Doctrine Analysis
Doctrine Analysis — Gospel of John (English → Dogri)
Purpose
This document provides the full doctrine matrix for the Gospel of John curriculum, covering every chapter from John 1 to John 21, anchored theologically in the core passage John 3:1-21. It is organized in two parts:
- Part 1 walks chapter-by-chapter through the entire book, confirming every chapter’s doctrinal contribution has been reviewed (per PRD Phase 1’s full-book-coverage mandate — no chapter is silently omitted, even where a chapter’s contribution is narrative-supporting rather than term-introducing).
- Part 2 presents the master doctrine risk matrix, one row per doctrine, matching
doctrine_risk_registry.jsonexactly in doctrine set, risk tier, and review routing, while adding book-wide supporting passages and a translation-risk rationale for each.
All risk tiers below are identical to doctrine_risk_registry.json version 1 (generated 2026-07-10). This document does not introduce, remove, or re-tier any doctrine; it extends the registry with full-book narrative traceability.
Part 1 — Chapter-by-Chapter Doctrinal Coverage
Each chapter entry lists: doctrines active in that chapter (by registry key and tier), the specific verses carrying them, and a brief note. Every chapter of John contributes theologically load-bearing content; none is doctrine-free, consistent with John’s density as the most theologically explicit of the four Gospels.
John 1 (Prologue; John the Baptist’s witness; first disciples)
deity_and_preexistence_of_christ[Critical] — 1:1-3, 1:18incarnation[Critical] — 1:14sonship_of_christ[Critical] — 1:34, 1:49messianic_promise[Critical] — 1:20, 1:25, 1:41son_of_man_title[Critical] — 1:51lamb_of_god_atonement[Critical] — 1:29, 1:36adoption_and_children_of_god[High] — 1:12-13light_and_darkness[High] — 1:4-9glory_and_glorification[High] — 1:14fulfillment_of_prophecy_in_john[High] — 1:29, 1:45witness_and_testimony[Medium] — 1:7-8, 1:15, 1:19-34- Note: The single densest chapter of doctrinal concentration outside chapter 3; establishes nearly every Christological category the rest of the book will develop.
John 2 (Cana wedding; temple cleansing)
glory_and_glorification[High] — 2:11temple_of_his_body[High] — 2:19-21passover_typology[Low] — 2:13, 2:23- Note: First “sign” (σημεῖον) establishes the sign-glory-belief pattern that structures chs. 2-11.
John 3 (Nicodemus; John the Baptist’s final witness) — CORE PASSAGE (3:1-21)
new_birth_and_regeneration[Critical] — 3:1-8kingdom_of_god[Medium] — 3:3, 3:5eternal_life_through_faith[Critical] — 3:15-16, 3:36gods_love_for_the_world[Critical] — 3:16judgment_and_belief_unbelief[High] — 3:17-19light_and_darkness[High] — 3:19-21wrath_of_god[High] — 3:36son_of_man_title[Critical] — 3:13-14sonship_of_christ[Critical] — 3:16-18truth_as_embodied_reality[High] — 3:21mission_and_sending[Medium] — 3:17, 3:34witness_and_testimony[Medium] — 3:26-33- Note: The theological anchor of the whole curriculum. Every Critical-tier doctrine cluster in this chapter (new birth, eternal life, God’s love, Sonship, Son of Man) carries at least one direct, high-salience collision with regional religious categories documented in the registry (punarjanma/rebirth, mannat vow-economy, avatara doctrine). This chapter alone requires the heaviest concentration of mandatory theologian review and translator notes in the entire curriculum.
John 4 (Samaritan woman; healing of official’s son)
worship_in_spirit_and_truth[High] — 4:20-24messianic_promise[Critical] — 4:25-29mission_and_sending[Medium] — 4:35-38witness_and_testimony[Medium] — 4:39- Note: Jesus’s Jerusalem-versus-Samaria worship discussion directly parallels the Duggar region’s own multi-shrine devotional landscape (Raghunath Mandir / Bahu Fort / Vaishno Devi); “neither this mountain nor Jerusalem” requires careful handling to avoid sounding dismissive of place-based devotion rather than redirective toward the Spirit.
