Core Glossary

Core Glossary — 2 Timothy (English → Dogri)

This glossary consolidates every load-bearing theological term identified in 07_semantic_analysis.md, across all four chapters of 2 Timothy. It is organized in two parts:

  • Part A — Terms reused exactly from the baseline Romans translation_memory.json. These renderings are locked; do not alter.
  • Part B — New terms introduced by 2 Timothy’s specific content, proposed here for the first time, with risk tier, rationale, and collision notes. These must be added to translation_memory.json and bible_term_registry.json before Phase 2 translation begins, per the Translation Memory Load and Enforcement Instructions in 12_ai_translation_requirements.md.

Risk tiers follow the baseline doctrine_risk_registry.json framework: Critical (human theologian review, every occurrence) · High (human theologian review) · Medium (native speaker review) · Low (automated review sufficient).

Part B — New Terms Introduced by 2 Timothy

B.1 Scripture, Inspiration, and Sufficiency

English TermDogri RenderingTransliterationRiskRationale / Collision NoteKey Passages
Scripture / Sacred Writingsपवित्तर शास्तरpavittar shastarCriticalशास्तर alone is generic North Indian vocabulary for any authoritative religious/philosophical treatise, including the Sanskrit textual tradition historically commissioned by the Dogra royal court. पवित्तर must always accompany it.3:15, 3:16
God-breathedपरमेश्वरे दे फूक कन्नै लिखी गेईparmeshware de phook kannai likhi geiCriticalMust not be confused with the Vedas’ apauruṣeya (eternal, impersonal, authorless sound) doctrine or guru-transmitted revelation. Personal, purposive divine authorship through human writers.3:16
Profitable / UsefulफायदेमंदfayedemandLowStandard vocabulary.3:16
Teaching / DoctrineसिखलाईsikhlaiHighPrefer this Dogri-Punjabi cognate over उपदेश, which carries guru-updesh/spiritual-discourse resonance from regional Hindu and Sikh devotional practice.3:16, 4:2, 4:3
Sound doctrine / sound teachingखरी सिखलाईkhari sikhlaiHighDeliberately parallel to baseline खरी खबर (“gospel”); reuses खरी (“true/genuine”) to build a consistent Dogri-specific term family distinct from Hindi/Sanskrit loans.4:3
Reproofदोष दिखानाdosh dikhanaMedium3:16, 4:2
CorrectionसुधारनाsudharnaMedium3:16
Training / Discipline (paideia)धरमीपन आस्तै सिखलाईdharmipan aaste sikhlaiMediumDescriptive phrase preferred over अनुशासन, which carries formal dharma-shastra/legalistic-code connotations.3:16
Complete / Sufficient (artios)पूरा ते तैयारpoora te tiyarHighKey sufficiency term; must not imply Scripture is one helpful resource among several (e.g., alongside guru-instruction or shastra).3:17
Man of Godपरमेश्वर दा मनुक्खParmeshwar da mankhuHighNEVER महात्मा, गुरु, or साधु; an ordinary believer shaped by Scripture, not a spiritually elevated holy-man category.3:17
Fully equippedपूरी तरह तैयार कीता होयाpoori tarah tiyar kita hoyaMedium3:17
Pattern of sound wordsखरी सिखलाई दा नमूनाkhari sikhlai da namunaHighReuses खरी सिखलाई for consistency.1:13

