The law/grace antithesis is Galatians’ argumentative backbone and directly continues the Romans baseline’s Werkgerechtigkeit caution. Gesetz (never a competing legal-system framing) must remain confined to the Mosaic Law except where Galatians 6:2 deliberately reappropriates the word for Christ’s love-command.