John 5 (Healing at Bethesda pool; the Son’s authority)
sonship_of_christ[Critical] — 5:18-23unity_of_father_and_son[Critical] — 5:18-23deity_and_preexistence_of_christ[Critical] — 5:21son_of_man_title[Critical] — 5:27judgment_and_belief_unbelief[High] — 5:24, 5:29resurrection_of_the_dead_general[High] — 5:28-29witness_and_testimony[Medium] — 5:31-39- Note: First explicit “I and the Father” authority claim in the book (via the Son’s shared prerogative to give life and judge); sets up ch. 10 and ch. 14’s fuller unity statements.
John 6 (Feeding the five thousand; Bread of Life discourse)
bread_of_life_and_lords_supper_imagery[Critical] — 6:32-58seven_i_am_statements[Critical] — 6:35, 6:48eternal_life_through_faith[Critical] — 6:27, 6:40, 6:47, 6:54son_of_man_title[Critical] — 6:27, 6:53, 6:62judgment_and_belief_unbelief[High] — 6:60-66 (disciples’ unbelief and departure)- Note: The eat-my-flesh/drink-my-blood language carries the single highest prasad-collision risk in the book (see registry); 6:63 (“the words I have spoken to you are spirit”) is the necessary interpretive anchor.
John 7 (Feast of Tabernacles teaching)
messianic_promise[Critical] — 7:26-42fulfillment_of_prophecy_in_john[High] — 7:38, 7:42holy_spirit_as_counselor[Critical] — 7:39 (proleptic: Spirit not yet given)witness_and_testimony[Medium] — 7:14-18- Note: Establishes messianic-lineage debate (Bethlehem/Galilee) that resonates with, but must not be reduced to, the region’s own lineage-honor (izzat) categories.
John 8 (Light of the World; absolute “I am” sayings; dispute with Pharisees)
seven_i_am_statements[Critical] — 8:12the_absolute_i_am[Critical] — 8:24, 8:28, 8:58 — highest-priority risk item in the curriculumdeity_and_preexistence_of_christ[Critical] — 8:58light_and_darkness[High] — 8:12sin_and_bondage[High] — 8:21-46truth_as_embodied_reality[High] — 8:32, 8:44witness_and_testimony[Medium] — 8:13-18- Note: 8:58 (“before Abraham was, I am”) is the single most theologically loaded verse in the book for the Advaita/Kashmir Shaivite collision documented in the registry; requires mandatory theologian review with an anti-Advaitic teaching note on every occurrence.
John 9 (Man born blind)
suffering_and_gods_sovereign_purposes[High] — 9:1-3sin_and_bondage[High] — 9:41light_and_darkness[High] — 9:5judgment_and_belief_unbelief[High] — 9:39worship_in_spirit_and_truth[High] — 9:38- Note: 9:1-3 is the book’s most direct, explicit rejection of a karma-style sin-causes-suffering framework; requires a mandatory translator/teaching note contrasting this with the region’s dominant popular explanatory model for congenital suffering.
John 10 (Good Shepherd; “I and the Father are one”)
seven_i_am_statements[Critical] — 10:9, 10:11, 10:14good_shepherd_and_sacrificial_love[High] — 10:11-18unity_of_father_and_son[Critical] — 10:30, 10:38sonship_of_christ[Critical] — 10:36- Note: 10:30 is a cross-document consistency-locked verse (per the core glossary); the most concentrated single-verse unity-of-Godhead claim in the book.
John 11 (Raising of Lazarus)
seven_i_am_statements[Critical] — 11:25resurrection_of_the_dead_general[High] — 11:24sonship_of_christ[Critical] — 11:27humanity_of_christ[High] — 11:35 (Jesus wept)glory_and_glorification[High] — 11:4, 11:40adoption_and_children_of_god[High] — 11:52- Note: The Lazarus sign is the last and greatest of the seven signs, directly anticipating Christ’s own resurrection (ch. 20); 11:35’s real human grief is a load-bearing anti-docetic detail.