B.2 The Charge to Preach and Judgment/Appearing

English TermDogri RenderingTransliterationRiskRationale / Collision NoteKey Passages
Solemnly chargeगवाह रखियै हुकम देनाgavah rakhiyai hukam denaHighLegally/covenantally weighted commission; must never be flattened to a casual request.4:1
To judge (the living and the dead)न्याय करना / न्याय करने आळाnyay karna / nyay karne aalaCriticalRisk of assimilation to Yama/Chitragupta karmic judgment mythology; teach as Christ’s unique, personal, final judgment.4:1
The living and the deadजिंदयां ते मुर्दयांjindeyan te murdeyanCriticalSee above; universal scope, no lineage/honor-rank exemption.4:1
Appearing (of Christ, epiphaneia)परगट होनाpargat honaHighNever अवतार; must not be conflated with avatar-descent or temple-darshan appearance. This is Christ’s final, climactic return.1:10, 4:1, 4:8
Preach / Proclaimप्रचार करनाprachar karnaMedium-HighBuilt on the baseline mission/evangelism root; prefer verb phrase over noun प्रचारक (see “Herald” below).4:2
Herald (noun)प्रचार करने वालाprachar karne walaMedium-HighAvoid single-word प्रचारक, which carries a contemporary socio-political organizational association in North India.1:11
The word (of God)बचनbachanMediumDistinct from generic बात; shared usage with Sikh “bachan/shabad” tradition noted for translator awareness, not forbidden.4:2
Be ready (in season, out of season)हर वेल्लै त्यार रह् / वेल्ले-बेवेल्लेhar vellai tiyar reh / velle-bevelleMedium/Low (idiom)Translate meaning plainly; do not force a literal calque.4:2
RebukeडांटdaantMedium4:2
Patience / Longsufferingसब्रsabrLow-MediumWidely shared regional loanword; confirm register against BSI Dogri Bible.4:2

B.3 Apostasy, False Teachers, and the Last Days

English TermDogri RenderingTransliterationRiskRationale / Collision NoteKey Passages
Last daysआखरी दिनaakhri dinCriticalHIGH SALIENCE: 2 Tim 3’s vice-list resembles popular Kali Yuga descriptions in cyclical Hindu cosmology. Must be taught as linear, historical, one-time-consummation eschatology, never a cyclical decline-renewal framework.3:1
Godliness / Form of godlinessपरमेश्वर दे अनुसार जीवनParmeshwar de anusar jeevanCriticalNEVER भक्ति (bhakti) as primary rendering — the central term of North Indian devotionalism (bhakti movement, temple bhakti at Raghunath Mandir/Vaishno Devi); avoids both a generic-devotion misreading and an inadvertent, inflammatory critique of bhakti practice itself.3:5, 3:12
Myths / Fablesमनघड़ंत कहाणियांmangharant kahaniyanHighNEVER पुराण (Puranas) or कथा (sacred religious discourse, e.g. Ramkatha) — both carry strong positive sacred-narrative connotations.4:4
Itching ears (idiom)नई-नित्तियां गल्लां सुनने दी लालसाnai-nittian gallan sunne di lalsaMedium (idiom)Preserve the theological point (craving novelty over soundness); avoid an unnatural literal calque.4:3
Turn awayमूं फेरनाmoon phernaMediumReused consistently at 1:15 and 4:4 to mark the apostasy theme across the book.1:15, 4:4
Deceivers / ImpostorsधोकेबाजdhokebaazMedium3:13
Persecutionसताया जानाsataya janaHighAnchors “Perseverance under Suffering”; universal principle for all who live godly.3:12
DevilशैतानshaitanHighPersonal, defeated evil being; distinct from generic bhoot-pret folk spirits and from माया (illusion) as impersonal principle.2:26
SnareफंदाphandaMedium2:26
Repentanceमन फिरानाman phiranaCriticalAbsent from baseline Romans package; must be distinguished from prāyaścitta (ritual/ascetic penance) and from mere पछतावा (regret without change of direction).2:25
Knowledge of the truthसच्चाई दी पछानsachai di pachhanHighAvoid primary rendering as ज्ञान (jñāna), the central term of jnana-yoga; qualify as personal recognition of gospel truth.2:25
Resurrection already happened (false teaching)(uses मुर्दघरा चा जिंदा होना, flagged as a corrupted claim)CriticalMust be sharply distinguished from the true bodily future resurrection doctrine.2:18

