Core Glossary

08 — Core Glossary: 1 Timothy

This glossary extends the Romans-baseline translation_memory.json for the 1 Timothy curriculum. Section A lists terms reused exactly from the baseline (no changes permitted). Section B lists new terms introduced by 1 Timothy, organized by the curriculum’s eight named doctrines, with a final appendix of additional supporting vocabulary. All new entries must be merged into translation_memory.json (version incremented) before Phase 2 translation begins, per the AI Translation Requirements’ Translation Memory Load and Enforcement Instructions.

mysteryμυστήριονरहस्यrahasyaCritical(no viable substitute identified; risk managed via mandatory translator note)3:9, 3:16. Sharpest collision-risk term in the book — reverses the Hindu-tradition sense of “rahasya” as an esoteric secret; biblical mystery is now openly proclaimed to all.
mystery of godlinessτὸ τῆς εὐσεβείας μυστήριονदेवनिष्ठेचें रहस्यdevaniṣṭhece rahasyaCritical3:16. Introduces the incarnation/deity-of-Christ creedal fragment; cross-reference baseline incarnation, deity_of_christ, resurrection_of_christ.

masterδεσπότηςधनीdhanīMedium6:1-2.

Doctrine 8: Guarding the Deposit of Faith

Cross-Reference Notes for Phase 2

  1. देवनिष्ठा (godliness) is a newly coined compound for this curriculum, not present in the Romans baseline. It must be entered into translation_memory.json before any Phase 2 segment translation and used identically at every occurrence across all six chapters.
  2. रहस्य (mystery) and मध्यस्थ (mediator) are this curriculum’s two highest-risk new terms (Critical), given their acute collision with, respectively, the regional esoteric-teaching category “rahasya” and the multiple mediating figures (saints, priests, gurus) present across Goa’s Catholic and Hindu traditions. Both require mandatory human theologian review at every occurrence, consistent with the baseline’s escalation rules.
  3. Per the baseline’s Theological Consistency Rules Across Documents, all Section A terms must remain byte-for-byte identical to the Romans baseline; any apparent contextual mismatch (e.g., “conscience” appearing far more often here than in Romans) does not justify altering the established renderings of terms Romans already fixed.
  4. This glossary’s Section B entries should be merged into a single project-wide translation_memory.json (version incremented) prior to Phase 2, per the Translation Memory Load and Enforcement Instructions in 12_ai_translation_requirements.md.

Critical Risk Terms

Righteousness

Approved rendering: नीतिमत्ता
Transliteration: nītimattā
Doctrine: Godliness and Contentment
Rejected alternatives: धर्म, पुण्य, न्याय
Original: δικαιοσύνη
Category: Salvation

Inherited from Romans package, reused exactly; never धर्म. Listed among virtues Timothy must pursue, 6:11.

Salvation

Approved rendering: तारण
Transliteration: tāraṇ
Doctrine: Role of Women in Worship and the ‘Saved in Childbearing’ Crux
Rejected alternatives: मुक्ती, मोक्ष, सुटका
Original: σωτηρία / σῴζω
Category: Salvation

Inherited from Romans package, reused exactly; never मुक्ती/मोक्ष. Root underlies तारक (Savior) below and the disputed crux at 2:15.

God

Approved rendering: देव
Transliteration: dev
Doctrine: Nature and Attributes of the One True God
Rejected alternatives: भगवान
Original: θεός
Category: God

Inherited from Romans package, reused exactly. MUST carry an exclusivity marker (एकच देव / एकच खरो देव) in every doctrinally load-bearing occurrence, especially 1:17 (‘only wise God’) and 2:5 (‘one God’).

Lord

Approved rendering: प्रभू
Transliteration: prabhū
Doctrine: The Good Confession and Christ’s Sole Sovereignty
Rejected alternatives: स्वामी, मालक
Original: κύριος
Category: Christology

Inherited from Romans package, reused exactly. 1:2, 1:12, 1:14, 6:3; compounded as ‘Lord of lords’ 6:15.

Jesus

Approved rendering: येशू
Transliteration: yeśū
Doctrine: The Good Confession and Christ’s Sole Sovereignty
Rejected alternatives: जेजू
Original: Ἰησοῦς
Category: Christology

Inherited from Romans package, reused exactly; never जेजू (Romi Konkani Catholic spelling).