John 12 (Anointing at Bethany; triumphal entry; Greeks seek Jesus; Jesus predicts his death)
fulfillment_of_prophecy_in_john[High] — 12:14-15, 12:38-41christs_substitutionary_death_and_resurrection[Critical] — 12:23-24, 12:32-34 (lifted up; grain of wheat)son_of_man_title[Critical] — 12:23, 12:34glory_and_glorification[High] — 12:23, 12:28, 12:41light_and_darkness[High] — 12:35-46judgment_and_belief_unbelief[High] — 12:31, 12:47-48passover_typology[Low] — 12:1- Note: The “lifted up” motif reaches its fullest statement here, uniting crucifixion and exaltation as a single event — a deliberately paradoxical claim with no ready regional analogue.
John 13 (Foot washing; new commandment; betrayal predicted)
discipleship_and_love_command[Medium] — 13:1-17, 13:34-35glory_and_glorification[High] — 13:31-32the_absolute_i_am[Critical] — 13:19passover_typology[Low] — 13:1- Note: The foot-washing scene’s deliberate status-inversion is directly and sensitively relevant to Dogra Rajput izzat (honor-rank) culture; flagged for native speaker review per the AI Translation Requirements’ honor/shame escalation rule.
John 14 (The Way, the Truth, and the Life; the Counselor promised; the Father seen in the Son)
seven_i_am_statements[Critical] — 14:6holy_spirit_as_counselor[Critical] — 14:16-26unity_of_father_and_son[Critical] — 14:9-11truth_as_embodied_reality[High] — 14:6, 14:17- Note: 14:6 is a cross-document consistency-locked verse; its exclusivity claim (“no one comes to the Father except through me”) is the sharpest single collision point with the region’s pluralistic multi-shrine, multi-marg devotional landscape.
John 15 (The True Vine; the love command; the Spirit of truth foretold)
seven_i_am_statements[Critical] — 15:1, 15:5abiding_and_fruitfulness[High] — 15:1-17good_shepherd_and_sacrificial_love[High] — 15:13holy_spirit_as_counselor[Critical] — 15:26discipleship_and_love_command[Medium] — 15:12-17sin_and_bondage[High] — 15:22-24- Note: फल (fruit) here is the sharpest single-word collision with karma-phal (“fruit of one’s deeds”) popular theology in the whole book; requires a mandatory teaching note distinguishing Spirit-enabled organic fruitfulness from self-earned karmic merit.
John 16 (The Spirit’s ongoing work; sorrow turned to joy)
holy_spirit_as_counselor[Critical] — 16:7-15judgment_and_belief_unbelief[High] — 16:8, 16:11sin_and_bondage[High] — 16:8-9- Note: Completes the Paraclete teaching begun in ch. 14; 16:8’s “convict” (ἐλέγχω) is cross-referenced structurally back to 3:20’s “exposed.”
John 17 (The High Priestly Prayer)
unity_of_father_and_son[Critical] — 17:11, 17:21-22glory_and_glorification[High] — 17:1-24eternal_life_through_faith[Critical] — 17:2-3 (definitional statement)deity_and_preexistence_of_christ[Critical] — 17:5, 17:24 (pre-existent glory)mission_and_sending[Medium] — 17:18- Note: 17:3’s definition of eternal life as personally knowing God is the single most important guard-rail verse against a duration-only or dissolution-into-Brahman misreading of eternal life anywhere in the book.
John 18 (Betrayal, arrest, and trial before Pilate)
the_absolute_i_am[Critical] — 18:5-8kingdom_of_god[Medium] — 18:36truth_as_embodied_reality[High] — 18:37-38passover_typology[Low] — 18:28, 18:39- Note: “My kingdom is not of this world” (18:36) is the key text distinguishing God’s reign from any political/dynastic “raj,” including the region’s own recently-ended Dogra princely-state history.
