27Atonement as RansomCritical20:28ਛੁਟਕਾਰੇ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ names substitutionary atonement distinctly from ਮੁਕਤੀ; the baseline explicitly rejects bare ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ as a “salvation” substitute — here it names the atoning price paid, a related but separate concept.Human theologian
28Blood of the New CovenantCritical26:26-28ਨੇਮ ਦਾ ਲਹੂ must retain both covenant-ratifying and atoning-sacrifice senses; never merely symbolic remembrance language.Human theologian
29Resurrection of ChristCritical16:21; 17:23; 20:19; 22:23-33; 27:53,63-64; 28:1-10ਪੁਨਰ-ਉਥਾਨ per baseline: bodily, historical, once-for-all; never ਪੁਨਰ-ਜਨਮ/ਆਵਾਗਵਣ.Human theologian
30Sin and the Authority to ForgiveHigh1:21; 6:14-15; 9:2-6; 12:31; 18:15,21-35; 26:28ਪਾਪ remains moral transgression before a personal God, not karma/ritual impurity; 9:6’s ਅਧਿਕਾਰ + ਪਾਪ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰਨਾ is a direct divine-prerogative claim, must not be flattened.Human theologian
31Davidic CovenantHigh1:1,6,17,20; 9:27; 12:23; 21:9,15; 22:42-45Requires OT covenant-promise background explanation; no analogous concept in Sikh/Hindu tradition; structures Matthew’s opening genealogy.Human theologian
32ElectionHigh22:14; 24:22,24,31ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ per baseline: God’s sovereign, personal choice, never ਕਿਸਮਤ (fate); ch. 24’s apocalyptic material intensifies eschatological weight.Human theologian
33Mission to the NationsMedium4:15; 8:11; 10:5-6,18; 12:18,21; 24:14; 28:19ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ vs. Great Commission’s broader ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ are not interchangeable; ਕੌਮ/ਕੌਮਾਂ read generically, not as Sikh Qaum identity.Native speaker review
34The Holy Spirit and the TrinityCritical1:18,20; 3:11,16-17; 4:1; 12:28,31-32; 28:19ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ per baseline: personal, divine third Person, never ਬ੍ਰਹਮ or conflated with ਜੋਤ; 28:19’s baptismal formula is the Gospel’s clearest Trinitarian statement.Human theologian
35The Transfiguration and Divine GloryMedium17:1-8ਰੂਪ ਬਦਲਣਾ/ਮਹਿਮਾ = unveiling of pre-existing glory, not attainment through ascetic/meditative practice.Native speaker review
36Servant LeadershipMedium20:20-28; 23:11ਸੇਵਾ has strong positive Sikh resonance (selfless service/langar) but must stay anchored to Christ’s specific self-giving act (paired with ਛੁਟਕਾਰੇ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ), not a free-floating virtue.Native speaker review
37The Greatest CommandmentMedium22:34-40ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ must retain totalizing covenant-loyalty sense (“heart, soul, mind”), not affectionate feeling or generic ethical goodwill.Native speaker review
38Rejection and Vindication of the MessiahMedium21:33-46ਖੂੰਜੇ ਦਾ ਪੱਥਰ carries no existing collision risk, but the rejection-then-vindication arc (Psalm 118:22 at 21:42) must be preserved, not treated as a standalone building metaphor.Native speaker review
39Genealogy and Covenant LineageLow1:1-17Proper-name transliterations follow established Punjabi Bible forms; minimal ambiguity risk beyond consistency.Automated review
40Compassion and Mercy in MinistryLow9:36; 14:14; 15:32; 20:34ਤਰਸ ਖਾਣਾ is standard, unambiguous vocabulary; low distortion risk, keep visibly grounded in Christ’s character.Automated review

Part 2 — Chapter-by-Chapter Coverage (Matthew 1–28)

Every chapter of Matthew is traced below against the doctrine matrix above. Chapters with lighter doctrinal load are explicitly marked “reviewed — no new load-bearing doctrine” rather than omitted, per full-book-coverage mandate. The core passage (5:1-12) is marked as the curriculum’s theological anchor but is not treated as the boundary of analysis.