Christ

Approved rendering: ख्रिस्त
Transliteration: khrist
Doctrine: The Good Confession and Christ’s Sole Sovereignty

Inherited transliteration standard established across this pipeline’s 12_ai_translation_requirements.md; reused exactly as ख्रिस्त येशू throughout 1 Timothy (e.g. 1:1, 6:13-14).

Father

Approved rendering: पिता
Transliteration: pitā
Doctrine: Nature and Attributes of the One True God
Rejected alternatives: ब्रह्मा, निर्माणकार
Original: πατήρ
Category: God

Inherited from Romans package, reused exactly. Opening greeting, 1:2.

Holy Spirit

Approved rendering: पवित्र आत्मा
Transliteration: pavitra ātmā
Doctrine: Spiritual Warfare and Deceptive Teaching
Rejected alternatives: ब्रह्म, परमात्मा
Original: πνεῦμα ἅγιον / τὸ Πνεῦμα
Category: God

Inherited from Romans package, reused exactly; never ब्रह्म/परमात्मा. 4:1’s personal, prophetic Spirit is set in sharp, textually explicit contrast with भ्रामक आत्मे (deceiving spirits) in the same verse.

Mediator

Approved rendering: मध्यस्थ
Transliteration: madhyastha
Doctrine: Christ as the One Mediator
Rejected alternatives: गुरू, संत
Original: μεσίτης
Category: Christology

New term, built on the same root as established मध्यस्थी (intercession) but a distinct agent-noun for Christ himself. A genuinely acute local risk: Goan Catholic tradition approaches saints/Mary as intercessory mediators; Goan Hindu temple practice relies on priests (purohit) and gurus as ritually necessary intermediaries. Must carry an explicit exclusivity note excluding all other mediating figures at every occurrence. 2:5. Human theologian review mandatory.

Saved In Childbearing

Approved rendering: बाळंतपणांत तारण मेळटलें (working gloss, pending theologian resolution)
Transliteration: bāḷantpaṇānt tāraṇ meḷṭalẽ
Doctrine: Role of Women in Worship and the ‘Saved in Childbearing’ Crux
Original: σωθήσεται διὰ τῆς τεκνογονίας
Category: Salvation

One of the most exegetically difficult verses in the letter. Must carry an explicit translator note that this cannot be read as teaching salvation-by-the-work-of-childbearing, which would contradict the Critical justification-by-faith-alone doctrine. 2:15. Mandatory human theologian review before finalizing.

Mystery

Approved rendering: रहस्य
Transliteration: rahasya
Doctrine: The Mystery of Godliness (Incarnation and Deity of Christ)
Original: μυστήριον
Category: Faith

New term, no viable substitute identified; risk managed via mandatory translator note. रहस्य is heavily used across Hindu religious literature (Tantric rahasya texts, guru-transmitted secret teachings for initiates); biblical usage is the theological opposite — a truth once hidden, now openly proclaimed to all. 3:9, 3:16. Highest-priority fencing term in the letter; mandatory human theologian review at every occurrence.

Mystery Of Godliness

Approved rendering: देवनिष्ठेचें रहस्य
Transliteration: devaniṣṭhece rahasya
Doctrine: The Mystery of Godliness (Incarnation and Deity of Christ)
Original: τὸ τῆς εὐσεβείας μυστήριον
Category: Christology

New term, combining रहस्य and देवनिष्ठा. The following creedal fragment (‘manifest in the flesh…received up into glory’) directly engages the baseline’s Critical incarnation, deity_of_christ, and resurrection_of_christ doctrines; never suggest अवतार-style repeatable divine descent. 3:16.

King Of Kings Lord Of Lords

Approved rendering: राजांचो राजा आनी प्रभूंचो प्रभू
Transliteration: rājāṅco rājā āni prabhūṅco prabhū
Doctrine: The Good Confession and Christ’s Sole Sovereignty
Original: ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν βασιλευόντων καὶ κύριος τῶν κυριευόντων
Category: God

New term, built on the established प्रभू root. Directly reinforces the baseline lordship_of_christ doctrine’s exclusivity requirement; must never read as one revered lord among Goa’s several temple deities. 6:15.