John 19 (Crucifixion)
christs_substitutionary_death_and_resurrection[Critical] — 19:30, 19:34humanity_of_christ[High] — 19:28, 19:34fulfillment_of_prophecy_in_john[High] — 19:24, 19:36-37sin_and_bondage[High] — 19:11passover_typology[Low] — 19:14- Note: 19:30’s “it is finished” and 19:34’s blood-and-water detail are both cross-document consistency-locked or near-locked content; the anti-docetic force of 19:34 is essential and must not be softened or allegorized.
John 20 (Resurrection appearances)
christs_substitutionary_death_and_resurrection[Critical] — 20:1-29holy_spirit_as_counselor[Critical] — 20:22adoption_and_children_of_god[High] — 20:17sin_and_bondage[High] — 20:23mission_and_sending[Medium] — 20:21eternal_life_through_faith/messianic_promise[Critical] — 20:30-31 (purpose statement)- Note: 20:28 (“My Lord and my God”) and 20:30-31 (the Gospel’s thesis statement) are both cross-document consistency-locked; this chapter concentrates more distinct Critical-tier doctrines than any chapter except John 1 and John 3.
John 21 (Epilogue; restoration of Peter)
discipleship_and_love_command[Medium] — 21:15-22mission_and_sending[Medium] — 21:15-19witness_and_testimony[Medium] — 21:24- Note: Closes the witness/testimony motif that structures the whole Gospel (cf. 1:7-8, 19:35); no new Critical or High risk terms are introduced in this chapter — reviewed and confirmed as continuity/closure content only.
Part 2 — Master Doctrine Risk Matrix (Full Curriculum)

Part 3 — Core Passage Intensity Note (John 3:1-21)
John 3:1-21 is unusual even within this doctrinally dense Gospel in that it activates eleven of the thirty-five registry doctrines within twenty-one verses, nine of them Critical or High tier: new_birth_and_regeneration, kingdom_of_god, eternal_life_through_faith, gods_love_for_the_world, judgment_and_belief_unbelief, light_and_darkness, wrath_of_god, son_of_man_title, sonship_of_christ, truth_as_embodied_reality, mission_and_sending, and witness_and_testimony. This concentration confirms the core passage’s role as this curriculum’s theological anchor while the full chapter-by-chapter coverage in Part 1 above confirms scope extends across the entire book, not merely this anchor passage. No chapter of John was found to be doctrine-free; all 21 chapters are accounted for above.
Critical Risk Doctrines
Deity and Pre-existence of Christ (the Word)
Dogri name: मसीह (बचन) दा ईश्वरत्व ते सदा-होंद
Key terms: word, word_was_god, pre_existent_glory, descended_ascended, gives_life
Review routing: Human theologian
बचन must never be rendered शब्द, which would align Christ’s eternal, personal self-existence with Sabda-Brahman, the impersonal cosmic-sound-as-ultimate-reality concept prestigious in the Kashmir Shaivite/Vedantic tradition of the wider Sharada-script region adjoining Duggar territory. John’s Word is a personal, pre-existent divine Person who was ‘with God’ and ‘was God,’ not an impersonal metaphysical principle.
Incarnation
Dogri name: मानखे दा रूप लैना
Key terms: incarnation, flesh_natural_birth, blood_and_water, jesus_wept
Review routing: Human theologian
NEVER अवतार. Because Raghunath Mandir, one of the largest Rama temple complexes in North India, was built under direct Dogra royal patronage and remains central to Duggar devotional identity, avatar-theology is not a distant abstraction but a locally prestigious, everyday devotional category. John’s own anti-docetic details (real tears at 11:35, real blood and water at 19:34) must be preserved to guard against any ‘appeared human’ reading of Christ’s incarnation.
