liberating sense is unmistakable. The Hagar/Sarah allegory (4:21-31) must stay signposted as allegory, not a claim about any people’s later status.