Matthew 1 — Genealogy and Covenant Lineage (1:1-17); Davidic Covenant (1:1,6,17,20); Jesus as the Promised Messiah and Son of David (1:1,17); Incarnation and Virgin Birth (1:18-23); Holy Spirit and the Trinity (1:18,20); Fulfillment of Prophecy (1:22-23, Emmanuel citation); Salvation (1:21, first load-bearing ਮੁਕਤੀ occurrence, gloss required); Sin and the Authority to Forgive (1:21). High doctrinal density; opening chapter sets terms for the whole book.

Matthew 2 — Jesus as the Promised Messiah and Son of David (King of the Jews, 2:2); Fulfillment of Prophecy (2:5-6,15,17-18,23, dense fulfillment-formula cluster); Worship Due to Christ (2:2,11, Magi’s ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਣਾ); Davidic Covenant (Bethlehem prophecy).

Matthew 3 — Baptism (3:6,11,13-17); Holy Spirit and the Trinity (3:11,16-17, dove/voice at baptism); Kingdom of Heaven (3:2, John’s proclamation); Sonship of Christ (3:17, Father’s voice); Fulfillment of Prophecy (Isaiah/Elijah typology).

Matthew 4 — Kingdom of Heaven (4:17, Jesus’ proclamation); Sonship of Christ (4:3,6, temptation narrative, tests the Son of God title); Discipleship and the Cost of Following Jesus (4:18-22, call of first disciples); Mission to the Nations (4:15, Galilee of the Gentiles); Fulfillment of Prophecy (4:14-16).

Matthew 5 — CORE PASSAGE (5:1-12, Beatitudes): Kingdom of Heaven (5:3,10); The Authority of Jesus’ Teaching (5:1-2, sermon setting); Righteousness Exceeding the Pharisees (5:20,48); The Law and the Prophets Fulfilled (5:17-18). This chapter is the theological anchor of the curriculum and carries the heaviest concentration of new Section-B glossary terms (Blessed, Poor in Spirit, Meek, Merciful, Pure in Heart, Peacemakers, Perfect, Exceeding Righteousness).

Matthew 6 — Righteousness Exceeding the Pharisees (6:1-18, almsgiving/prayer/fasting triad; Hypocrite, Mammon terms); Sin and the Authority to Forgive (6:14-15); Kingdom of Heaven (6:33, seek first).

Matthew 7 — The Authority of Jesus’ Teaching (7:28-29, crowd’s astonishment, climactic statement); The Law and the Prophets Fulfilled (7:12, Golden Rule); Lordship of Christ (7:21-22, “Lord, Lord”).

Matthew 9 — Sin and the Authority to Forgive (9:2-6, paralytic, direct divine-prerogative claim); Faith (9:2,22,29); Discipleship (9:9, call of Matthew); Son of Man (9:6); Compassion and Mercy in Ministry (9:36).

Matthew 10 — Discipleship and the Cost of Following Jesus (10:1-42, mission discourse); Mission to the Nations (10:5-6,18); Cross-Bearing and Self-Denial (10:38, first “take up his cross” saying).

Matthew 11 — The Law and the Prophets Fulfilled (11:13); Kingdom of Heaven (11:11-12, John the Baptist discourse). Reviewed — no new load-bearing doctrine beyond those already registered; 11:28-30’s “rest” and “yoke” imagery is a Section-B glossary item (Yoke, Rest) but does not introduce a new doctrine category.

Matthew 12 — Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (12:22-32); Lordship of Christ and Son of Man (12:8, Lord of the Sabbath); Mission to the Nations and Fulfillment of Prophecy (12:17-21, Isaiah’s servant citation).

Matthew 13 — Kingdom of Heaven (13:11,24-52, parable discourse); Judgment and the End of the Age (13:36-43,49-50, wheat/tares and net parables); Fulfillment of Prophecy (13:14-15,35).

Matthew 18 — The Church and Church Discipline (18:15-20, full discipline procedure); Keys of the Kingdom / Binding and Loosing (18:18); Kingdom of Heaven (18:1-4, “become like children”); Sin and the Authority to Forgive (18:15,21-35, parable of unforgiving servant).