B.4 Faithful Transmission and Guarding Sound Doctrine

English TermDogri RenderingTransliterationRiskRationale / Collision NoteKey Passages
Entrusted depositसौंपी गेई अमानतsaumpi gei amanatMediumअमानत is a shared Indic-Persian loanword with Islamic ethical-legal resonance (amanah); core meaning is compatible; confirm against BSI Dogri Bible.1:12, 1:14
Guard (the deposit)निगाह रखणाnigah rakhnaHighCentral verb for “Guarding Sound Doctrine.”1:14
Entrust (to faithful men)सौंपणाsaumpnaHighAnchors “Faithful Transmission of the Gospel” — a multi-generational chain of entrusted teaching.2:2
Faithful / Trustworthy (pistos, of people/sayings)भरोसे-जोग्गbharose-joggHighBuilt on baseline भरोसा; used of both people (2:2) and God’s own character (2:13).2:2, 2:11, 2:13
Rightly handling the word of truthसच्चाई दे बचन गी ठीक ढंगै कन्नै समझानाsachai de bachan gi theek dhangai kannai samjhaunaHighPositive craft-metaphor for careful doctrinal handling.2:15
God’s foundation / sealमजबूत नींह / मोहरmajboot neenh / moharMediumGod’s secure ownership of his true people amid false teaching.2:19
Vessels for honor / dishonorभांडे — आदर / निआदरीbhande — aadar / niaadariHighDirectly engages Dogra Rajput izzat (honor) culture; teach as moral usefulness to God, not lineage/social honor-rank.2:20-21

B.5 Perseverance under Suffering and Assurance of Reward

English TermDogri RenderingTransliterationRiskRationale / Collision NoteKey Passages
Endure hardship / sufferदुख सहणाdukh sehnaHighCore “Perseverance under Suffering” verb, reused across chapters (1:8 [शेयर करना, “share in”], 2:3, 2:9, 4:5).1:8, 2:3, 2:9, 4:5
Endure (for the elect’s sake)सहन करना / झेलनाsehan karna / jhelnaHighTies perseverance directly to election doctrine.2:10
Be sober / watchfulहोश च रहणाhosh cha rehnaMedium4:5
Evangelistखरी खबर सुणाने वाले दा कम्मkhari khabar sunane wale da kammMedium-HighBuilt compositionally on baseline खरी खबर rather than an unrelated loanword.4:5
Ministry / Service (diakonia)सेवाsevaHighCULTURAL COLLISION FLAG: सेवा is also the standard word for devotional temple/gurdwara service (e.g., langar seva) across the wider Punjab-Dogra region, often understood as merit-generating. Must be taught as gospel-ministry entrusted by Christ, not generic religious volunteer service.4:5, 4:11
Fulfill / carry out completelyपूरी तरह निबाहनाpoori tarah nibahnaMedium4:5
Crown of righteousnessधरमीपन दा मुकटdharmipan da mukatHighCULTURAL COLLISION FLAG: crown/mukat imagery is strongly associated with deity ornamentation (temple deities ceremonially crowned, e.g. at Vaishno Devi and Raghunath Mandir) and Dogra dynastic regalia. Teach as Christ’s eschatological reward, never a devotional or royal crown-object.4:8
Righteous judgeधरमी न्यायीdharmi nyayiCriticalBuilt on धरमीपन and the judgment vocabulary of 4:1.4:8
Saviorउद्धारकर्ताuddharkartaCriticalBuilt transparently on baseline उद्धार. NEVER तारणहार, a Vaishnava bhakti epithet (Rama/Krishna “ferrying” devotees across samsara), which would reintroduce the rebirth-cycle framework already forbidden for “salvation.”1:10
ImmortalityअमरताamartaCriticalHIGH SALIENCE: resonates with अमृत (mythological nectar of immortality, Samudra Manthan) and with “Amrit,” the Sikh baptismal initiation rite. Must be taught as unending resurrected life through Christ alone.1:10
Heavenly kingdomपरमेश्वर दा राज्य + स्वर्गीयParmeshwar da rajya + swargiyaMedium-Highस्वर्ग (“heaven”) also names the temporary Hindu heavenly realm (svarga); the Christian “heavenly kingdom” is the believer’s permanent, eternal home, unlike impermanent svarga.4:18
Rescued (from the lion’s mouth / from evil)बचानाbachanaMediumVivid deliverance imagery; distinct from, but supportive of, उद्धार.4:17-18

