Core Glossary
Core Glossary: 2 Thessalonians (Konkani Destination Package)
This glossary lists every load-bearing theological term identified in 07_semantic_analysis.md, spanning all three chapters of 2 Thessalonians. Terms already fixed in the Romans baseline are marked REUSED and reproduced with their exact baseline rendering — no deviation permitted. Terms new to this curriculum are marked NEW with a recommended risk tier, following the same Critical/High/Medium/Low framework as doctrine_risk_registry.json, and are proposed for addition to translation memory pending theologian/native-speaker review per the routing rules below.
Review routing (unchanged from baseline): Critical/High → human theologian review; Medium → native speaker review; Low → automated review only.
Section A: Terms Reused Exactly from the Romans Baseline
| English term | Konkani term | Transliteration | Risk (baseline) | Occurrences in 2 Thessalonians | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grace | कृपा | kṛpā | High | 1:2, 1:12, 3:18 | No deviation. |
| Peace | शांती | śāntī | Medium | 1:2, 3:16 | No deviation. |
| Faith | विश्वास | viśvās | High | 1:3, 1:4, 1:11, 2:13, 3:2 | Also root for ironic negative use at 2:11–12 (see Section B). |
| Church | मंडळी | maṇḍaḷī | Medium | 1:1, 1:4 | The Thessalonian congregation. |
| Calling | बोलावणें | bolāvaṇẽ | High | 1:11, 2:14 | Effectual calling to salvation and glory. |
| Glory | गौरव | gaurav | High | 1:9, 1:10, 1:12, 2:14 | Never तेज-based rendering. |
| Saints | पवित्र जन | pavitra jan | High | 1:10 | ”Glorified among his saints.” |
| Sanctification | पवित्रीकरण | pavitrīkaraṇ | High | 2:13 | ”Sanctification of the Spirit.” |
| Holy Spirit | पवित्र आत्मा | pavitra ātmā | Critical | 2:13 | Must be kept distinct from πνεῦμα (“breath”/“a spirit-utterance”) at 2:2 and 2:8 — see Section C. |
| Election | देवाची निवड | devācī nivaḍ | High | 2:13 | ”God chose you.” |
| Gospel | सुवार्ता | suvārtā | High | 1:8, 2:14 | Also “word of the Lord” at 3:1 (related but distinct term, see Section B). |
| Power of God | देवाचें सामर्थ्य | devāce sāmarthya | High | 1:11 | Also reused ironically for Satan’s counterfeit power at 2:9 — see Section C. |
| Lord | प्रभू | prabhū | Critical | throughout | ”Our Lord Jesus Christ,” “the Lord Jesus,” “the Lord of peace.” |
| Jesus | येशू | yeśū | Critical | 1:7, 1:8, 1:12, 2:1, 2:8 | Never जेजू. |
| God | देव | dev | Critical | throughout | Must carry exclusivity marker in load-bearing contexts (e.g., 2:11, 2:13). |
| Salvation | तारण | tāraṇ | Critical | 2:10, 2:13 | Never मुक्ती/मोक्ष. |
| Righteousness (root) | नीतिमत्ता / नीतिमान | nītimattā / nītimān | Critical | (root reused in compounds — see Section B: नीतिमान न्याय, दोषी ठरप) | Never धर्म. |
Section B: New Compound Terms Built on Established Baseline Roots
These terms are new to this curriculum but are deliberately constructed from morphemes already fixed in the Romans baseline, for maximum internal consistency across the whole translation memory.
| English term | Greek | Konkani term | Transliteration | Risk (proposed) | Passage(s) | Built from baseline root | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Man of lawlessness | ὁ ἄνθρωπος τῆς ἀνομίας | नियमहीनतेचो मनीस | niyamahīnetēco manīs | Critical | 2:3, 2:8 | नियमशास्त्र (law) | Deliberately avoids अधर्म to prevent assimilation to the recurring Kalki/asura-defeat cycle pattern. Core doctrine term. |
| Lawless one | ὁ ἄνομος | नियमहीन | niyamahīn | Critical | 2:8 | नियमशास्त्र (law) | Same figure as above, adjectival form. |
| Mystery of lawlessness | τὸ μυστήριον τῆς ἀνομίας | नियमहीनतेचें रहस्य | niyamahīnetēce rahasya | High | 2:7 | नियमशास्त्र (law) | रहस्य must not be read as tantric/occult esoteric doctrine. |
| Son of destruction | ὁ υἱὸς τῆς ἀπωλείας | नाशाचो पुत्र | nāśāco putra | High | 2:3 | (contrast with) देवाचो पुत्र | Hebraic idiom of destiny/characterization, not literal or semi-divine sonship; must not parallel Christ’s Sonship. |
| Righteous judgment of God | δικαία κρίσις τοῦ θεοῦ | देवाचो नीतिमान न्याय | devāco nītimān nyāy | Critical | 1:5 | नीतिमत्ता/नीतिमान (righteousness) | Personal divine tribunal verdict, not impersonal karma. |
| Condemned / declared guilty | κριθῶσιν | दोषी ठरप | doṣī ṭharap | Critical | 2:12 | नीतिमान ठरवणें (justification, “declared righteous”) | Deliberate structural mirror: same forensic ठरवणें/ठरप (“to be declared”) pattern, opposite verdict. Reinforces that justification and condemnation are both personal forensic acts, not karmic outcomes. |
| Apostasy / the rebellion | ἀποστασία | विश्वासत्याग | viśvāstyāg | High | 2:3 | विश्वास (faith) | Avoids धर्मत्याग; distinct from positive sannyasa-style renunciation. |
| Unrighteousness | ἀδικία | अनीती | anītī | Medium-High | 2:10, 2:12 | नीतिमत्ता (righteousness) | Natural negation; reinforces baseline righteousness/unrighteousness semantic field. |
| Believe the lie | πιστεῦσαι τῷ ψεύδει | लबाडेचेर विश्वास दवरप | labāḍēcēr viśvās dhavarap | High | 2:11 | विश्वास (faith) | Ironic negative use of the faith-verb; flag to prevent dilution of विश्वास’s positive theological weight elsewhere. |
| Manifestation of his coming | ἡ ἐπιφάνεια τῆς παρουσίας αὐτοῦ | आगमनाचें प्रगटप | āgamanāce pragaṭap | Critical | 2:8 | आगमन (coming, new — see Section C) | Reinforces uniqueness/terminal nature of Christ’s return. |
Section C: Wholly New Terms (Not Built on Baseline Roots)
| English term | Greek | Transliteration | Konkani term | Transliteration (Konkani) | Risk (proposed) | Passage(s) | Definition | Translation notes / grounded reason for risk tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coming / Parousia (of Christ) | παρουσία | parousia | आगमन | āgaman | Critical | 2:1, 2:8, (contrast: 2:9 for the lawless one’s counterfeit “coming,” rendered येणें) | Christ’s future, visible, bodily, unique return | Direct, concrete syncretism risk: Goa’s own religious culture holds a live expectation of Kalki, a future avatar-descent ending Kali Yuga as part of a repeating cosmic cycle. आगमन must always be taught as a unique, non-repeating, terminal event — never a periodic avatar-arrival. Recommend a standing translator note at first occurrence in this curriculum. |