Sonship of Christ
Dogri name: मसीह दा पुत्तरपन
Key terms: son_of_god, only_son, my_father_your_father, honor_the_son
Review routing: Human theologian
Must be taught as eternal, unique, co-equal divine Sonship, sharply distinguished from believers’ derivative adoptive sonship (गोद लैने आह् पुत्तर बनाना) and from Rama’s status as one of Vishnu’s many recognized avatars, given Raghunath Mandir’s centrality to Dogra royal and popular devotion.
Messianic Promise
Dogri name: मसीह दा वादा
Key terms: messiah, king_of_israel_kingship, son_of_man
Review routing: Human theologian
Messiah is a specific Jewish Old Testament category fulfilled exclusively in Jesus, not one of several avatar-figures or locally venerated deities available for devotees to choose among according to need (e.g. Vaishno Devi for boons, Bahu Fort’s Kali for protection).
The Son of Man
Dogri name: मनुक्खा दे पुत्तर दा ओहदा
Key terms: son_of_man
Review routing: Human theologian
The title combines full humanity with divine authority to judge and give life (Daniel 7:13-14); flattening it to mean merely ‘a human being’ would erase its divine-authority claim, a risk heightened in a culture accustomed to hearing honorific human titles (Dogra Rajput lineage titles) without automatic divine content attached.
The Seven ‘I Am’ Statements
Dogri name: मैं आं दे सत्त बचन
Key terms: i_am_bread_of_life, i_am_light_of_world, i_am_door, i_am_good_shepherd, i_am_resurrection_and_life, i_am_way_truth_life, i_am_true_vine
Review routing: Human theologian
Each predicate statement makes an exclusive claim (the sole bread/light/door/shepherd/way/vine); must not be softened into ‘a’ bread/light/way among several, which would align these claims with the region’s pluralistic multi-marg, multi-shrine devotional culture (Raghunath Mandir, Bahu Fort, Vaishno Devi each serving different devotional needs).
The Absolute ‘I Am’ (Divine Self-Declaration)
Dogri name: मैं आं (बगैर विशेषण)
Key terms: i_am_absolute
Review routing: Human theologian
The single highest-priority Critical risk item in this whole curriculum. John’s absolute ego eimi echoes YHWH’s self-revelation in Exodus 3:14 and must be taught as Christ’s unique, exclusive self-declaration, never as resonance with the Advaita Vedanta/Kashmir Shaivite ‘aham brahmasmi’ (‘I am Brahman’) doctrine of universally achievable self-realization — a live and prestigious philosophical category in the wider Sharada-script cultural region adjoining Duggar territory, not a distant abstraction.
The New Birth and Regeneration by the Spirit
Dogri name: ऊप्पर थमां नवां जन्म ते आत्मा दुआरा नवां बणाना
Key terms: born_again, born_of_water_and_spirit, flesh_natural_birth, born_of_god
Review routing: Human theologian
MUST NEVER be rendered with or near पुनर्जन्म (reincarnation), already forbidden in the baseline for ‘resurrection.’ The Greek anothen’s double sense (‘from above’/‘again’) has no natural Dogri equivalent and drives Nicodemus’s own misunderstanding in the text; without a mandatory translator note explaining this wordplay loss, Dogri readers risk the same literalistic (mis)reading Nicodemus falls into, but toward a rebirth-cycle framework rather than away from it.
Eternal Life through Faith in Christ
Dogri name: मसीह उप्पर भरोसे राह्ें सदा दी जिन्दगी
Key terms: eternal_life, believe, perish
Review routing: Human theologian
Never मोक्ष (liberation/dissolution into Brahman, ending individual existence) and never मुक्ति (already forbidden in the baseline for salvation). John 17:3 defines eternal life relationally as personally knowing God through Christ — an ongoing personal relationship, not a duration-only concept and not a dissolving of individual identity into an impersonal absolute.
God’s Love for the World
Dogri name: दुनिया आस्तै परमेश्वर दा प्यार
Key terms: world, loved, only_son, gave
Review routing: Human theologian
दुनिया (world) must never be रendered संसार, which in regional Hindu usage denotes the cycle of worldly existence bound to rebirth and would badly distort ‘God loved the world’ from a real, definite object of God’s love into a metaphysical cycle. The gift of the only Son (इकलौता पुत्तर) must foreclose any ‘one avatar among several’ reading, given Rama-avatar devotion at Raghunath Mandir.