B.6 Supporting / Lower-Risk Terms

English TermDogri RenderingTransliterationRiskRationale / Collision NoteKey Passages
Mercy (eleos, distinct from grace)दयाdayaMediumMust not be collapsed into or confused with the full grace-compound (which already contains दया internally).1:2
ConscienceजमीरjamirMediumPrefer over अंतरात्मा, which carries ātman/soul-metaphysics associations.1:3
Love (agapē)प्रेमpremMediumCarries devotional-bhakti resonance (prem bhakti); teach as committed, self-giving covenantal love, not romantic/ecstatic devotional passion.1:7, 2:22, 3:2-4, 4:8, 4:10
Self-controlआपे उप्पर काबूaape uppar kabuMedium1:7
Ashamedशर्म करना / लजानाsharam karnaHighDirectly engages izzat (honor/shame) culture; public non-shame regarding the gospel carries real honor-cost.1:8, 1:12, 1:16
Testimony / witnessगवाहीgavahiMedium1:8
Purpose (prothesis)मनसा / इरादाmansa / iradaMediumTies to baseline election/providence terms.1:9

Gentleness (in correction)नरमीnarmiMedium2:25

Vice-catalogue terms (collective)(rendered plainly per term, see 07_semantic_analysis.md §Ch.3)Individually Low-Medium; collectively High (Kali Yuga resonance)See “last days” entry above.3:2-5
Libation / poured outडोहलेआ जानाdohlea janaMediumAvoid importing Hindu ritual libation connotations (arghya, tarpan) uncritically.4:6
Fought the good fight / finished the raceलड़ाई लड़ी / दौड़ पूरी कीतीladai ladi / daud poori kitiMediumAthletic-contest metaphor, cultural-metaphor flag for native speaker review.4:7
Soldier / athlete / farmer metaphorsसिपाही / खिलाड़ी / किसानsipahi / khiladi / kisanLow-MediumCultural metaphor; flag for native speaker review per standard convention.2:3-6

Critical Risk Terms

Grace

Approved rendering: बिना कमाई दित्ती दया
Transliteration: bina kamai ditti daya
Doctrine: Grace
Rejected alternatives: मन्नत दा फल (vow-granted boon, never use), पुण्य (merit earned through right action, never use)
Original: χάρις
Category: Salvation

Inherited from Romans package; reuse exactly. 2 Tim 1:9 explicitly grounds the holy calling in grace ‘not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace’ — a direct statement resisting both merit (puṇya) and the Vaishno Devi mannat vow-for-boon exchange logic.

Righteousness

Approved rendering: धरमीपन
Transliteration: dharmipan
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: धरम (avoid Dogra Rajput lineage/honor-duty sense)
Original: δικαιοσύνη
Category: Salvation

Inherited from Romans package; reuse exactly. Anchors 2 Tim 3:16 (Scripture trains ‘in righteousness’) and 4:8 (‘crown of righteousness’).

Imputed Righteousness

Approved rendering: गिनी गेई धरमीपन
Transliteration: gini gei dharmipan
Doctrine: Justification by Faith
Rejected alternatives: कमाई गेई धरमीपन (earned righteousness, explicitly rejected)
Original: ἐλογίσθη αὐτῷ εἰς δικαιοσύνην
Category: Salvation

Inherited from Romans package; reuse exactly. Doctrinal background for 2 Tim 3:16-17 and 4:8’s crown of righteousness — reward flows from credited standing, not merit accumulation; must be guarded against regional puṇya logic.

Salvation

Approved rendering: उद्धार
Transliteration: uddhar
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: मुक्ति (liberation from rebirth, never use), मनोकामना पूरी होना (mannat wish-granting, never use)
Original: σωτηρία
Category: Salvation

Inherited from Romans package; reuse exactly. Used at 2 Tim 2:10, 3:15, 4:18.

Savior

Approved rendering: उद्धारकर्ता
Transliteration: uddharkarta
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: तारणहार (a Vaishnava bhakti epithet for Rama/Krishna ‘ferrying’ devotees across samsara; never use — reintroduces the rebirth-cycle framework forbidden for salvation)
Original: σωτήρ
Category: Christology

NEW for 2 Timothy (1:10). Built transparently on the locked Critical term उद्धार so the two remain visibly linked.