Matthew 19 — Eternal Life and Eternal Punishment (19:16,29); Salvation (19:25); Kingdom of Heaven (19:14,23-24); Discipleship and the Cost of Following Jesus (19:27-29).

Matthew 23 — The Authority of Jesus’ Teaching (contrast with ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ and ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ throughout); Righteousness Exceeding the Pharisees (23:1-36, seven woes). Reviewed for vocabulary discipline specifically: Scribes (ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ, never ਗ੍ਰੰਥੀ) and Rabbi (ਰਬੀ, spelling discipline against ਰੱਬ collision) are both load-bearing here; no new doctrine category beyond those already registered.

Matthew 24 — Judgment and the End of the Age (24:1-51, Olivet Discourse); The Second Coming of Christ (24:27,30,37,39,44); Election (24:22,24,31); Mission to the Nations (24:14).

Matthew 25 — Eternal Life and Eternal Punishment (25:31-46, sheep and goats — the sharpest single statement of this doctrine in the Gospel); The Second Coming of Christ (25:31); Judgment and the End of the Age (parables of the ten virgins and the talents, 25:1-30).

Matthew 28 — Resurrection of Christ (28:1-10, the empty tomb); The Great Commission (28:18-20); Baptism (28:19); The Holy Spirit and the Trinity (28:19, baptismal formula); Worship Due to Christ (28:9,17); Incarnation (28:20, “I am with you always” — deliberate inclusio with Emmanuel at 1:23).

Part 3 — Cross-Chapter Doctrinal Threads Requiring Consistency

The following doctrines recur across widely separated chapters and require identical Punjabi rendering and identical gloss wording at every occurrence, per the Theological Consistency Rules established in the baseline instruction set:

  • Salvation (ਮੁਕਤੀ): 1:21 → 16:25 → 18:11 → 19:25 → 24:13,22 → 27:42. The mukti-distinction gloss introduced at 1:21 must be worded identically at every later load-bearing occurrence.
  • Son of Man (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ): 8:20 → 9:6 → 12:8 → 16:13,27-28 → 20:28 → 24:27,30,37,44 → 25:31 → 26:64. Must never drift toward
  • Kingdom of Heaven (ਸੁਰਗ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ): first introduced 3:2/4:17, anchored in the core passage at 5:3,10, then recurring through chs. 13, 18, 19, 21, 22, 25. The svarga-clarifying gloss introduced early must be repeated at every later load-bearing occurrence, not assumed as already understood.
  • End of the Age The yuga-clarifying gloss must be worded identically at each occurrence and must visibly connect 28:20 back to 1:23’s Emmanuel promise.
  • Davidic titles (ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ / ਦਾਊਦੀ ਨੇਮ): ch. 1 genealogy → 9:27 → 12:23 → 15:22 → 20:30-31 → 21:9,15 → climaxes at 22:41-45’s unresolved riddle. Translators must not “resolve” the riddle in translation; Punjabi must preserve the paradox as Matthew leaves it.
  • Worship Due to Christ Every occurrence needs the same disambiguating contextual framing distinguishing exclusive divine worship from customary honorific reverence.

Critical Risk Doctrines

Jesus as the Promised Messiah and Son of David

Punjabi name:
Key terms: Son of David, Christ, Messiah, King of the Jews
Review routing: Human theologian

ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ names Jesus as the specific, exclusive fulfillment of the Davidic royal promise; must never be softened into a generic honorific or read as one of several messianic claimants/avatars/gurus in a lineage of divine messengers, a risk already flagged Critical in the baseline for ਮਸੀਹ itself.

Incarnation

Punjabi name:
Key terms: Emmanuel, virgin, conceived, God with us
Review routing: Human theologian

Matthew states the Incarnation both narratively (virgin conception) and nominally (Emmanuel, ‘God with us’). As in the baseline, ਦੇਹਧਾਰਨ must never be rendered ਅਵਤਾਰ; Sikh-heritage readers may additionally hear any claim of God taking bodily form as contradicting Waheguru’s revealed nature as ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ (the Formless One), requiring an explanatory bridge rather than vocabulary substitution alone.