| Day of the Lord | ἡ ἡμέρα τοῦ κυρίου | hē hēmera tou kyriou | प्रभूचो दीस | prabhūco dīs | Critical | 1:10 (“that day”), 2:2 | God’s specific, linear, terminal future day of judgment and vindication | Core anchor term of this curriculum. Must be distinguished from (a) pralaya, the cyclical cosmic dissolution recurring across yugas in Hindu cosmology, and (b) astrological day-selection practice (मुहूर्त). Must render identically at every occurrence across the whole curriculum, per the baseline’s cross-document consistency principle applied to Romans 1:16-17, 8:28, 10:9-10. |
| Gathering together (to Christ) | ἐπισυναγωγή | episynagōgē | एकठांय जमप | ekaṭhāṁy jamap | Medium-High | 2:1 | The eschatological gathering of believers to Christ at his return | Must not be reduced to an ordinary social/congregational gathering; always contextually tied to the Day of the Lord/parousia. |
| Satan | Σατανᾶς | Satanas | सैतान | saitān | Critical | 2:9, 3:3 (as “the evil one,” ὁ πονηρός) | The real, personal, defeated-but-active enemy of God and his people | Must be presented as a real personal being, distinct from an impersonal cosmic negative principle and from the class of asuras/demons cyclically defeated in Puranic narrative. Standard Marathi/Konkani Bible transliteration; recommend adding to translation memory for reuse in future curricula (Ephesians, Revelation, etc.). |
| Restrainer / that which restrains | τὸ κατέχον / ὁ κατέχων | to katechon / ho katechōn | आडावपी गजाल / आडावपी | āḍāvpī gajāl / āḍāvpī | High | 2:6, 2:7 | The presently active force/person delaying the lawless one’s revealing | Translators must preserve Paul’s own interpretive ambiguity (neuter “thing/force” in v.6 shifting to masculine “person” in v.7) rather than resolving the debated referent (Roman state, angelic power, Holy Spirit, gospel proclamation) in the Konkani rendering. |
| Breath (of Christ’s mouth) | πνεῦμα (τοῦ στόματος) | pneuma (tou stomatos) | श्वास | śvās | Medium (disambiguation-critical) | 2:8 | Ordinary physical breath, by which Christ effortlessly destroys the lawless one at his return | Must NOT be rendered आत्मा here — this is a distinct sub-case of πνεῦμα’s wide semantic range (see also 2:2’s “a spirit,” rendered आत्मीक सांगणी) that must be kept clearly apart from the Critical baseline term पवित्र आत्मा (Holy Spirit). |
| A spirit (false prophetic claim) | πνεῦμα | pneuma | आत्मीक सांगणी | ātmīk sāṅgaṇī | High (disambiguation-critical) | 2:2 | A purported spiritual revelation/prophetic claim (here, a false one, being corrected) | Same caution as above: must not read as “the Holy Spirit said…” Explicit context-marking required at every occurrence of πνεῦμα across this letter’s three distinct senses (Holy Spirit / a claimed spirit-utterance / physical breath). |
| Object of worship / so-called god | σέβασμα / πᾶν λεγόμενον θεόν | sebasma / pan legomenon theon | पूज्य वस्त | pūjya vast | Critical | 2:4 | Any object, image, or being that receives religious veneration, displaced by the lawless one’s self-deification | Direct collision with live Goan पूजा (puja) practice before temple deities (Shantadurga, Mangeshi, Mahalasa). Full polemical force must be retained but delivered with an invitational, non-confrontational tone per the baseline’s mission-sensitivity conventions. |
| Temple of God | ναὸς τοῦ θεοῦ | naos tou theou | देवाचें मंदिर | devāce mandir | Critical | 2:4 | The Jerusalem Temple (literal or eschatological-symbolic) in which the lawless one enthrones himself | मंदिर is forbidden elsewhere in the baseline for “church” (मंडळी) precisely because it denotes a Hindu temple; here it is the linguistically correct choice for a literal temple building, but requires the same deliberate exclusivity/context-marking strategy the baseline applies to देव itself. Mandatory translator note distinguishing this from any Goan Hindu temple. |
| Self-proclaimed deity (false) | ἀποδεικνύντα ἑαυτὸν ὅτι ἔστιν θεός | apodeiknynta heauton hoti estin theos | आपूण देव आसा म्हणून दाखयता | āpūṇ dev āsā mhaṇūn dākhayatā | Critical | 2:4 | The lawless one’s blasphemous self-deification | Diametric opposite of Christ’s true deity (देवाचो पुत्र); must be unmistakably framed as false and blasphemous. |
| False signs and wonders | σημεῖα καὶ τέρατα ψεύδους | sēmeia kai terata pseudous | फटव्या चिन्नां आनी अजापां | phaṭvyā cinnāṁ āṇi ajāpāṁ | Critical | 2:9 | Satan-empowered counterfeit miracles performed by the lawless one | Must not be mistaken for genuine आत्मिक वरदान (baseline spiritual_gifts term); φαटवो/false must clearly qualify all instances in Konkani syntax. |
| Working of delusion / strong delusion | ἐνέργεια πλάνης | energeia planēs | भुलावण्याचें बळ | bhulāvaṇyāce baḷ | Critical | 2:11 | God’s judicial hardening sent in response to prior willful rejection of truth | Must be taught strictly as a just, responsive judicial act (per “God’s Righteous Judgment” doctrine), never as God arbitrarily causing unbelief apart from prior human rebellion (v.10). Sequence must remain intact in translation. |
| Perseverance / patient endurance | ὑπομονή | hypomonē | सहनशीलता | sahanaśīlatā | High | 1:4 | Active, hope-grounded endurance under persecution and affliction | Core doctrine term (Perseverance under Persecution). Must be distinguished from fatalistic, karma-resigned endurance; grounded in confident hope of future vindication (vv.5,7,10), not passive acceptance of an impersonal cosmic ledger. |
| Persecutions | διωγμοί | diōgmoi | छळ | chaḷ | Medium | 1:4 | Organized hostile pursuit for one’s faith | Standard term. |