Immortality

Approved rendering: अमरता
Transliteration: amarta
Doctrine: Immortality and Resurrection Life
Rejected alternatives: अमृत (mythological nectar of immortality, Samudra Manthan, never use), “Amrit” (the Sikh baptismal initiation rite amrit sanskar, never use or allude to)
Original: ἀφθαρσία
Category: Eschatology

NEW for 2 Timothy (1:10). HIGH SALIENCE RISK unique to Dogri’s Jammu-Punjab border context (absent from the Hindi-only baseline register). Must be taught as unending resurrection life through Christ alone.

Resurrection

Approved rendering: मुर्दघरा चा जिंदा होना
Transliteration: murdaghara cha jinda hona
Doctrine: Resurrection of Christ
Rejected alternatives: पुनर्जन्म (reincarnation, never use)
Original: ἀνάστασις
Category: Eschatology

Inherited from Romans package; reuse exactly. CRITICAL COMPOUNDED RISK: the identical phrase appears twice in close proximity — 2:8 as true doctrine and 2:18 describing Hymenaeus and Philetus’s refuted false claim that ‘the resurrection has already happened.’ Every occurrence at 2:18 requires a mandatory translator note marking it as refuted error, never left ambiguous alongside 2:8’s true doctrine.

Lord

Approved rendering: प्रभु
Transliteration: prabhu
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: महाराजा (the historic Dogra dynastic royal title, never use)
Original: κύριος
Category: Christology

Inherited from Romans package; reuse exactly. Used throughout 2 Timothy (1:2, 1:8, 1:16, 1:18, 2:7, 2:19, 2:22, 2:24, 4:1, 4:8, 4:14, 4:17, 4:18, 4:22).

Judge Living And Dead

Approved rendering: जिंदयां ते मुर्दयां दा न्याय करने आळा
Transliteration: jindeyan te murdeyan da nyay karne aala
Doctrine: Christ’s Judgment of the Living and the Dead
Rejected alternatives: any phrasing implying a parallel to Yama’s judgment-court or Chitragupta’s karmic ledger, never use
Original: κρίνειν ζῶντας καὶ νεκρούς
Category: Eschatology

NEW for 2 Timothy (4:1). CRITICAL: this pairing risks reassimilation to the regional mythological frame of Yama (Hindu god of death) and Chitragupta’s karmic record-keeping. Must be taught as Christ’s own unique, personal, once-for-all final judgment.

Son Of God

Approved rendering: परमेश्वर दा पुत्तर
Transliteration: Parmeshwar da puttar
Doctrine: Sonship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: अवतार (avatar-descent, explicit downgrade, never use)
Original: υἱὸς θεοῦ
Category: Christology

Inherited from Romans package; reuse exactly as doctrinal background undergirding ‘Christ Jesus’ throughout 2 Timothy.

Messiah

Approved rendering: मसीह
Transliteration: masih
Doctrine: Messianic Promise
Original: Χριστός
Category: Christology

Inherited from Romans package; reuse exactly. Used constantly throughout 2 Timothy as ‘Christ Jesus.‘

Jesus

Approved rendering: यीशु
Transliteration: Yishu
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: ईसा (Muslim/Urdu-influenced context; reserve for interfaith-dialogue framing only)
Original: Ἰησοῦς
Category: Christology

Inherited from Romans package; reuse exactly. Used constantly throughout 2 Timothy as ‘Christ Jesus’ or ‘the Lord Jesus.‘

God

Approved rendering: परमेश्वर
Transliteration: Parmeshwar
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Rejected alternatives: भगवान (broad Hindu deity usage, avoid for doctrinal precision)
Original: θεός
Category: God

Inherited from Romans package; reuse exactly. Used throughout, including as co-witness of the solemn charge (4:1).

Holy Spirit

Approved rendering: पवित्तर आत्मा
Transliteration: pavittar aatma
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: शक्ति (goddess-power, never use), परमात्मा alone (Hindu universal Self, never use)
Original: πνεῦμα ἅγιον
Category: God

Inherited from Romans package; reuse exactly. 2 Tim 1:14: the entrusted deposit is guarded ‘by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us’ — personal, indwelling Guardian, never impersonal life-force.