The Virgin Birth

Punjabi name:
Key terms: virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit
Review routing: Human theologian

ਕੁਆਰੀ must never be softened to a generic ‘young woman’; the miraculous, non-repeatable virginal conception is the historical ground for the Incarnation and Sonship of Christ doctrines and must not be assimilated to South Asian legendary-birth or avatar-descent narrative patterns.

Deity of Christ

Punjabi name:
Key terms: Son of God, worship him, power of God, David’s Lord
Review routing: Human theologian

Matthew repeatedly narrates acts of ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਣਾ/ਉਪਾਸਨਾ (worship/prostration) offered to Jesus. This gesture is also the culturally normed honorific bow given to the Guru Granth Sahib, elders, and revered teachers in Punjabi religious life generally; every occurrence applied to Jesus must be contextually unambiguous that this is exclusive worship due to one recognized as divine, not the ordinary honorific gesture.

Sonship of Christ

Punjabi name:
Key terms: Son of God, my beloved Son, the Son
Review routing: Human theologian

As in the baseline, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ must retain eternal, unique, co-equal Sonship; Matthew’s own narrative (Peter’s confession, the Father’s voice at baptism and transfiguration) intensifies this claim and it must never be read as a spiritual-lineage relationship analogous to a Guru’s chosen successor.

Son of Man

Punjabi name:
Key terms: Son of Man
Review routing: Human theologian

ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ is Jesus’ preferred self-designation, drawing on Daniel 7’s exalted judge-and-ruler figure while affirming full humanity. It must not be flattened to a mere synonym for ‘a human being’ nor collapsed into ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ; the two titles carry distinct but related theological freight that Punjabi study materials must keep visibly separate.

Lordship of Christ

Punjabi name:
Key terms: Lord, David’s Lord, Lord of the Sabbath
Review routing: Human theologian

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ must retain exclusive, supreme lordship exactly as fixed in the baseline; Matthew 22:41-45’s riddle (David’s son yet David’s Lord) is a direct Christological claim that must not be smoothed over, and must never be rendered through or associated with ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ.

Judgment and the End of the Age

Punjabi name:
Key terms: end of the age, judgment, coming of the Son of Man
Review routing: Human theologian

ਜੁਗ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ carries strong Hindu cosmological freight from the cycle of four yugas; every doctrinally load-bearing occurrence requires a mandatory clarifying gloss, on the ਮੁਕਤੀ model, stating this is history’s single, linear, once-for-all consummation at Christ’s return, not a stage giving way to a new cosmic cycle.

Eternal Life and Eternal Punishment

Punjabi name:
Key terms: eternal life, eternal punishment
Review routing: Human theologian

ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ and ਸਦੀਪਕ ਸਜ਼ਾ are deliberately parallel in duration in Matthew 25:46 and must retain equal, unending force in Punjabi; neither Hindu nor Sikh cosmology contains a strict analogue to unending conscious punishment (Hindu naraka and comparable notions are themselves temporary phases within the rebirth cycle), so this doctrine requires explanatory framing beyond vocabulary alone.

The Second Coming of Christ

Punjabi name:
Key terms: coming of the Son of Man, as the lightning, no one knows the day
Review routing: Human theologian

ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਆਉਣਾ must be kept a visible, public, unmistakable historical event, contrasted sharply with false claims of secret or local appearances (24:23-26); it must not be softened into a private spiritual experience or an already-fully-realized present reality only.

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit

Punjabi name:
Key terms: blasphemy against the Spirit, unforgivable sin
Review routing: Human theologian

ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ names settled, final hostility to the Spirit’s testimony to Christ, not any single sinful act or momentary doubt; requires careful pastoral framing in Punjabi study materials so as not to induce false fear in believers over ordinary doubt, while preserving the passage’s real severity.

Salvation

Punjabi name:
Key terms: save, saved, he will save his people
Review routing: Human theologian

ਮੁਕਤੀ per baseline retains its mandatory Sikh/Christian mukti-distinction gloss requirement in Matthew exactly as in Romans; Matthew 1:21’s naming of Jesus (‘he will save his people from their sins’) is a doctrinally load-bearing first occurrence requiring the gloss from the Gospel’s opening verses.