| Afflictions / tribulations | θλίψεις | thlipseis | क्लेश | kleś | Medium | 1:4, 1:6 | Ongoing hardship endured for the gospel | Standard term. |
| Repay / recompense | ἀνταποδοῦναι | antapodounai | परतफेड करप | paratpheḍ karap | Medium | 1:6 | God’s just repayment: affliction to afflicters, rest to the afflicted | Deliberately avoids फळ-based (कर्मफळ-adjacent) vocabulary to keep this framed as personal divine justice, not karmic fruiting. |
| Vengeance / retribution | ἐκδίκησις | ekdikēsis | सूड | sūḍ | High | 1:8 | Christ’s righteous, judicial retribution against gospel-rejecters | Must be marked as righteous judicial retribution reserved to God, not sanctioned personal revenge. |
| Eternal destruction | ὄλεθρος αἰώνιος | olethros aiōnios | सार्वकालीक नाश | sārvakālīk nāś | High | 1:9 | Final, unending destruction/separation from God | αἰώνιος rendered सार्वकालीक, deliberately not सनातन (Sanatana Dharma associations). |
| Away from the presence of the Lord | ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ κυρίου | apo prosōpou tou kyriou | प्रभूच्या मुखामळावयल्यान पयस | prabhūcyā mukhāmaḷāvayalyān payas | Medium-High | 1:9 | Relational exclusion from God’s presence as the essence of final judgment | Keep the relational, not merely spatial/punitive, framing. |
| Traditions (apostolic teaching) | παράδοσις | paradosis | परंपरा | paramparā | Critical | 2:15, 3:6 | Authoritative apostolic teaching and instruction received from Paul, to be firmly held | Core anchor term (Standing Firm in the Traditions doctrine). परंपरा ordinarily denotes Hindu ritual/festival custom or inherited Catholic Konkani cultural custom in Goa; here it must be explicitly and consistently glossed as Paul’s own authoritative apostolic teaching, never generic inherited custom. Mandatory human theologian review at every occurrence. |
| Command / charge (apostolic) | παραγγέλλω | parangellō | आज्ञा करप / आज्ञा दिवप | āj̈ñā karap/divap | High | 3:4, 3:6, 3:10, 3:12 | Paul’s authoritative apostolic instruction | Built on baseline’s आज्ञाधारकता root; must retain apostolic authority-weight, not mere friendly advice. |
| Stand firm / hold fast | στήκω / κρατέω | stēkō / krateō | घट्ट उबे रावप / घट्ट धरून dhavrat | ghaṭṭ ubhe rāvap / ghaṭṭ dharūn dhavrāt | High | 2:15 | Firm, unwavering commitment to hold received apostolic teaching | Direct companion terms to परंपरा; the full doctrinal weight of “Standing Firm in the Traditions” rests on this verb pair plus παράδοσις together. |
| Disorderly / undisciplined | ἄτακτος / ἀτάκτως | ataktos / ataktōs | बेशिस्त | beśist | Medium | 3:6, 3:7, 3:11 | Refusing honest work while relying on the church, contrary to received apostolic pattern | Practical church-discipline term; tied to the authority of the “tradition” being violated (v.6) but not itself Critical-tier doctrine. |
| Busybodies | περιεργαζόμενοι | periergazomenoi | निरर्थक गजालींनी ढवळपी | nirarthak gajālīnnī ḍhavaḷpī | Low-Medium | 3:11 | Meddling in others’ affairs instead of honest work | Greek wordplay (ergazomenous/periergazomenous) untranslatable in Konkani; render meaning plainly. |
| Sign / authenticating mark | σημεῖον | sēmeion | चिन्न | cinna | Low-Medium | 3:17 | Paul’s handwritten mark authenticating a genuine letter, guarding against forgery (cf. 2:2) | Same Konkani word चिन्न also renders the false “signs” of 2:9; context disambiguates but reviewers should confirm no confusion across the letter. |
| Strengthen / establish | στηρίζω | stērizō | बळकट करप | baḷkaṭ karap | Low-Medium | 2:17, 3:3 | God’s strengthening of believers in every good work and word | Companion term to उत्तेजन देणें (baseline exhort). |
| Faithful (of the Lord) | πιστός | pistos | विश्वासू | viśvāsū | Medium-High | 3:3 | God’s reliable, unwavering faithfulness to his promises | Built on baseline विश्वास root; grounds assurance in God’s character, not karmic uncertainty (cf. baseline assurance_of_salvation doctrine). |
| The evil one | ὁ πονηρός | ho ponēros | सैतान / दुष्ट | saitān / duṣṭa | High | 3:3 | Satan, the personal adversary | Keep consistent with 2:9’s सैतान identification. |
| Love (of the truth) | ἀγάπη | agapē | मया | mayā | Low-Medium | 1:3, 2:10 | Committed, self-giving love; here, love for revealed truth | Standard Konkani word for warm, committed love/affection. |
| Word of the Lord | ὁ λόγος τοῦ κυρίου | ho logos tou kyriou | प्रभूचें वचन | prabhūce vacan | Low-Medium | 3:1 | The gospel message, spreading and being honored | Related to, but distinct from, सुवार्ता (gospel) — a “word” emphasis on the message being proclaimed/spreading. |
Section D: Risk Summary for This Curriculum
| Risk tier | Count (new + reused, this book) | Review routing |
|---|---|---|
| Critical | 15 | Human theologian (mandatory) |
| High | 16 | Human theologian (mandatory) |
| Medium / Medium-High | 15 | Native speaker review |
| Low / Low-Medium | 6 | Automated review |
Highest-priority terms for Phase 2 human theologian review, in order of curriculum centrality:
- प्रभूचो दीस (Day of the Lord) — core anchor term, every occurrence
- नियमहीनतेचो मनीस / नियमहीन (Man/lawless one of lawlessness) — core anchor term
- परंपरा as “traditions” (2:15, 3:6) — core anchor term, mandatory context-marking
- आगमन (parousia/coming) — Kalki/cyclical-avatar disambiguation required
- पूज्य वस्त and देवाचें मंदिर (2:4) — direct collision with live Goan temple/puja practice
- भुलावण्याचें बळ (working of delusion, 2:11) and दोषी ठरप (condemned, 2:12) — God’s Righteous Judgment doctrine, judicial sequence must remain intact
- सहनशीलता (perseverance, 1:4) — must not read as karmic/fatalistic resignation
This glossary is a proposed addition to translation_memory.json for the 2 Thessalonians curriculum. All Critical and High risk new terms above require human theologian sign-off before being written into translation memory, per the baseline’s Translation Memory Load and Enforcement Instructions (see 12_ai_translation_requirements.md).