Father

Approved rendering: पिता
Transliteration: pita
Doctrine: Adoption into God’s Family
Original: πατήρ
Category: God

Inherited from Romans package; reuse exactly. 2 Tim 1:2 greeting formula.

Scripture

Approved rendering: पवित्तर शास्तर
Transliteration: pavittar shastar
Doctrine: Inspiration and Sufficiency of Scripture
Rejected alternatives: शास्तर alone (generic North Indian term for any authoritative religious/philosophical treatise, including the Dogra-court-patronized Sanskrit textual tradition; never use unqualified)
Original: ἱερὰ γράμματα / γραφή
Category: Scripture

NEW for 2 Timothy (3:15, 3:16). पवित्तर must always accompany शास्तर to mark God’s unique inspired writings apart from the broader shastra tradition.

God Breathed

Approved rendering: परमेश्वरे दे फूक कन्नै लिखी गेई
Transliteration: parmeshware de phook kannai likhi gei
Doctrine: Inspiration and Sufficiency of Scripture
Rejected alternatives: a bare abstract-noun ‘inspiration’ construction (risks softening into generic human religious insight)
Original: θεόπνευστος
Category: Scripture

NEW for 2 Timothy (3:16). Must never be assimilated to the Vedas’ apauruṣeya doctrine (eternal, impersonal, authorless sound) or guru-transmitted revelation; this is personal, purposive divine authorship through chosen human writers, once for all. No shortened form permitted.

Judge Of The Living And Dead

Approved rendering: जिंदयां ते मुर्दयां दा न्याय करने आळा
Transliteration: jindeyan te murdeyan da nyay karne aala
Doctrine: Christ’s Judgment of the Living and the Dead
Rejected alternatives: any construction evoking Yama/Chitragupta’s post-mortem karmic court, never use

Duplicate-key safeguard entry for 4:1; see judge_living_and_dead above (kept identical to avoid any drift between the two entry names).

Last Days

Approved rendering: आखरी दिन
Transliteration: aakhri din
Doctrine: Apostasy and False Teachers in the Last Days
Rejected alternatives: any phrasing suggesting a repeating cyclical age (never allow assimilation to Kali Yuga cosmology)
Original: ἐσχάταις ἡμέραις
Category: Eschatology

NEW for 2 Timothy (3:1). HIGHEST-RANKED risk in the whole letter: the vice-catalogue that follows (3:2-5) closely resembles popular Kali Yuga descriptions within cyclical four-yuga Hindu cosmology. Must be taught as linear, historical, one-time eschatology, never a cyclical decline-and-renewal framework.

Godliness

Approved rendering: परमेश्वर दे अनुसार जीवन
Transliteration: Parmeshwar de anusar jeevan
Doctrine: True and False Godliness
Rejected alternatives: भक्ति (bhakti; the central term of North Indian devotionalism practiced at Raghunath Mandir and Vaishno Devi; never use as primary rendering)
Original: εὐσέβεια / μόρφωσις εὐσεβείας
Category: Apostasy

NEW for 2 Timothy (3:5, 3:12). NEVER भक्ति — would either sound like generic transferable deity-devotion or read as an inflammatory critique of Hindu bhakti practice itself, which is not Paul’s point.

Repentance

Approved rendering: मन फिराना
Transliteration: man phirana
Doctrine: Repentance and Restoration of the Erring
Rejected alternatives: प्रायश्चित-type ritual/ascetic penance vocabulary (prāyaścitta, never use), पछतावा alone (mere regret/remorse without a change of direction, insufficient alone)
Original: μετάνοια
Category: Salvation

NEW for 2 Timothy (2:25). Entirely absent from the baseline Romans package; a fresh coinage combining change-of-mind with restoration to truth.

