|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 Peter 1:2 | Exodus 24:8 | Christ’s Substitutionary Suffering | Moses | Allusion/typology (Sinai covenant blood-sprinkling) | High — “रगताचें शिंपडप” must read as covenant-inaugurating, echoing Sinai, not a ritual-purification act; pairs with baseline करार (covenant) |
| 2 | 1 Peter 1:10-12 | OT prophets generally (cf. Isaiah 53; Psalm 22; Daniel 9) | Fulfillment of Prophecy; Inspiration of Scripture | OT prophets (“Spirit of Christ” in them) | Allusion | High — must affirm linear historical fulfillment (prophets foretelling Christ’s sufferings and glory), never a cyclical/avatar-repetition reading; connects to baseline “fulfillment_of_prophecy” doctrine |
| 3 | 1 Peter 1:16 | Leviticus 11:44-45; 19:2; 20:7 | Holiness in Conduct | — (divine speech) | Direct quotation | High — reuses baseline पवित्र (Holy, High); standard must be grounded in God’s own holiness, not ritual/caste purity |
| 4 | 1 Peter 1:18-19 | Exodus 12 (Passover lamb); Isaiah 52:3 | Christ’s Substitutionary Suffering | Moses; Passover lamb (type) | Typology + allusion | Critical — “निर्दोष आनी निष्कलंक कोंकरूं” (lamb without blemish) must be explicitly distinguished from ongoing Hindu Shakta blood-sacrifice ritual (बली); “मोल भरून सोडवप” (redeemed) must never collapse into मुक्ती/मोक्ष |
| 5 | 1 Peter 1:24-25 | Isaiah 40:6-8 | Living Hope of the Resurrection (enduring word vs. perishable flesh) | — | Direct quotation | Medium — pairs अविनाशी/नाशवंत (imperishable/perishable) motif already established at 1:4, 1:7, 1:23 |

| 7 | 1 Peter 2:5 | Exodus 19:5-6 (temple/priesthood background) | Church as a Holy and Royal Priesthood | Moses; Israel | Typology | Critical — “आत्मिक घर,” “पवित्र याजकपण” must not be read as a caste-restricted priestly office |

| 16 | 1 Peter 3:6 | Genesis 18:12 | Submission to Authority and Christlike Endurance | Sarah; Abraham | Allusion | Medium-High — Sarah calling Abraham “lord” (धनी) must use a term distinct from प्रभू (reserved exclusively for Christ’s Lordship, Critical baseline term) to avoid diluting Christ’s unique Lordship |

| 19 | 1 Peter 3:18-21 | Genesis 6-8 (Noah, the flood) | Christ’s Proclamation to the Spirits; Living Hope (baptism typology) | Noah | Typology | Critical — exegetically disputed passage; render literally, do not resolve interpretive debate in translation; mandatory Human theologian review at every occurrence |

B. Additional Allusions and Background Connections
| 1 Peter passage | Background | Theme | Sensitivity |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Peter 1:1 | Diaspora/exile theology (Deuteronomy 30:4; Jeremiah 29:4-7) | Christian identity as sojourners | Medium — परदेशी/विखर (sojourner/dispersion) frame believers’ present social location, not a punitive exile |

| 1 Peter 1:7 | Refining-fire/gold imagery (Job 23:10; Zechariah 13:9; Malachi 3:2-3) | Suffering for Righteousness’ Sake | High — विश्वासाची पारख (testing of faith) as purposive refining, not karmic consequence |
| 1 Peter 2:11 | Sojourner identity reprised (cf. Psalm 39:12; Genesis 23:4) | Holiness in Conduct | Medium |

| 1 Peter 3:19-20 | Second Temple Jewish background on “spirits in prison” (cf. Genesis 6:1-4; extra-biblical Enoch tradition informs but is not Scripture) | Christ’s Proclamation to the Spirits | Critical — reviewers should be aware of the wider ancient interpretive background but the Konkani rendering must stay strictly within the biblical text itself, adding no extra-canonical content |
| 1 Peter 4:1-3 | Vice-list background (cf. Romans 1:29-31; Galatians 5:19-21) | Holiness in Conduct | Critical (cultural) — includes εἰδωλολατρία/मूर्तीपूजा; see 08_core_glossary.md item 44 |

| Type/Figure | OT root | 1 Peter fulfillment/echo | Theological point | Konkani sensitivity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Passover Lamb | Exodus 12 | 1 Peter 1:18-19 | Christ as the once-for-all, spotless sacrificial substitute | Critical — must not be assimilated to regional bali sacrifice ritual; a completed, unrepeatable sacrifice |