Critical Risk Terms
Righteousness
Approved rendering: नीतिमत्ता
Transliteration: nītimattā
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: धर्म, पुण्य, न्याय
Original: δικαιοσύνη / δίκαιος
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Root for this book’s new compounds देवाचो नीतिमान न्याय (righteous judgment), अनीती (unrighteousness), and दोषी ठरप (condemned) — all deliberately built to share this root for cross-document consistency. Never धर्म.
Justification
Approved rendering: नीतिमान ठरवणें
Transliteration: nītimān ṭharavaṇẽ
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: क्षमा मेळप, पुण्य कमावप
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Not itself quoted in 2 Thessalonians, but retained in translation memory because this book’s new term दोषी ठरप (‘condemned/declared guilty,’ 2:12) is a deliberate structural mirror of this term — same forensic ठरवणें/ठरप pattern, opposite verdict. Reviewers must recognize both as the same kind of personal, forensic divine act.
Salvation
Approved rendering: तारण
Transliteration: tāraṇ
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: मुक्ती, मोक्ष, सुटका
Original: σωτηρία / σῴζω
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Appears at 2:10, 2:13. NEVER मुक्ती or मोक्ष.
Lord
Approved rendering: प्रभू
Transliteration: prabhū
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: स्वामी, मालक
Original: κύριος
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Used throughout of Christ (‘our Lord Jesus Christ,’ 1:1, 2:1; ‘the Lord Jesus,’ 1:7-8; ‘the Lord of peace,’ 3:16) and in OT-echoing phrases (‘the day of the Lord,’ 2:2; ‘the word of the Lord,’ 3:1).
Christ
Approved rendering: ख्रिस्त
Transliteration: Khrist
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Inherited from Romans package’s established transliteration standards (12_ai_translation_requirements.md). Used throughout this book as part of ‘our Lord Jesus Christ’ (1:1, 2:1).
Jesus
Approved rendering: येशू
Transliteration: yeśū
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: जेजू
Original: Ἰησοῦς
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Appears at 1:1, 1:7, 1:8, 1:12, 2:1, 2:8. Never जेजू.
God
Approved rendering: देव
Transliteration: dev
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Rejected alternatives: भगवान
Original: θεός
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Every doctrinally load-bearing occurrence in this book, especially 2:4, 2:11, and 2:13, must be reinforced with an exclusivity marker (एकच खरो देव).
Holy Spirit
Approved rendering: पवित्र आत्मा
Transliteration: pavitra ātmā
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: ब्रह्म, परमात्मा
Original: πνεῦμα ἅγιον
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Named explicitly at 2:13 (‘sanctification of the Spirit’). This book contains two other, unrelated senses of Greek pneuma that must NEVER be rendered पवित्र आत्मा: a claimed false prophetic utterance (2:2, rendered आत्मीक सांगणी) and ordinary physical breath (2:8, rendered श्वास). All three senses must remain lexically distinct.
Father
Approved rendering: पिता
Transliteration: pitā
Doctrine: Adoption into God’s Family
Rejected alternatives: ब्रह्मा, निर्माणकार
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Appears at 1:1-2 and 2:16 (‘God our Father’).
Man Of Lawlessness
Approved rendering: नियमहीनतेचो मनीस
Transliteration: niyamahīnetēco manīs
Doctrine: The Man of Lawlessness
Rejected alternatives: अधर्मी पुरुष, पापी मनीस
Original: ὁ ἄνθρωπος τῆς ἀνομίας
Category: Eschatology
NEW for this curriculum, 2:3, 2:8. Built on नियमशास्त्र (Law) root, deliberately avoiding अधर्म, which would invite assimilation to the recurring asura-villain-defeated-by-avatar narrative pattern (Hiranyakashipu/Narasimha, Ravana/Rama, Mahishasura/Durga) — a direct structural parallel to the still-awaited Kalki avatar in regional temple belief. Must be taught as a unique, non-recurring historical figure destroyed once for all at Christ’s return.
Lawless One
Approved rendering: नियमहीन
Transliteration: niyamahīn
Doctrine: The Man of Lawlessness
Original: ὁ ἄνομος
Category: Eschatology
NEW for this curriculum, 2:8. Same referent as man_of_lawlessness, bare substantivized adjective form. Must render identically alongside नियमहीनतेचो मनीस so readers recognize the same singular figure across both verses.
Righteous Judgment Of God
Approved rendering: देवाचो नीतिमान न्याय
Transliteration: devāco nītimān nyāy
Doctrine: God’s Righteous Judgment
Original: δικαία κρίσις τοῦ θεοῦ
Category: Judgment
NEW for this curriculum, 1:5. Built on नीतिमत्ता/नीतिमान root. Personal divine tribunal justice exercised by a personal Judge, never the impersonal, self-executing karma-mechanism widespread in Goan Hindu religious idiom.