Righteous Judge

Approved rendering: धरमी न्यायी
Transliteration: dharmi nyayi
Doctrine: Assurance of Reward
Rejected alternatives: any construction evoking Yama/Chitragupta, never use
Original: ὁ δίκαιος κριτής
Category: Eschatology

NEW for 2 Timothy (4:8). Built on धरमीपन and the judgment vocabulary of 4:1; must retain the connection between righteous character and just verdict, not an arbitrary or karmic ruling.

High Risk Terms

Gospel

Approved rendering: खरी खबर
Transliteration: khari khabar
Doctrine: Gospel
Rejected alternatives: सुसमाचार (Hindi Christian loanword; avoid as the default rendering)
Original: εὐαγγέλιον
Category: Salvation

Inherited from Romans package; reuse exactly. In 2 Timothy the gospel is the fixed apostolic message Timothy must guard (1:8), be unashamed of (1:8), and proclaim as the work of an evangelist (4:5).

Faith

Approved rendering: भरोसा
Transliteration: bharosa
Doctrine: Faith
Rejected alternatives: श्रद्धा (generalized devotional reverence, too broad)
Original: πίστις
Category: Faith

Inherited from Romans package; reuse exactly. In 2 Timothy, faith is a multi-generational inheritance (1:5, Lois/Eunice) and the content Timothy was ‘assured of’ (3:14). Object must remain Christ Jesus, never generalized shraddha.

Assured Firmly Convinced

Approved rendering: भरोसे कन्नै निश्चा होना
Transliteration: bharose kannai nishcha hona
Doctrine: Faith
Rejected alternatives: सिर्फ जाणकारी होना (mere information, loses the trust-grounded conviction sense)
Original: πιστόω (ἐπιστώθης)
Category: Faith

NEW for 2 Timothy (3:14, ἐπιστώθης). Must visibly share the भरोसा root, as the Greek shares the πίστις root, so learning and settled trust remain linked.

Called Calling

Approved rendering: सद्देआ होया / सद्द
Transliteration: saddea hoya / sadd
Doctrine: Divine Calling

Original: τὴν βασιλείαν αὐτοῦ τὴν ἐπουράνιον

Complete Sufficient

Approved rendering: पूरा ते तैयार

Solemn Charge

Approved rendering: गवाह रखियै हुकम देना
Transliteration: gavah rakhiyai hukam dena

Rejected alternatives: अवतार (never use; forbidden already for Incarnation in the baseline, and equally forbidden here)
Original: ἐπιφάνεια
Category: Eschatology

NEW for 2 Timothy (1:10, 4:1, 4:8). Must be clearly distinguished from a deity’s repeatable avatar-descent or temple-darshan appearance; this is Christ’s singular, climactic manifestation(s), not an inaugurated or invisible event (guard against Jehovah’s Witness 1914-parousia-adjacent framing).

Faithful Trustworthy

Approved rendering: भरोसे-जोग्ग
Transliteration: bharose-jogg
Doctrine: Faithful Transmission of the Gospel
Original: πιστός
Category: Church

NEW for 2 Timothy (2:2, 2:11, 2:13). Built on baseline भरोसा; used of both people and God’s own character. Must not be read as a Dogra Rajput lineage-honor category.

Transliteration: dharmipan da mukat
Doctrine: Assurance of Reward
Original: ὁ τῆς δικαιοσύνης στέφανος
Category: Eschatology

NEW for 2 Timothy (4:8). CULTURAL COLLISION FLAG: crown/mukat imagery is associated with deity-ornamentation (temple deities ceremonially crowned at Vaishno Devi and Raghunath Mandir) and Dogra dynastic regalia. Built on the locked धरमीपन; must always be contextually anchored to Christ’s eschatological gift, never a devotional idol-adornment or dynastic honor. Also guard against prosperity-gospel/Word-of-Faith paraphrase framing as a present-life material reward.

Ashamed

Approved rendering: शर्म करना / लजाना
Transliteration: sharam karna / lajana
Doctrine: Honor, Shame, and Christian Witness
Original: ἐπαισχύνομαι
Category: Ethics

NEW for 2 Timothy (1:8, 1:12, 1:16). Directly engages Dogra Rajput izzat culture; public non-shame regarding the gospel/a socially disgraced apostle is a genuine honor-cost confession, not a minor phrase.