Atonement as Ransom

Punjabi name:
Key terms: ransom for many, give his life
Review routing: Human theologian

ਛੁਟਕਾਰੇ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ states substitutionary atonement in its clearest Matthean form. Note the baseline’s ਮੁਕਤੀ entry explicitly rejects ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ alone as a substitute for ‘salvation’; here ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ paired with ਮੁੱਲ names a genuinely distinct concept — the atoning price paid — and must not be confused with, or substituted for, ਮੁਕਤੀ.

Blood of the New Covenant

Punjabi name:
Key terms: blood of the covenant, this is my blood
Review routing: Human theologian

ਨੇਮ ਦਾ ਲਹੂ must retain both the covenant-ratifying sense (echoing Exodus 24:8 and Jeremiah 31’s New Covenant) and the atoning-sacrifice sense together; must not be rendered as merely symbolic remembrance language that loses the sacrificial, blood-covenant dimension.

Resurrection of Christ

Punjabi name:
Key terms: raised, risen, he is not here
Review routing: Human theologian

ਪੁਨਰ-ਉਥਾਨ per baseline: bodily, historical, once-for-all resurrection, never ਪੁਨਰ-ਜਨਮ or ਆਵਾਗਵਣ. Matthew 22:23-33’s Sadducee debate directly engages resurrection’s reality and must retain the bodily, singular, non-cyclical sense the baseline already establishes.

The Holy Spirit and the Trinity

Punjabi name:
Key terms: Holy Spirit, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
Review routing: Human theologian

ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ per baseline remains the personal, divine third Person, never ਬ੍ਰਹਮ or conflated with ਜੋਤ; Matthew 28:19’s baptismal formula states the clearest Trinitarian pattern in the Gospel and the singular shared ‘name’ of three Persons should be preserved grammatically where Punjabi syntax allows.

High Risk Doctrines

The Kingdom of Heaven

Punjabi name:
Key terms: kingdom of heaven, kingdom of God
Review routing: Human theologian

ਸੁਰਗ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ risks being heard through the shared Hindu-Sikh popular category of svarga, a temporary heavenly reward-realm reached by merit before eventual return within ਆਵਾਗਵਣ (the cycle of transmigration). Every load-bearing occurrence requires a mandatory clarifying gloss, on the same model as the baseline’s ਮੁਕਤੀ gloss, stating this is God’s in-breaking, eternal reign, not a temporary merit-based heaven.

Fulfillment of Old Testament Prophecy

Punjabi name:
Key terms: fulfilled, as it is written, the prophets said
Review routing: Human theologian

Matthew’s fulfillment-quotation formula (used more densely here than in any other Gospel) frames history as a single linear movement from Old Testament promise to New Testament completion in Christ. ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨਾ must be kept strictly linear and unrepeatable, resisting assimilation into either Hindu yuga-cycle cosmology or the cycle of ਆਵਾਗਵਣ already flagged as a risk for resurrection language in the baseline.

Worship Due to Christ

Punjabi name:
Key terms: worship, bowed down, fell before him
Review routing: Human theologian

ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਣਾ, the natural Punjabi rendering, is also the everyday physical gesture of reverence before the Guru Granth Sahib and respected elders; every doctrinally load-bearing occurrence directed at Jesus must be paired with context or a translator note establishing that this is worship due to deity, not customary honorific respect.

The Authority of Jesus’ Teaching

Punjabi name:
Key terms: authority, taught as one having authority, not as the scribes
Review routing: Human theologian

ਅਧਿਕਾਰ must convey Jesus’ inherent, self-authenticating divine authority, contrasted with the derived, tradition-citing authority of the ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ (scribes); this must not be flattened into merely impressive rhetorical skill, and the scribes’ title must never regress to ਗ੍ਰੰਥੀ, the reserved Sikh institutional title for the Guru Granth Sahib’s custodian.