Condemned
Approved rendering: दोषी ठरप
Transliteration: doṣī ṭharap
Doctrine: God’s Righteous Judgment
Original: κριθῶσιν (from κρίνω)
Category: Judgment
NEW for this curriculum, 2:12. Deliberately mirrors नीतिमान ठरवणें (justification, ‘declared righteous’) in construction but with the opposite verdict. Reinforces that justification and condemnation are the same kind of act — a personal, forensic divine verdict — never an impersonal karmic outcome.
Manifestation Of His Coming
Approved rendering: आगमनाचें प्रगटप
Transliteration: āgamanāce pragaṭap
Doctrine: The Day of the Lord
Original: ἡ ἐπιφάνεια τῆς παρουσίας αὐτοῦ
Category: Christology
NEW for this curriculum, 2:8. Reuses आगमन. This doubled Greek expression intensifies the certainty and visibility of Christ’s unique return; must not be softened into vaguer ‘manifestation’ language that could read as a recurring theophany given the live Kalki/cyclical-avatar expectation in Goan temple culture.
Parousia
Approved rendering: आगमन
Transliteration: āgaman
Doctrine: The Day of the Lord
Rejected alternatives: अवतार
Original: παρουσία
Category: Christology
NEW for this curriculum, 2:1, 2:8. Christ’s future, visible, bodily, unique return. NEVER अवतार. Goa’s own temple tradition holds a live expectation of Kalki, a future avatar of Vishnu appearing at the end of Kali Yuga as part of a repeating cosmic cycle; आगमन must always be taught as a unique, non-repeating, terminal event. Deliberately distinguished lexically from येणें (used only for the lawless one’s counterfeit ‘coming’ at 2:9) so the true and false comings are never blurred together.
Counterfeit Coming
Approved rendering: येणें
Transliteration: yeṇẽ
Doctrine: The Man of Lawlessness
Rejected alternatives: आगमन
NEW for this curriculum, 2:9. Deliberately plainer word than आगमन, reserved only for the lawless one’s ironic, counterfeit ‘coming’ so it is never confused with Christ’s dignified, unique आगमन.
Day Of The Lord
Approved rendering: प्रभूचो दीस
Transliteration: prabhūco dīs
Doctrine: The Day of the Lord
Rejected alternatives: प्रलय
Original: ἡ ἡμέρα τοῦ κυρίου
Category: Eschatology
Core anchor term of this curriculum, 1:10 (‘that day’), 2:2. Must be distinguished from (a) प्रलय, the cyclical cosmic dissolution recurring across yugas in Hindu cosmology, and (b) मुहूर्त, astrological auspicious-day selection. Must render identically at every occurrence across the whole curriculum.
Satan
Approved rendering: सैतान
Transliteration: saitān
Doctrine: Satan and Spiritual Deception
Original: Σατανᾶς
Category: Spiritual Forces
NEW for this curriculum, 2:9, 3:3. Standard Marathi/Konkani Bible transliteration. Must be presented as a real, personal, defeated-but-still-active enemy of God, distinct from an impersonal cosmic negative principle and from the class of asuras/demons cyclically defeated within Puranic narrative across successive yugas. Recommended for promotion into the shared cross-curriculum translation memory (Ephesians, Revelation, etc.).
Object Of Worship
Approved rendering: पूज्य वस्त
Transliteration: pūjya vast
Doctrine: The Lawless One’s Self-Deification and False Worship
Original: πᾶν λεγόμενον θεὸν ἢ σέβασμα
Category: Idolatry
NEW for this curriculum, 2:4. Every rival claimed deity or object of religious veneration, displaced by the lawless one’s self-exaltation. Direct collision with live Goan puja practice before temple deities (Shantadurga, Mangeshi, Mahalasa). Full polemical force must be retained without appearing to mock or provoke local devotional practice; invitational, non-confrontational tone required.
Temple Of God
Approved rendering: देवाचें मंदिर
Transliteration: devāce mandir
Doctrine: The Lawless One’s Self-Deification and False Worship
Original: ναὸς τοῦ θεοῦ
Category: Eschatology
NEW for this curriculum, 2:4. मंदिर is forbidden elsewhere in the baseline for ‘church’ (मंडळी) precisely because it denotes a Hindu temple; here it is nonetheless the linguistically correct rendering for the literal/eschatological-symbolic Jerusalem Temple. Mandatory translator note distinguishing this from any Goan Hindu temple is required at every occurrence.
Self Proclaimed Deity
Approved rendering: आपूण देव आसा म्हणून दाखयता
Transliteration: āpūṇ dev āsā mhaṇūn dākhayatā
Doctrine: The Lawless One’s Self-Deification and False Worship
Original: ἀποδεικνύντα ἑαυτὸν ὅτι ἔστιν θεός
Category: Christology
NEW for this curriculum, 2:4. The lawless one’s climactic blasphemous claim to deity. Must be unmistakably framed as false and blasphemous, the diametric opposite of Christ’s true, eternal deity (देवाचो पुत्र).
False Signs And Wonders
Approved rendering: फटव्या चिन्नां आनी अजापां
Transliteration: phaṭvyā cinnāṁ āṇi ajāpāṁ
Doctrine: Satan and Spiritual Deception
Original: σημεῖα καὶ τέρατα ψεύδους
Category: Eschatology
NEW for this curriculum, 2:9. Satan-empowered counterfeit miracles. Reuses baseline सामर्थ्य ironically for Satan’s counterfeit power; फटवो/false must clearly qualify every noun so these are never mistaken for genuine आत्मिक वरदान (Spirit-given gifts) or reported goddess-power (शक्ती-adjacent) manifestations at regional temples.
Working Of Delusion
Approved rendering: भुलावण्याचें बळ
Transliteration: bhulāvaṇyāce baḷ
Doctrine: God’s Righteous Judgment
Original: ἐνέργεια πλάνης
Category: Judgment
NEW for this curriculum, 2:11. God’s judicial hardening sent in response to prior willful rejection of truth. Must be taught strictly as a just, responsive judicial act, never as God arbitrarily causing belief in falsehood apart from prior human rebellion. The sequence (rejection -> delusion -> condemnation, vv.10-12) must remain intact and unreordered.