High Risk Terms

Transliteration: suvārtā
Doctrine: Sound Doctrine versus False Teaching
Rejected alternatives: बरी खबर, शुभवर्तमान

Rejected alternatives: कर्मफळ, पुण्य, नशीब

Faith

Approved rendering: विश्वास
Transliteration: viśvās
Doctrine: Sound Doctrine versus False Teaching
Rejected alternatives: श्रद्धा, भक्ती
Original: πίστις
Category: Faith

Holy

Approved rendering: पवित्र
Transliteration: pavitra

Transliteration: pavitrīkaraṇ
Doctrine: Godliness and Contentment

Transliteration: gaurav
Doctrine: Nature and Attributes of the One True God
Rejected alternatives: तेज, देवीतेज
Original: δόξα

Approved rendering: बोलावलेले
Transliteration: bolāvlele
Doctrine: The Good Confession and Christ’s Sole Sovereignty
Rejected alternatives: आमंत्रित
Original: κλητός (implicit)
Category: Salvation

New term. Must retain the ὑγιαίνω ‘health-giving’ medical metaphor; never flatten to generic ‘good advice.’ Render identically at 1:10, 4:6, 6:3.

False Doctrine

Approved rendering: वेगळी शिकवण दिवप
Transliteration: vegḷī śikavaṇ divap
Doctrine: Sound Doctrine versus False Teaching
Rejected alternatives: खोटी शिकवण
Original: ἑτεροδιδασκαλέω
Category: Faith

New term. Deliberate contrastive pair with सुदृढ शिकवण; avoid खोटी शिकवण alone, which flattens the ‘other/deviant’ nuance into simple falsehood. 1:3, 6:3.

Myths And Genealogies

Approved rendering: दंतकथा आनी वंशावळी
Transliteration: dantakathā āni vanśāvaḷī
Doctrine: Rejection of Speculative Myths and Genealogies
Rejected alternatives: पुराणकथा
Original: μῦθοι καὶ γενεαλογίαι ἀπέραντοι
Category: Faith

New term. पुराणकथा rejected because it over-identifies with the revered Puranic genre (Mahalasa/Shantadurga legends; the Kristapurana precedent). Scope narrowly to speculative, faith-distracting fable, never to OT genealogy or sacred narrative generally. 1:4.

Deceiving Spirits

Approved rendering: भ्रामक आत्मे
Transliteration: bhrāmak ātme
Doctrine: Spiritual Warfare and Deceptive Teaching
Rejected alternatives: आत्मे (bare, without qualifier)
Original: πνεύματα πλάνα
Category: Spiritual Warfare

New term. भ्रामक is a mandatory qualifier at every occurrence, since आत्मा alone is the root of पवित्र आत्मा (Holy Spirit) and of the Hindu philosophical ‘atman.’ 4:1.

Demon

Approved rendering: भूत
Transliteration: bhūt
Doctrine: Spiritual Warfare and Deceptive Teaching
Rejected alternatives: दुरात्मा
Original: δαιμόνιον
Category: Spiritual Warfare

New term (established Marathi/Konkani NT rendering, retained here). Concrete collision with lived Goan folk belief in bhut-pret requiring propitiation and exorcism; every occurrence needs explicit framing as a defeated, hostile being never to be venerated, feared as autonomous, or appeased. 4:1.

Ascetic False Teaching

Approved rendering: लग्न करूंक बंदी, जेवणाचेर बंदी
Transliteration: lagna karūnk bandī, jevaṇācer bandī
Doctrine: Spiritual Warfare and Deceptive Teaching
Original: κωλυόντων γαμεῖν, ἀπέχεσθαι βρωμάτων
Category: Faith

New term (descriptive phrase). Directly confronts respected regional ascetic ideals (Brahminical vegetarianism, ritual food-purity codes, sannyasa celibacy); the counter-claim ‘every creature of God is good’ (4:4) must be rendered plainly, without softening. 4:3-4.

Knowledge Falsely Named

Approved rendering: खोट्या नांवाचें ज्ञान
Transliteration: khoṭyā nāṅvāce jñān
Doctrine: Guarding the Conscience and Rejecting False Knowledge
Rejected alternatives: नुस्तें ज्ञान
Original: ψευδώνυμος γνῶσις
Category: Faith

New term. ज्ञान (jñāna) is a major, respected Hindu soteriological category (jnana yoga/marga, Advaita Vedanta); the qualifier खोट्या नांवाचें is structurally essential and must never be dropped, since this verse rejects a specific counterfeit, not true knowledge of God (cf. 2:4). 6:20.

Deposit

Approved rendering: थेवणी
Transliteration: thevaṇī
Doctrine: Guarding the Deposit of Faith
Rejected alternatives: ठेव (acceptable regional variant, not preferred)
Original: παραθήκη
Category: Faith

New term. Names an entrusted legal/financial trust-deposit metaphor for apostolic teaching; pair consistently with जतनाय करप (‘to guard’). Must be understood as doctrinal, not literally financial. 6:20.

