Core Glossary
Core Glossary — Philippians (English–Greek–Dogri)
How to Use This Glossary
This glossary consolidates every load-bearing theological term identified in 07_semantic_analysis.md, drawn from the entire book of Philippians (chapters 1–4). Each entry records:
- English gloss
- Greek term (transliteration)
- Dogri rendering (transliteration)
- Risk tier (Critical / High / Medium / Low, per the baseline
doctrine_risk_registry.jsonframework) - Status — whether the term is Reused exactly from the Romans baseline
translation_memory.json, or New (introduced for this Philippians curriculum and pending addition to translation memory) - Doctrine (per this curriculum’s eight named doctrines, or “General”)
- Key alternatives rejected / notes
Enforcement rule: All terms marked Reused MUST be rendered exactly as recorded in the baseline translation_memory.json; no deviation is permitted. All terms marked New must be added to translation memory before Phase 2 segment translation begins, following the baseline’s “Translation Memory Load and Enforcement Instructions.”

Section B — New Terms Introduced for Philippians (require addition to translation memory)
| English gloss | Greek (translit.) | Dogri rendering (translit.) | Risk | Doctrine | Alternatives rejected / Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| form of God | μορφῇ θεοῦ (morphē theou) | परमेश्वर दा असली रूप (Parmeshwar da asli roop) | Critical | Incarnation/Kenosis (2:6) | NEVER अवतार. Essential, eternal divine nature — not a temporary descent. Consistent रूप root with baseline incarnation term. |
| a thing to be grasped/exploited | ἁρπαγμός (harpagmos) | ज़ोरे कन्नै फड़ी रक्खने आह् गल्ल (zore kannai fadi rakkhne aah gall) | Critical | Incarnation/Kenosis (2:6) | Must convey “did not exploit for advantage,” not “was not yet his to steal.” Guards against both under- and over-stating pre-incarnate deity. |
| emptied himself | ἑαυτὸν ἐκένωσεν (heauton ekenōsen) | आपणे आप्प खाली कीता (aapne aap khali kita) | Critical | Incarnation and Self-Emptying of Christ (Kenosis) — 2:7 | The doctrine’s namesake term. NEVER implies Christ ceased being divine or lost divine attributes; means voluntary self-limitation/assumption of servant-existence. |
| form of a servant/slave | μορφὴν δούλου (morphēn doulou) | दास दा रूप (das da roop) | High | Kenosis (2:7) | Full slave-status; never softened to “helper.” Collides directly with Dogra Rajput izzat/honor culture — intentionally so. |
| likeness of men | ὁμοίωμα ἀνθρώπων (homoiōma anthrōpōn) | मनुक्खां सांगी रूप (manukkhan sangi roop) | High | Kenosis; Humanity of Christ (2:7) | Must affirm genuine, not illusory/māyā-style, humanity. |
| pre-existing (being) | ὑπάρχων (hyparchōn) | पैह्लें थमां ही होणा (paihlen thamah hi hona) | High | Kenosis (2:6) | Eternal pre-existence, not a status attained. |
| equal with God | ἴσα θεῷ (isa theō) | परमेश्वर सारगा बराबर (Parmeshwar sarga barabar) | Critical | Deity of Christ (2:6) | Full ontological equality, not graded/relative divinity. |
| outward fashion/appearance | σχῆμα (schēma) | बाहरी दिखणा (bahri dikhna) | Medium | Kenosis; Humanity of Christ (2:7-8) | Distinct from μορφή; guard against docetic “mere appearance” misreading. |
| humbled himself / humility | ταπεινοφροσύνη / ἐταπείνωσεν (tapeinophrosynē / etapeinōsen) | नमरता / आपणे आप्प गी नमर कीता (namrata / aapne aap nu namar kita) | High | Unity and Humility in the Church (2:3, 2:8) | Direct collision with izzat/honor-lineage culture; must be taught as voluntary, Christlike self-giving from strength, not imposed degradation or ritual self-abasement before a deity. |
| selfish ambition | ἐριθεία (eritheia) | खुद-गरजी (khud-garzi) | Medium | Unity and Humility (2:3; 1:17) | — |