Traditions
Approved rendering: परंपरा
Transliteration: paramparā
Doctrine: Standing Firm in the Traditions
Rejected alternatives: शिकवण
Original: παράδοσις
Category: Church
Core anchor term of this curriculum, 2:15, 3:6. परंपरा ordinarily denotes Hindu ritual/festival custom or inherited Catholic Konkani cultural custom in Goa. Must be explicitly and consistently glossed as authoritative apostolic teaching received from Paul (spoken or written), NEVER left unqualified — pair with an authority-anchor phrase (e.g. ‘आमी तुमकां दिल्ली परंपरा’ / प्रेषितांचें शिकवण) at every occurrence. Mandatory human theologian review at every occurrence.
High Risk Terms
Gospel
Approved rendering: सुवार्ता
Transliteration: suvārtā
Doctrine: Gospel
Rejected alternatives: बरी खबर, शुभवर्तमान
Original: εὐαγγέλιον
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). In 2 Thessalonians appears at 1:8, 2:14. Related but distinct term ‘word of the Lord’ (प्रभूचें वचन) at 3:1 emphasizes the spreading message rather than its content; do not merge the two.
Grace
Approved rendering: कृपा
Transliteration: kṛpā
Doctrine: Grace
Rejected alternatives: कर्मफळ, पुण्य, नशीब
Original: χάρις
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Appears at 1:2, 1:12, 3:18.
Faith
Approved rendering: विश्वास
Transliteration: viśvās
Doctrine: Faith
Rejected alternatives: श्रद्धा, भक्ती
Original: πίστις
Category: Faith
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Appears at 1:3, 1:4, 1:11, 2:13, 3:2. Also the root for this book’s deliberate ironic negative construction ‘believe the lie’ (2:11-12, see लबाडेचेर विश्वास दवरप below); that ironic use must never dilute विश्वास’s positive theological weight elsewhere in this letter.
Calling
Approved rendering: बोलावणें
Transliteration: bolāvaṇẽ
Doctrine: Divine Calling
Rejected alternatives: आमंत्रण
Original: κλῆσις / καλέω
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Appears at 1:11 (‘worthy of his calling’) and 2:14 (‘he called you through our gospel’).
Election
Approved rendering: देवाची निवड
Transliteration: devācī nivaḍ
Doctrine: Effectual Calling
Rejected alternatives: नशीब, प्रारब्ध
Original: εἵλατο (from αἱρέομαι)
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Appears at 2:13 (‘God chose you’). Reviewers must confirm which textual variant (ἀπαρχήν ‘firstfruits’ vs. ἀπ’ ἀρχῆς ‘from the beginning’) underlies the source text before finalizing this verse.
Holy
Approved rendering: पवित्र
Transliteration: pavitra
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: शुद्ध, निर्मळ
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Root underlying पवित्र जन (saints), पवित्रीकरण (sanctification), and पवित्र आत्मा (Holy Spirit), all used in this book.
Saints
Approved rendering: पवित्र जन
Transliteration: pavitra jan
Doctrine: Sainthood
Rejected alternatives: संत, भक्त
Original: ἅγιοι
Category: Church
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Appears at 1:10 (‘glorified among his saints’). Corporate designation for all believers, never the Varkari bhakti-poet संत category nor an ascetic elite.
Sanctification
Approved rendering: पवित्रीकरण
Transliteration: pavitrīkaraṇ
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: शुद्धीकरण
Original: ἁγιασμός
Category: Sanctification
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Appears at 2:13 (‘sanctification of the Spirit’), named there as part of the very means of salvation.
Glory
Approved rendering: गौरव
Transliteration: gaurav
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Rejected alternatives: तेज, देवीतेज
Original: δόξα
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Appears at 1:9, 1:10, 1:12, 2:14. Never तेज-based light imagery.
Power Of God
Approved rendering: देवाचें सामर्थ्य
Transliteration: devāce sāmarthya
Doctrine: Power of God for Salvation
Rejected alternatives: शक्ती
Original: δύναμις (θεοῦ)
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Appears at 1:11. This book adds a new critical risk: 2:9 applies this SAME root ironically to Satan’s counterfeit power (‘with all [false] power, signs, and wonders’); the फटवो/false qualifier must be unmistakable in Konkani syntax at every occurrence in 2:9 so it is never mistaken for genuine divine power or for reported goddess-power (शक्ती-adjacent) manifestations at regional temples.
Law
Approved rendering: नियमशास्त्र
Transliteration: niyamaśāstra
Doctrine: Fulfillment of Prophecy
Rejected alternatives: धर्म, कायदो
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Not directly quoted as a standalone term in this book, but retained because it is the deliberate morphological root for this book’s central new coinage नियमहीनतेचो मनीस/नियमहीन (‘man of lawlessness’/‘lawless one’), chosen specifically to avoid अधर्म and the recurring asura/avatar-defeat narrative pattern it would invoke.
Mystery Of Lawlessness
Approved rendering: नियमहीनतेचें रहस्य
Transliteration: niyamahīnetēce rahasya
Doctrine: The Man of Lawlessness
Original: τὸ μυστήριον τῆς ἀνομίας
Category: Eschatology
NEW for this curriculum, 2:7. रहस्य must not be read through a tantric/occult esoteric-secret-doctrine lens; here it denotes a divine disclosure of a present evil reality already at work, not initiatory secret knowledge reserved for an inner circle.
Son Of Destruction
Approved rendering: नाशाचो पुत्र
Transliteration: nāśāco putra
Doctrine: The Man of Lawlessness
Original: ὁ υἱὸς τῆς ἀπωλείας
Category: Eschatology
NEW for this curriculum, 2:3. Hebraic idiom of destiny/characterization (‘son of’ = destined for). Must be clearly distinguished from the baseline’s देवाचो पुत्र (Son of God) — not a claim of literal or semi-divine sonship, and must never parallel Christ’s unique eternal Sonship.
Apostasy
Approved rendering: विश्वासत्याग
Transliteration: viśvāstyāg
Doctrine: The Apostasy / Falling Away
Rejected alternatives: धर्मत्याग
Original: ἀποστασία
Category: Eschatology
NEW for this curriculum, 2:3. Built from विश्वास (faith) + त्याग (abandonment). Never धर्मत्याग, which would route through the baseline-forbidden धर्म. Must not be confused with sannyasa-style renunciation, a positive, revered ideal of spiritual discipline in Goan Hindu tradition; here ἀποστασία is a negative abandonment of true faith, a warning sign, never an ascetic ideal.