The Lamb of God and Substitutionary Atonement
Dogri name: परमेश्वरे दा भेडू ते बदले च होई मौत
Key terms: lamb_of_god, sin
Review routing: Human theologian
Must be sharply distinguished from Shakta blood-sacrifice offered by devotees to a deity to secure favor or protection, as practiced at the Bahu Fort Kali shrine. The Lamb of God is God’s own once-for-all sacrifice for humanity, not a repeatable propitiatory offering made by worshippers to appease an angry deity.
The Holy Spirit as Counselor
Dogri name: सहाई दे रूप च पवित्तर आत्मा
Key terms: counselor_paraclete, spirit_of_truth, convict_the_world, guide_into_truth, receive_the_holy_spirit, holy_spirit
Review routing: Human theologian
सहाई must always be paired with पवित्तर आत्मा so the personal, divine identity of the Counselor is unmistakable; never शक्ति, given the strong local Shakta association of divine feminine power with Vaishno Devi and the Bahu Fort Kali shrine. The Counselor is a personal divine Helper continuing Christ’s own presence, not an impersonal force or power available for petition.
Christ’s Substitutionary Death and Resurrection
Dogri name: मसीह दी बदले च होई मौत ते जी उठणा
Key terms: lifted_up, lay_down_his_life, grain_of_wheat_must_die, greater_love, it_is_finished, gave_up_his_spirit, blood_and_water, resurrection, my_lord_and_my_god
Review routing: Human theologian
‘It is finished’ (पूरा होई गेआ) must be taught as declaring Christ’s atoning work fully, sufficiently, and permanently accomplished — directly foreclosing the ongoing vow-and-offering logic of the Vaishno Devi mannat economy, in which favor must be repeatedly sought and renewed. Resurrection must reuse मुर्दघरा चा जिंदा होना exactly; never पुनर्जन्म.
Unity of the Father and the Son
Dogri name: पिता ते पुत्तर दी एकता
Key terms: i_and_father_are_one, honor_the_son, seen_me_seen_father, believers_unity, gives_life
Review routing: Human theologian
‘I and the Father are one’ (मैं ते पिता इक्क आं) must convey essential, ontological unity of nature, not merely agreement-in-purpose or moral harmony — a common weakening misreading that would reduce the claim to something achievable by any devoted follower and a deity, rather than a unique claim to the Godhead itself.
Bread of Life and Eating/Drinking Imagery
Dogri name: जिन्दगी दी रोटी ते देह-लौह् दा बचन
Key terms: i_am_bread_of_life
Review routing: Human theologian
The eat-my-flesh, drink-my-blood language must NOT be read through the lens of prasad (consecrated food offered to a deity and distributed back to devotees as blessing, prominent at Vaishno Devi and other regional shrines). This is a vivid metaphor, clarified by John 6:63 (‘the words I have spoken to you are spirit’), for personal appropriation of Christ’s sacrificial death by faith, not a transactional consumption of blessed substance dispensed by a deity in exchange for devotion.
High Risk Doctrines
Judgment and Belief/Unbelief
Dogri name: न्याय ते भरोसा/अणभरोसा
Key terms: judgment, condemn, condemned_already, light, darkness, exposed_convicted, works_moral_deeds, truth, does_what_is_true
Review routing: Human theologian
Judgment must convey a personal, moral verdict issued by a personal God upon belief or unbelief, not an impersonal karmic consequence unfolding automatically from past deeds — the dominant popular explanatory framework in the region for both fortune and suffering.