Righteousness Exceeding the Pharisees

Punjabi name:
Key terms: exceed, righteousness, unless your righteousness
Review routing: Human theologian

ਵਧੀਕ ਧਾਰਮਿਕਤਾ must be understood as inward, Spirit-produced righteousness exceeding the Pharisees’ external rule-keeping, not as ‘keep more rules than the Pharisees’ — precisely the misreading Matthew 5:20 corrects. ਧਾਰਮਿਕਤਾ itself remains Critical per baseline and must never regress to ਧਰਮ.

The Law and the Prophets Fulfilled

Punjabi name:
Key terms: Law, Prophets, fulfill, not abolish
Review routing: Human theologian

‘I have not come to abolish the Law…but to fulfill’ states a hermeneutical principle for the whole Gospel: linear historical completion of a single divine plan, never a recurring cosmic cycle or a generalized ਧਰਮ-style cosmic duty; ਬਿਵਸਥਾ per baseline must never be rendered ਧਰਮ or ਸ਼ਰੀਅਤ.

The Church and Church Discipline

Punjabi name:
Key terms: church, if your brother sins, gathered church
Review routing: Human theologian

The restorative purpose of ਮੰਡਲੀ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ (winning back the brother) must be clearly distinguished from punitive exclusion modeled on caste-based social sanction, a live risk in Punjabi cultural context where communal exclusion carries strong social weight extending even into Sikh community life despite Sikhism’s formal rejection of caste.

Keys of the Kingdom / Binding and Loosing

Punjabi name:
Key terms: keys of the kingdom, bind and loose
Review routing: Human theologian

ਰਾਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁੰਜੀਆਂ and ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਣਾ must be understood as delegated, Spirit-guided declarative authority exercised by the gathered church under heaven’s prior authorization, not as ritual binding/exorcistic practice — a real risk given magic-binding motifs present in some regional folk-religious practice in Punjab.

The Great Commission

Punjabi name:
Key terms: make disciples, all nations, all authority, to the end of the age
Review routing: Human theologian

ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਬਣਾਓ is intentionally broader than the baseline’s ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ (gentiles specifically) — here Israel is included, not excluded; the two phrases must not be treated as interchangeable, and ‘making disciples’ must retain its active, ongoing-formation sense rather than a one-time conversion event.

Baptism

Punjabi name:
Key terms: baptize, baptism, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
Review routing: Human theologian

ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ must be kept doctrinally distinct from the Khalsa Amrit Sanchar initiation rite, which also functions as a decisive, ceremony-marked entry into a new communal identity; Christian baptism is identification with Christ’s death and resurrection into a Trinitarian name, not initiation into a warrior-community.

Discipleship and the Cost of Following Jesus

Punjabi name:
Key terms: follow me, disciple, leave everything
Review routing: Human theologian

ਚੇਲਾ is the established, natural Punjabi rendering, but it is also the ordinary word for a guru’s or pir’s devotee across Sikh, Hindu, and Sufi contexts in Punjab. Every doctrinally load-bearing occurrence must make clear that discipleship to Jesus is allegiance to the unique, divine Lord who alone may claim total loyalty (10:37-39), not membership in one devotee-circle among many equally valid guru-lineages.

Cross-Bearing and Self-Denial

Punjabi name:
Key terms: take up his cross, deny himself, lose his life
Review routing: Human theologian

ਸਲੀਬ ਚੁੱਕਣਾ and ਆਪੇ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ must retain the sense of costly, total, public allegiance to Christ specifically, not be softened into generic hardship-bearing or assimilated to ascetic self-denial practiced as an independent spiritual technique, a pattern present in some South Asian renunciate traditions.

Faith

Punjabi name:
Key terms: faith, little faith, great faith
Review routing: Human theologian

ਨਿਹਚਾ per baseline: personal trust in Christ specifically, not generalized devotional reverence (ਸ਼ਰਧਾ). Matthew’s ਥੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਨਿਹਚਾ motif (Peter’s wavering, the disciples’ storm-fear) must retain ਨਿਹਚਾ exactly, never substituting a different root word for ‘faith’ in the compound.

Sin and the Authority to Forgive

Punjabi name:
Key terms: sin, forgive, authority to forgive sins
Review routing: Human theologian

ਪਾਪ per baseline remains moral transgression before a personal God, distinct from ritual impurity or accumulated bad karma; Matthew 9:6 additionally makes the authority to forgive sins (ਅਧਿਕਾਰ paired with ਪਾਪ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰਨਾ) a direct claim to divine prerogative, which must not be flattened to a general statement about forgiveness being available.