Overseer

Approved rendering: अध्यक्ष
Transliteration: adhyakṣa
Doctrine: Qualifications for Church Leadership (Elders and Deacons)
Rejected alternatives: बिशप
Original: ἐπίσκοπος / ἐπισκοπή
Category: Church Leadership

New term. बिशप rejected because in Goa’s dominant Roman Catholic tradition it denotes a single diocesan bishop over many parishes with apostolic-succession authority; this text assumes a plural, local-congregation office (cf. 5:17, functionally overlapping with ‘elder’). Mandatory translator note at first occurrence (3:1) distinguishing the two.

Deacon

Approved rendering: मंडळीचो सेवक
Transliteration: mandaḷīco sevak
Doctrine: Qualifications for Church Leadership (Elders and Deacons)
Rejected alternatives: सेवक (bare, without qualifier)
Original: διάκονος
Category: Church Leadership

New term. सेवक alone collides with the Goan Hindu temple devotional-service category sevā/sevak; the qualifying phrase मंडळीचो is mandatory every time this office is meant. 3:8-13.

Husband Of One Wife

Approved rendering: एका बायलेचो घोव
Transliteration: ekā bāylecho ghov
Doctrine: Qualifications for Church Leadership (Elders and Deacons)
Original: μιᾶς γυναικὸς ἄνδρα
Category: Church Leadership

New term. Literal formal-equivalence rendering, deliberately left interpretively open (monogamy / marital fidelity / no remarriage) pending pastoral/theological adjudication, given direct church-polity consequences. 3:2, 3:12. Mandatory human theologian review before any policy application.

Not A Lover Of Money

Approved rendering: धनलोभी न्हय
Transliteration: dhanlobhī nhay
Doctrine: Godliness and Contentment
Original: ἀφιλάργυρος
Category: Church Leadership

New term. Must be kept consistent with the positive form धनलोभ (6:10, ‘love of money is a root of all evil’). Directly confronts expectations that religious leaders profit from gifts/offerings as a mark of spiritual status. 3:3.

In Subjection

Approved rendering: अधीनताय
Transliteration: adhīnatāy
Doctrine: Qualifications for Church Leadership (Elders and Deacons)
Original: ὑποταγή
Category: Church Leadership

New term. Must be carefully distinguished from culturally loaded caste/gender subordination patterns in South Asian household structures; the text’s point is respectful order flowing from loving headship. 3:4; also 2:11.

Women Deacons Wives

Approved rendering: बायलो
Transliteration: bāylo
Doctrine: Qualifications for Church Leadership (Elders and Deacons)
Original: γυναῖκας
Category: Church Leadership

New term. Deliberately left as ambiguous in Konkani as γυναῖκας is in Greek (‘wives of deacons’ vs. ‘women deacons’); must not be resolved in translation. Flag for both native-speaker and human theologian review; record ‘women deacons’ as an alternative rendering considered. 3:11.

Ransom

Approved rendering: खंडणी
Transliteration: khaṇḍaṇī
Doctrine: Christ as the One Mediator
Original: ἀντίλυτρον
Category: Salvation

New term. Must be distinguished from any transactional offering-to-appease-a-deity framework (e.g. votive/naivedya offerings); this ransom is paid by God himself, for humanity, once. 2:6.

Savior

Approved rendering: तारक
Transliteration: tārak
Doctrine: Christ as the One Mediator
Rejected alternatives: रक्षक, मुक्तिदाता
Original: σωτήρ
Category: Salvation

New term, built directly on established तारण root for lexical coherence; never रक्षक (too generic) or मुक्तिदाता (risks मुक्ती/liberation-from-rebirth collision). Applied to God (1:1, 2:3, 4:10).

Good Confession

Approved rendering: जाहीर कबुली
Transliteration: jāhīr kabulī
Doctrine: The Good Confession and Christ’s Sole Sovereignty
Original: ὁμολογία καλή
Category: Christology

New term. Belongs to the same public-testimony genre as the baseline’s Romans 10:9 salvation confession; both Timothy’s confession (6:12) and Christ’s before Pilate (6:13) must use this same term family.