Worship in Spirit and Truth
Dogri name: आत्मा ते सच्च कन्नै आराधना
Key terms: worship, truth
Review routing: Human theologian
Must avoid पूजा as the primary rendering, given its strong association with image/murti veneration and ritual offering at shrines such as Raghunath Mandir, Bahu Fort, or Vaishno Devi. Jesus’s own Jerusalem-versus-Samaria setting closely parallels the Duggar region’s multi-shrine devotional landscape; true worship is not tied to any physical location.
Humanity of Christ
Dogri name: मसीह दी मनुक्खता
Key terms: jesus_wept, blood_and_water, flesh_natural_birth
Review routing: Human theologian
John supplies deliberate anti-docetic detail (real tears, real troubled soul, real blood and water at death) that must be preserved intact; softening or allegorizing these would reopen the avatar-adjacent risk of Christ only ‘appearing’ human, as in periodic avatar-descent narratives associated with Raghunath Mandir’s Rama devotion.
Light and Darkness
Dogri name: चानण ते न्हेरा
Key terms: light, darkness
Review routing: Human theologian
चानण, not ज्योति, is required, since ज्योति carries a strong association with the ceremonial temple/aarti flame prominent at Raghunath Mandir and other regional shrines; using it here would conflate Christ’s revealing, saving light with ritual lamp-lighting devotion.
Truth as Embodied Reality in Christ
Dogri name: मसीह च साकार सच्च
Key terms: truth, does_what_is_true, spirit_of_truth
Review routing: Human theologian
Truth in John is never abstract; it is God’s self-consistent revelation embodied and enacted in Christ. Must not be flattened to mean merely ‘an accurate statement’ among many possible true statements offered by other teachers or traditions in the region’s pluralistic devotional landscape.
Adoption into God’s Family
Dogri name: परमेश्वर दे परिवार च गोद लैना
Key terms: adoption, born_of_god, my_father_your_father
Review routing: Human theologian
Must be kept sharply distinct from Christ’s own unique, natural Sonship, especially in the paired confession at 20:17 (‘my Father and your Father’); collapsing the two would either diminish Christ’s uniqueness or overstate believers’ status, and must also guard against a reduced-status reading given Dogra Rajput culture’s strong lineage-based honor (izzat) and legitimate-birthright expectations.
The Wrath of God
Dogri name: परमेश्वर दा कहर
Key terms: wrath_of_god
Review routing: Human theologian
Must be taught as God’s righteous, judicial opposition to unbelief, not a capricious or appeasable deity-wrath requiring ritual placation — directly distinct from the Shakta pattern of propitiating an angry deity such as Kali at the Bahu Fort shrine through offerings.
Sin and Bondage
Dogri name: पाप ते गुलामी
Key terms: sin, freedom_from_sin, suffering_without_reference_to_sin, devil, ruler_of_this_world
Review routing: Human theologian
John 9:1-3 explicitly and directly rejects a karma-style sin-causes-suffering explanatory framework, the dominant popular explanation for congenital disability and suffering in the region; freedom from sin’s bondage (8:32-36) must never be rendered मुक्ति, already forbidden in the baseline for liberation from the rebirth cycle.
The Good Shepherd and Sacrificial Love
Dogri name: अच्छा अयाल्ला ते बलिदानी प्यार
Key terms: i_am_good_shepherd, lay_down_his_life, greater_love
Review routing: Human theologian
Christ’s death for the sheep is voluntary and chosen, the definition of the greatest possible love; must not be diluted into generic self-sacrifice detached from its unique, once-for-all substitutionary character.
Abiding in Christ and Spiritual Fruitfulness
Dogri name: मसीह च टिकना ते फल दिणा
Key terms: i_am_true_vine, abide, fruit
Review routing: Human theologian
‘Apart from me you can do nothing’ (15:5) explicitly rules out self-generated spiritual achievement. फल (fruit) directly collides with the regional karma-phal (‘fruit of one’s deeds’) framework, in which phal denotes a self-earned result of one’s own action or merit; must be taught as Spirit-enabled organic outgrowth of union with Christ, not self-generated karmic merit.