Davidic Covenant

Punjabi name:
Key terms: son of David, throne of David
Review routing: Human theologian

As in the baseline, requires Old Testament covenant-promise background explanation since no analogous covenantal-promise concept exists in Sikh or Hindu tradition; Matthew opens and structures its genealogy (1:1-17) explicitly around this covenant fulfillment.

Election

Punjabi name:
Key terms: the elect, chosen
Review routing: Human theologian

ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ per baseline: God’s sovereign, personal choice, never ਕਿਸਮਤ (fate); Matthew 24’s apocalyptic material intensifies the term’s eschatological weight and must retain its personal, sovereign sense against any impersonal-fate misreading.

Medium Risk Doctrines

Human Tradition vs. God’s Commandment

Punjabi name:
Key terms: tradition of the elders, defile, commandment of God
Review routing: Native speaker review

Jesus subordinates ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ (human tradition) to God’s actual commandment and relocates defilement from ritual/external practice to the heart; low collision risk in vocabulary, but the passage’s critical edge against tradition-elevated-above-Scripture must be preserved for native speaker review.

Mission to the Nations

Punjabi name:
Key terms: all nations, gentiles, to the ends of the earth
Review routing: Native speaker review

ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ (gentiles specifically) and the Great Commission’s broader ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ (all nations, including Israel) must not be treated as interchangeable; ensure ਕੌਮ/ਕੌਮਾਂ is read generically and not misheard as a reference to the specific Sikh Qaum identity concept.

The Transfiguration and Divine Glory

Punjabi name:
Key terms: transfigured, glory, this is my beloved Son
Review routing: Native speaker review

ਰੂਪ ਬਦਲਣਾ/ਮਹਿਮਾ must be framed as the unveiling of glory the Son of God already possesses, not attainment of a higher spiritual state through practice — a pattern otherwise easily assumed by readers familiar with narratives of ascetics or yogis achieving luminous states through meditation.

Servant Leadership

Punjabi name:
Key terms: serve, not to be served but to serve
Review routing: Native speaker review

ਸੇਵਾ carries strong positive resonance as a central devotional practice in Sikh tradition (selfless service, e.g. langar); a genuine point of contact worth using pastorally, but must stay anchored to Christ’s specific self-giving act (paired with ਛੁਟਕਾਰੇ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ, 20:28) rather than reduced to a generic virtuous practice divorced from him.

The Greatest Commandment

Punjabi name:
Key terms: love the Lord your God, love your neighbor
Review routing: Native speaker review

ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ must retain the totalizing, covenant-loyalty sense (‘with all your heart, soul, and mind’) Matthew 22:37 specifies, summarizing the Law and Prophets, not reduced to affectionate feeling or generic ethical goodwill.

Rejection and Vindication of the Messiah

Punjabi name:
Key terms: cornerstone, rejected, the stone the builders rejected
Review routing: Native speaker review

ਖੂੰਜੇ ਦਾ ਪੱਥਰ is a structural metaphor without an existing religious-collision risk in Punjabi culture, but the rejection-then-vindication narrative arc (Psalm 118:22 quoted at 21:42) must be preserved rather than treated as a standalone building metaphor.

Low Risk Doctrines

Genealogy and Covenant Lineage

Punjabi name:
Key terms: the book of the genealogy, son of David, son of Abraham
Review routing: Automated review

Proper-name transliterations follow established Punjabi Bible forms throughout; minimal doctrinal ambiguity risk beyond consistent transliteration of names already fixed in the baseline and this package’s proper-name conventions.

Compassion and Mercy in Ministry

Punjabi name:
Key terms: compassion, moved with pity, merciful
Review routing: Automated review

ਤਰਸ ਖਾਣਾ is standard, unambiguous Punjabi vocabulary for Jesus’ gut-level compassion motivating healing and teaching; low risk of doctrinal distortion, though it should remain visibly grounded in Christ’s own character rather than presented as free-floating virtue.