Prayer

Approved rendering: प्रार्थना
Transliteration: prārthanā
Doctrine: Public Worship and Prayer
Original: προσευχή
Category: Worship

New term. Also the common Konkani/Hindi word for petitionary prayer/puja-adjacent devotional address to a temple deity or image; every doctrinally load-bearing use must mark this as direct address to the one true God through Christ, with no ritual intermediary image, priestly caste-restriction, or intercessory saint. 2:1.

Exercise Authority Over

Approved rendering: अधिकार गाजोवप
Transliteration: adhikār gājovap
Doctrine: Role of Women in Worship and the ‘Saved in Childbearing’ Crux
Original: αὐθεντεῖν
Category: Worship

New term rendering a rare, contested Greek verb (αὐθεντεῖν) with real polity consequences; render per established formal-equivalence convention and flag for human theologian review rather than resolving the debate unilaterally. 2:12.

Living God

Approved rendering: जिवो देव
Transliteration: jivo dev
Doctrine: The Church as Pillar of Truth
Original: θεὸς ζῶν
Category: God

New term. Emphasizes God’s active, present reality, distinct from a consecrated but materially fixed temple image (murti). 3:15, 4:10.

Pillar And Foundation Of Truth

Approved rendering: सत्याचो खांबो आनी पाया
Transliteration: satyāco khāmbo āni pāyā
Doctrine: The Church as Pillar of Truth
Original: στῦλος καὶ ἑδραίωμα τῆς ἀληθείας
Category: Church

New term. Names the Church-as-Pillar-of-Truth doctrine directly; an institutional identity claim that must not be diluted into generic ‘good moral organization’ language. 3:15.

Conscience

Approved rendering: सद्सद्विवेकबुद्धी
Transliteration: sadsadvivekbuddhī
Doctrine: Guarding the Conscience and Rejecting False Knowledge
Original: συνείδησις
Category: Faith

New key term for this curriculum. Must be understood as a God-oriented moral faculty answerable to God, not merely social propriety or ritual purity codes. 1:5, 1:19, 3:9, 4:2.

Godliness

Approved rendering: देवनिष्ठा
Transliteration: devaniṣṭhā
Doctrine: Godliness and Contentment
Rejected alternatives: भक्ती, धार्मिकपणा
Original: εὐσέβεια
Category: Sanctification

Deliberately coined compound (देव + निष्ठा). भक्ती rejected (Goan Hindu temple-devotion connotation toward chosen deities); धार्मिकपणा rejected (shares forbidden धर्म root). Must be used identically at every occurrence: 2:2, 3:16, 4:7-8, 6:3, 6:5-6, 6:11. Human theologian review required for first-occurrence framing; coinage-stability is the primary ongoing risk.

Contentment

Approved rendering: समाधान
Transliteration: samādhān
Doctrine: Godliness and Contentment
Original: αὐτάρκεια
Category: Sanctification

New term. Must be distinguished from Stoic self-sufficiency and from Hindu vairagya (renunciation-based detachment achieved by one’s own discipline); biblical contentment is relational trust in God’s provision while remaining engaged in ordinary life. 6:6.

Love Of Money

Approved rendering: धनलोभ
Transliteration: dhanlobh
Doctrine: Godliness and Contentment
Original: φιλαργυρία
Category: Sanctification

New term. Must render consistently with धनलोभी (3:3); a much-quoted, easily-overstated verse (Greek says ‘a root,’ not ‘the root,’ of all kinds of evil) — flag for care in phrasing. 6:10.

Eternal Life

Approved rendering: सार्वकालिक जीवन
Transliteration: sārvakālik jīvan
Doctrine: Godliness and Contentment
Original: ζωὴ αἰώνιος
Category: Eschatology

New term. Must be clearly distinguished from moksha (liberation from rebirth into an impersonal ultimate state); eternal life here is relational fellowship with a personal God, not dissolution into an impersonal absolute or endless continuation of the atman. 6:12, 6:19.

Only Potentate

Approved rendering: एकच अधिपती
Transliteration: eklo-c adhipatī
Doctrine: Nature and Attributes of the One True God
Rejected alternatives: शक्ती-root terms, Maheshwar/Parameshwar-type honorifics
Original: μόνος δυνάστης
Category: God

New term, deliberately built from अधिपती (neutral political-sovereignty root) rather than any शक्ती-root word, consistent with the baseline’s forbidden-substitution rule for God’s power; also avoids honorific titles specifically associated with Shiva. 6:15.