Believe The Lie
Approved rendering: लबाडेचेर विश्वास दवरप
Transliteration: labāḍēcēr viśvās dhavarap
Doctrine: God’s Righteous Judgment
Original: πιστεῦσαι τῷ ψεύδει
Category: Sin
NEW for this curriculum, 2:11. Ironic negative use of the established faith-verb विश्वास; must not dilute विश्वास’s positive theological weight elsewhere in this curriculum. A brief contrastive note on the true-faith/false-faith antithesis is recommended.
Gathering Together
Approved rendering: एकठांय जमप
Transliteration: ekaṭhāṁy jamap
Doctrine: The Day of the Lord
Original: ἐπισυναγωγή
Category: Eschatology
NEW for this curriculum, 2:1. The eschatological gathering of believers to Christ at his return. Must not be reduced to an ordinary social or congregational gathering; always contextually tied to the Day of the Lord/parousia.
Restrainer
Approved rendering: आडावपी गजाल / आडावपी
Transliteration: āḍāvpī gajāl / āḍāvpī
Doctrine: The Man of Lawlessness
Original: τὸ κατέχον / ὁ κατέχων
Category: Eschatology
NEW for this curriculum, 2:6-7. Translators must preserve Paul’s own interpretive ambiguity (neuter ‘thing/force’ in v.6 shifting to masculine ‘person’ in v.7) rather than resolving the debated referent (Roman state, angelic power, Holy Spirit, gospel proclamation).
Spirit False Claim
Approved rendering: आत्मीक सांगणी
Transliteration: ātmīk sāṅgaṇī
Doctrine: The Day of the Lord
Rejected alternatives: आत्मा
Original: πνεῦμα
Category: Revelation
NEW for this curriculum, 2:2 (‘a spirit,’ i.e. a purported prophetic utterance). An unqualified आत्मा here risks readers hearing ‘the Holy Spirit said the Day of the Lord has come’ — the opposite of Paul’s corrective point. Must remain lexically distinct from पवित्र आत्मा at every occurrence.
Perseverance
Approved rendering: सहनशीलता
Transliteration: sahanaśīlatā
Doctrine: Perseverance under Persecution
Rejected alternatives: प्रारब्ध सहन करप, तप/तपस्या
Original: ὑπομονή
Category: Perseverance
Core doctrine anchor term of this curriculum, 1:4. Active, hope-grounded endurance under affliction and persecution. Must be distinguished from fatalistic, karma-resigned endurance (‘this suffering is my fate/karma to bear’) and from तप/तपस्या (meritorious ascetic self-discipline); grounded in confident hope of future vindication and glory (vv.5,7,10), never passive acceptance of an impersonal cosmic ledger.
Vengeance
Approved rendering: सूड
Transliteration: sūḍ
Doctrine: God’s Righteous Judgment
Original: ἐκδίκησις
Category: Judgment
NEW for this curriculum, 1:8. Christ’s just retribution against gospel-rejecters. Must be explicitly marked as righteous, judicial retribution belonging to God alone, never sanctioned personal revenge.
Eternal Destruction
Approved rendering: सार्वकालीक नाश
Transliteration: sārvakālīk nāś
Doctrine: God’s Righteous Judgment
Rejected alternatives: सनातन नाश
Original: ὄλεθρος αἰώνιος
Category: Judgment
NEW for this curriculum, 1:9. αἰώνιος rendered सार्वकालीक, deliberately not सनातन, which carries strong Sanatana Dharma associations in regional Hindu usage. सार्वकालीक is the neutral, established Christian-register term for biblical eternity.
Away From Presence Of Lord
Approved rendering: प्रभूच्या मुखामळावयल्यान पयस
Transliteration: prabhūcyā mukhāmaḷāvayalyān payas
Doctrine: God’s Righteous Judgment
Original: ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ κυρίου
Category: Judgment
NEW for this curriculum, 1:9. Relational exclusion from God’s presence as the essence of final judgment; keep the relational, not merely spatial/punitive, framing.
Command
Approved rendering: आज्ञा करप / आज्ञा दिवप
Transliteration: āj̈ñā karap / āj̈ñā divap
Doctrine: Standing Firm in the Traditions
Original: παραγγέλλω
Category: Church
NEW for this curriculum, 3:4, 3:6, 3:10, 3:12. Built on the baseline’s आज्ञाधारकता (obedience) root. Must retain apostolic authority-weight, not mere friendly advice.
Stand Firm Hold Fast
Approved rendering: घट्ट उबे रावप / घट्ट धरून दवरप
Transliteration: ghaṭṭ ubhe rāvap / ghaṭṭ dharūn dhavarap
Doctrine: Standing Firm in the Traditions
Original: στήκω / κρατέω
Category: Church
NEW for this curriculum, 2:15. Direct companion terms to परंपरा; the full doctrinal weight of ‘Standing Firm in the Traditions’ rests on this verb pair together with परंपरा, functioning as a single doctrinal unit.
Faithful
Approved rendering: विश्वासू
Transliteration: viśvāsū
Doctrine: Assurance of God’s Faithfulness
Original: πιστός
Category: God
NEW for this curriculum, 3:3 (‘the Lord is faithful’). Built on the baseline विश्वास root. Grounds assurance in God’s unchanging personal character, distinct from karmic uncertainty about accumulated merit or the outcome of a future rebirth.
Evil One
Approved rendering: सैतान / दुष्ट
Transliteration: saitān / duṣṭa
Doctrine: Satan and Spiritual Deception
Original: ὁ πονηρός
Category: Spiritual Forces
NEW for this curriculum, 3:3. Must be kept consistent with the सैतान identification already established at 2:9; do not introduce an unrelated impersonal ‘evil’ abstraction here.