Suffering and God’s Sovereign Purposes
Dogri name: दुख ते परमेश्वर दा मकसद
Key terms: suffering_without_reference_to_sin, works_moral_deeds
Review routing: Human theologian
Jesus’s answer (‘it was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed’) directly and explicitly rejects the dominant popular explanation in the region that suffering and congenital disability are caused by an individual’s or their family’s prior sin (a karma-adjacent explanatory framework); requires an explicit teaching note contrasting this with karma-based suffering explanations.
General Resurrection of the Dead
Dogri name: सारे मुर्दघरा चा जिंदा होना
Key terms: resurrection, judgment
Review routing: Human theologian
Must reuse मुर्दघरा चा जिंदा होना exactly, distinct from Christ’s own unique resurrection; both the resurrection to life and the resurrection to judgment must be taught as bodily and historical, never पुनर्जन्म (reincarnation).
Christ as the True Temple
Dogri name: मसीह दी देह सच्चा मंदर
Key terms: temple_of_his_body, church
Review routing: Human theologian
Extends the baseline’s कलीसिया-versus-मंदर distinction into Christ’s own person: God’s dwelling-place is no longer a building such as Raghunath Mandir or the Bahu Fort shrine, but Christ himself; मंदर is used here only in its literal, narrative sense referring to the Jerusalem building, and this restriction must be flagged so learners do not read it as endorsing temple-worship geography.
Glory and Glorification of Christ
Dogri name: मसीह दी महिमा
Key terms: glory, glorify, pre_existent_glory
Review routing: Human theologian
Avoid metaphors that could conflate Christ’s glory with the ceremonial splendor (aarti, temple lighting rites) associated with darshan at major Duggar temples like Raghunath Mandir; Christ’s glory is eternal and pre-creation, most fully displayed paradoxically at the cross (lifted_up), not acquired through ritual devotion or accumulated merit.
Fulfillment of Prophecy
Dogri name: भविष्यवाणी दा पूरा होना
Key terms: messiah, lamb_of_god, passover
Review routing: Human theologian
Linear, historical fulfillment (Old Testament promise realized exclusively in Jesus); not a cyclical cosmic pattern and not analogous to a vow-and-boon fulfillment cycle such as the Vaishno Devi mannat economy.
Medium Risk Doctrines
Witness and Testimony
Dogri name: गवाही दी लड़ी
Key terms: witness_testimony, sign
Review routing: Native speaker review
The Gospel’s structural argument for Christ’s identity is built entirely as a chain of witnesses; the forensic, first-hand-testimony sense must be retained consistently throughout, and signs must not be read as omens or fortune-telling.
Kingdom Mission
Dogri name: परमेश्वर दे राज्य दा कम्म
Key terms: kingdom_of_god, king_of_israel_kingship
Review routing: Native speaker review
God’s kingdom, entered only through new birth, must be distinguished from a political, territorial, or dynastic ‘raj,’ including the region’s own recently-ended Dogra princely-state history; Christ’s own statement ‘my kingdom is not of this world’ (18:36) directly supports this distinction.
Mission and Sending
Dogri name: भेजे जाने दा कम्म
Key terms: apostle, mission
Review routing: Native speaker review
Frame as Christ’s own sending pattern continued in the church’s ongoing calling; be sensitive to colonial-era mission-school associations historically carried by ‘mission’ language in the Jammu region.
Discipleship and the Love Command
Dogri name: चेलेपन ते प्यार दा हुकम
Key terms: new_commandment, foot_washing, follow_discipleship, loved
Review routing: Native speaker review
The foot-washing scene deliberately inverts expected status behavior and is directly relevant to Dogra Rajput izzat (honor-rank) sensitivities; the love command must be taught as the corporate identifying mark of discipleship, not a private sentiment.
Low Risk Doctrines
Passover Typology
Dogri name: फ़सह दी झलक
Key terms: passover, lamb_of_god
Review routing: Automated review
Establishes the narrative and typological backdrop for Christ’s death as the true Passover Lamb; low ambiguity risk beyond maintaining consistency with the Lamb of God doctrine above.