Immortality

Approved rendering: अमरत्व
Transliteration: amaratva
Doctrine: Nature and Attributes of the One True God
Original: ἀθανασία
Category: God

New term. Must be distinguished from the Hindu doctrine of an inherently deathless atman; here immortality belongs to God alone by nature. 6:16.

Unapproachable Light

Approved rendering: अगम्य उजवाड
Transliteration: agamya ujavāḍ
Doctrine: Nature and Attributes of the One True God
Rejected alternatives: तेज-based renderings
Original: φῶς ἀπρόσιτον
Category: God

New term. The baseline generally prefers गौरव over तेज-based light imagery to avoid conflating with temple-luster iconography (aarti light, darshan radiance); this verse’s own explicit light-metaphor cannot be avoided, so it is rendered with उजवाड plus careful explanatory qualification. 6:16. Human theologian review flagged.

Widow Indeed

Approved rendering: खरी विधवा
Transliteration: kharī vidhavā
Doctrine: Care for Widows and the Household of Faith
Original: ὄντως χήρα
Category: Household Ethics

New term. Significant countercultural force against traditional South Asian Hindu social custom marginalizing widows (remarriage restriction, dress/diet codes, inauspiciousness stigma); teach with this contrast explicit. 5:3, 5:5, 5:16.

Denied The Faith

Approved rendering: विश्वास न्हकारलो
Transliteration: viśvās nhakārlo
Doctrine: Care for Widows and the Household of Faith
Original: τὴν πίστιν ἤρνηται
Category: Household Ethics

New term, built on established विश्वास root. Practical neglect of family equated with doctrinal denial of faith itself; a strong statement worth preserving without softening. 5:8.

Servant Bondservant

Approved rendering: दास
Transliteration: dās
Doctrine: Servants, Masters, and the Household Code
Rejected alternatives: गुलाम
Original: δοῦλος
Category: Household Ethics

New term. Requires firm cultural-historical framing: Goa’s own history includes Portuguese-era slave trade and caste-based bonded labor still socially remembered; must never be read as endorsing slavery or caste-bondage. Human theologian review required for any teaching material built on this passage. 6:1.

Depart From The Faith

Approved rendering: विश्वासापासून पयस जावप
Transliteration: viśvāsāpāsun payas jāvap
Doctrine: Guarding the Deposit of Faith
Original: ἀποστήσονταί τινες τῆς πίστεως
Category: Faith

New term, built on established विश्वास root. Names apostasy as a real, Spirit-foretold possibility. 4:1.

Seared Conscience

Approved rendering: जळिल्ली सद्सद्विवेकबुद्धी
Transliteration: jaḷillī sadsadvivekbuddhī
Doctrine: Guarding the Conscience and Rejecting False Knowledge
Original: κεκαυστηριασμένη συνείδησις
Category: Faith

New term, uses established सद्सद्विवेकबुद्धी plus जळिल्ली (seared/burnt). A conscience so repeatedly overridden it can no longer register moral warning. 4:2.

Medium Risk Terms

Apostle

Approved rendering: प्रेषित
Transliteration: preṣit
Doctrine: Qualifications for Church Leadership (Elders and Deacons)
Rejected alternatives: दूत, गुरू
Original: ἀπόστολος

Approved rendering: मंडळी
Transliteration: maṇḍaḷī
Doctrine: The Church as Pillar of Truth
Rejected alternatives: देऊळ, मंदिर

Transliteration: madhyasthī
Doctrine: Public Worship and Prayer
Rejected alternatives: शिफारस

Spiritual Gifts

Approved rendering: आत्मिक वरदान
Transliteration: ātmik varadān
Doctrine: Ministry Commissioning and Spiritual Gifts
Rejected alternatives: वरदान, सिद्धी
Original: χάρισμα

Transliteration: vaḍīl / mandaḷīco vaḍīl
Doctrine: Qualifications for Church Leadership (Elders and Deacons)
Rejected alternatives: गुरू

Category: Church Leadership

New term. वडील alone is the ordinary word for a respected senior person; qualify as मंडळीचो वडील when the specific church office (not generic seniority) is meant. गुरू rejected per baseline apostle-entry precedent (guru-authority structure). 5:1, 5:17, 5:19.

Blameless Above Reproach

Approved rendering: निंदेविरहित
Transliteration: nindevirahit
Doctrine: Qualifications for Church Leadership (Elders and Deacons)
Rejected alternatives: निर्दोष

Approved rendering: दोषरहित
Transliteration: doṣarahit
Doctrine: Qualifications for Church Leadership (Elders and Deacons)