Medium Risk Terms
Church
Approved rendering: मंडळी
Transliteration: maṇḍaḷī
Doctrine: Church as God’s People
Rejected alternatives: देऊळ, मंदिर
Original: ἐκκλησία
Category: Church
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Appears at 1:1, 1:4. NOTE: this book also requires देवाचें मंदिर (‘temple of God’) at 2:4 for a different, literal referent (the Jerusalem Temple); मंदिर remains forbidden for ‘church’ but is the linguistically correct rendering there. See temple_of_god below for the required disambiguation and mandatory translator note.
Peace
Approved rendering: शांती
Transliteration: śāntī
Doctrine: Peace with God
Rejected alternatives: सुख, समाधान
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Appears at 1:2 and 3:16 (‘the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way’).
Unrighteousness
Approved rendering: अनीती
Transliteration: anītī
Doctrine: Sin
Original: ἀδικία
Category: Sin
NEW for this curriculum, 2:10, 2:12. Natural Konkani negation built directly from नीतिमत्ता, reinforcing rather than fragmenting the existing righteousness/unrighteousness semantic field.
Breath Of His Mouth
Approved rendering: श्वास
Transliteration: śvās
Doctrine: The Day of the Lord
Rejected alternatives: आत्मा
Original: τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ
Category: Christology
NEW for this curriculum, 2:8 (‘the breath of his mouth’). Must NEVER be rendered आत्मा — distinct sense of Greek pneuma (ordinary physical breath) kept clearly apart from the Critical baseline term पवित्र आत्मा (Holy Spirit).
Persecutions
Approved rendering: छळ
Transliteration: chaḷ
Doctrine: Perseverance under Persecution
Original: διωγμοί
Category: Perseverance
NEW for this curriculum, 1:4. Organized hostile pursuit or harassment for one’s faith.
Afflictions
Approved rendering: क्लेश
Transliteration: kleś
Doctrine: Perseverance under Persecution
Original: θλίψεις
Category: Perseverance
NEW for this curriculum, 1:4, 1:6. Ongoing hardship endured for the gospel, broader than persecution alone.
Repay Recompense
Approved rendering: परतफेड करप
Transliteration: paratpheḍ karap
Doctrine: God’s Righteous Judgment
Rejected alternatives: कर्मफळ
Original: ἀνταποδοῦναι
Category: Judgment
NEW for this curriculum, 1:6-7. God’s just repayment: affliction to afflicters, rest to the afflicted. Deliberately avoids फळ-based (कर्मफळ-adjacent) vocabulary to keep this framed as personal divine justice, not impersonal karmic fruiting.
Disorderly
Approved rendering: बेशिस्त
Transliteration: beśist
Doctrine: Church Order and Discipline
Original: ἄτακτος / ἀτάκτως
Category: Church
NEW for this curriculum, 3:6-7, 3:11. Refusing honest work while relying on the church’s support, contrary to Paul’s own example and instruction. Tied to the authority of the tradition being violated (v.6).
Low Risk Terms
Exhort
Approved rendering: उत्तेजन देणें
Transliteration: uttejan denẽ
Doctrine: Mutual Edification
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Companion term to this book’s new coinage बळकट करप (strengthen, στηρίζω) at 2:17, 3:3.
Thanksgiving
Approved rendering: धन्यवाद
Transliteration: dhanyavād
Doctrine: Thanksgiving
Inherited from Romans package (unchanged). Appears at 1:3 (‘we ought always to give thanks’) and implicit in 2:13.
Busybodies
Approved rendering: निरर्थक गजालींनी ढवळपी
Transliteration: nirarthak gajālīnnī ḍhavaḷpī
Doctrine: Church Order and Discipline
Original: περιεργαζόμενοι
Category: Church
NEW for this curriculum, 3:11. Greek wordplay (ergazomenous/periergazomenous) untranslatable in Konkani; renders the meaning plainly per this curriculum’s idiom-handling rule.
Sign Authenticating Mark
Approved rendering: चिन्न
Transliteration: cinna
Doctrine: Church Order and Discipline
Original: σημεῖον
Category: Church
NEW for this curriculum, 3:17. Paul’s handwritten greeting as an authenticating mark against forgery. Same Konkani word चिन्न also renders the false ‘signs’ of 2:9; context disambiguates but reviewers should confirm no confusion across the two occurrences in this short letter.
Strengthen
Approved rendering: बळकट करप
Transliteration: baḷkaṭ karap
Doctrine: Mutual Edification
Original: στηρίζω
Category: Faith
NEW for this curriculum, 2:17, 3:3. Companion term to the baseline’s उत्तेजन देणें (exhort/encourage).
Love Of Truth
Approved rendering: मया
Transliteration: mayā
Doctrine: Thanksgiving and Growth in Faith
Original: ἡ ἀγάπη τῆς ἀληθείας
Category: Faith
NEW for this curriculum, 1:3, 2:10. Natural Konkani word for warm, committed love/affection; here love for revealed truth. Ensure the verb स्वीकारप (receive/accept) carries deliberate welcome, not passive exposure, at 2:10.
Word Of The Lord
Approved rendering: प्रभूचें वचन
Transliteration: prabhūce vacan
Doctrine: Gospel
Original: ὁ λόγος τοῦ κυρίου
Category: Gospel
NEW for this curriculum, 3:1. Related to, but distinct from, सुवार्ता (gospel); emphasizes the message being proclaimed and spreading rather than the content of the good news itself.
Silvanus
Approved rendering: सिलवान
Transliteration: silavān
Doctrine: Proper Name
NEW proper name for this curriculum, 1:1. Established Konkani Bible Society transliteration convention, parallel treatment to दावीद/यशया in the baseline.
Timothy
Approved rendering: तीमथी
Transliteration: tīmathī
Doctrine: Proper Name
NEW proper name for this curriculum, 1:1. Established Konkani/Marathi Bible spelling, distinct from any Hindi-tradition variant.
Thessalonians Address Form
Approved rendering: थेस्सलनीकाकारांक
Transliteration: thessalanīkākārāṅk
Doctrine: Proper Name / Citation Convention
NEW book-address form for this curriculum. Follows the baseline’s fixed citation convention (book name + -कारांक ‘to the people of’), parallel to रोमकारांक for Romans. Must be used identically in the book-title header and all internal cross-references within this curriculum, and reused unchanged in any future curriculum citing 1 or 2 Thessalonians.