| Shepherd | Ezekiel 34; Psalm 23 | 1 Peter 2:25; 5:4 | Christ as Shepherd and Overseer of souls; Chief Shepherd over human elders | Critical for अर्चिपोइमेन्/मुखेल मेंढपाळ — anchors “Elders and Humility” doctrine |
| Noah/Flood-Ark deliverance | Genesis 6-9 | 1 Peter 3:20-21 | Water that judged the world becomes, in type, the water of baptism’s appeal to God | Critical — baptism (बाप्तिस्मा) must be distinguished from ritual bathing/tīrtha practice; salvation is “through” water typologically, not by water’s ritual power |
| Covenant-inaugurating blood | Exodus 24:8 | 1 Peter 1:2 | Christ’s blood inaugurates the New Covenant as Moses’ sprinkled blood inaugurated the Old | High — reuses baseline करार |
| Royal priesthood / holy nation (Israel as covenant people) | Exodus 19:5-6 | 1 Peter 2:9 | The church inherits and fulfills Israel’s priestly-national vocation | Critical — named doctrine; corporate, not caste-restricted |

E. Rendering-Consistency Rules for Shared Quotations
Rule R1 — “Stone” texts (Isaiah 28:16; Psalm 118:22; Isaiah 8:14). 1 Peter 2:6-8 and Romans 9:33/10:11 quote the same Isaiah/Psalm “stone” texts, and Psalm 118:22 is also quoted independently in the Synoptic Gospels and Acts 4:11 (Peter’s own sermon). A single fixed Konkani rendering for “cornerstone” (कोनशिलेचो फातर), “stone the builders rejected” (नाकारिल्लो फातर बांदणाऱ्यांनी), and “stone of stumbling/rock of offense” (अडखळचो फातर आनी ठेच लागपाचो खडक) must be adopted in translation memory and reused verbatim in every occurrence across Romans, the Gospels, Acts, and 1 Peter within this pipeline. Do not allow synonym variation (e.g., दगड vs. फातर) between books.
Rule R2 — Hosea “not my people / my people” text (Hosea 1:6,9; 2:23).
1 Peter 2:10 and Romans 9:25-26 quote the identical Hosea material to make the identical doctrinal point (incorporation of formerly-excluded people into God’s covenant people). The Konkani rendering of “once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people” must be fixed once (proposed: “पयलीं तुमी लोक नासले, पूण आतां देवाचे लोक” / “पयलीं तुमकां दया मेळनासली, पूण आतां तुमकां दया मेळ्ळी”) and reused identically in both books. This is flagged High risk because the doctrine (Unity of Jews and Gentiles / no caste distinction in God’s people) is itself flagged High-Critical in the Romans baseline registry (unity_of_jews_and_gentiles).
Rule R3 — Submission-to-authority vocabulary (Romans 13:1-7 / 1 Peter 2:13-17 / Titus 3:1 / 1 Timothy 2:1-2). अधीन जावप (submit/be subject) must be the single fixed rendering of ὑποτάσσω across every occurrence in this pipeline’s books, with the same pastoral qualification each time: voluntary, Christlike submission modeled on Christ’s own example, never coerced subjugation, and never read through a caste-submission or colonial-obedience lens.
Rule R4 — Suffering Servant vocabulary (Isaiah 53 in 1 Peter 2:21-25; also echoed in Matthew’s Passion narrative and Acts 8:32-33 [Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch] if processed in this pipeline). Konkani renderings for “wounds” (जखम), “bore our sins” (आमच्यो पापां वागवल्यो), and “like sheep going astray” must be fixed once for Isaiah 53 wherever it is quoted across this pipeline’s curricula.
Rule R5 — Resurrection and baptism vocabulary (Romans 6:1-11 / 1 Corinthians 15 / 1 Peter 1:3, 3:21). पुनरुत्थान (resurrection, Critical baseline) and बाप्तिस्मा (baptism, High) must never vary in spelling or be substituted with alternatives across any book in this pipeline.
Rule R6 — Grace/works contrast (Romans 3-4, 11:5-6 / 1 Peter 1:10, 5:12). Wherever grace (कृपा) is set against merit, works, or ritual/ascetic achievement, both books must preserve the identical contrastive structure the Romans baseline system prompt already mandates for Romans 4:4-5 and 11:5-6.