| empty conceit/vainglory | κενοδοξία (kenodoxia) | खाली हऊमे (khali haume) | Medium-High | Unity and Humility (2:3) | Note deliberate wordplay with κενόω (2:7). Caution: हऊमे carries Sikh theological resonance (ego); do not let it import Sikh ego-dissolution-through-meditation as the implied solution — solution here is Christlike humility, not meditative technique. |
| esteem/regard as greater | ὑπερέχω (hyperechō) | बड्डा समझणा (badda samajhna) | Medium | Unity and Humility (2:3); also 4:7 | Same root recurs at “peace which surpasses” (4:7); keep morphological link visible where feasible. |
| mindset/settled disposition | φρονέω (phroneō) | सोच रक्खणा (soch rakkhna) | Medium | Unity and Humility (2:2, 2:5); Pressing on (3:15, 3:19); general (4:2, 4:10) | Render identically at every occurrence (10x in Philippians) to preserve the literary thread. |
| joy / rejoice | χαρά / χαίρω (chara / chairō) | खुशी (khushi) | High | Joy in Suffering and Imprisonment (1:4, 1:18, 2:2, 4:4, etc.) | Must be distinguished from mannat-fulfillment happiness (a wish granted through a shrine vow); joy is gospel-grounded and circumstance-independent. |
| bonds/chains/imprisonment | δεσμός (desmos) | कैद / जंजीरां (qaid / janjiran) | High | Joy in Suffering and Imprisonment (1:7, 1:13-14, 1:17) | Reframed as gospel-advancing, not shameful — direct challenge to izzat-honor instincts around imprisonment. |
| granted (suffering as gift) | ἐχαρίσατο / ἐχαρίσθη (echarisato / echaristhē) | बिना कमाई दित्ती दया कन्नै दित्ता गेआ (bina kamai ditti daya kannai ditta gea) | Critical | Joy in Suffering and Imprisonment (1:29); Kenosis (2:9) | Suffering-for-Christ framed as grace-gift, not karma/misfortune/mannat-cost. New extension of baseline grace guardrail. |
| servant/slave (self-designation) | δοῦλος (doulos) | दास (das) | High | General; Kenosis (1:1; 2:7) | Full slave-status; izzat-honor collision intentional and instructive. |
| overseer/bishop | ἐπίσκοπος (episkopos) | कलीसिया दे निगरान (kalisiya de nigran) | Medium | Church polity (1:1) | Confirm against BSI Dogri Bible for a possibly settled term. |

| citizenship / conduct as citizens | πολιτεύεσθε / πολίτευμα (politeuesthe / politeuma) | नागरिकतां सारगी ज़िन्दगी / साढ़ी नागरिकता (nagriktan sargi zindagi / sadhi nagrikta) | Critical | Citizenship in Heaven (1:27; 3:20) | नागरिकता risks a secular-nationality reading (Medium); combined with स्वर्ग (below) elevates to Critical. |
| heaven | οὐρανός (root, implied in πολίτευμα, 3:20) | स्वर्ग (swarg) | Critical — new guardrail, not in Romans baseline | Citizenship in Heaven (3:20) | Must be distinguished explicitly from popular Hindu cosmology’s temporary svarga (a heavenly reward within the rebirth cycle) and from any single deity’s particular heavenly domain (Vishnu/Raghunath Mandir, Vaishno Devi). Recommend adding to Language Package forbidden-substitution guardrails alongside मुक्ति and पुनर्जन्म. |
| Savior | σωτήρ (sōtēr) | उद्धारकर्ता (uddharkarta) | Critical | Citizenship in Heaven (3:20) | Reuses उद्धार root; not one savior-figure among several. |
| transform (resurrection body) | μετασχηματίζω (metaschēmatizō) | रूप बदलेगा (roop badalega) | Critical | Citizenship in Heaven; Pressing on (3:21) | Same guardrail as baseline resurrection: one-time bodily transformation, NEVER पुनर्जन्म/reincarnation language. |
| conformed to (his death/glory) | σύμμορφος (symmorphos) | सांगी रूप बणना (sangi roop banna) | High | Pressing on toward the Goal (3:10, 3:21) | Progressive, Spirit-wrought — not self-effort or cyclical rebirth. |
| rubbish/dung | σκύβαλα (skybala) | कचरा (kachra) | Medium | Righteousness by Faith vs. Law (3:8) | Register risk: retain rhetorical force without crossing into vulgarity; flag for native-speaker confirmation. |
| circumcision | περιτομή (peritomē) | खतना (khatna) | Low | Righteousness by Faith vs. Law (3:5) | OT identity marker; not a local rite of passage. |
| fellowship of his sufferings | κοινωνία παθημάτων (koinōnia pathēmatōn) | मसीह दे दुखां च साझ (Masih de dukhan ch saajh) | High | Joy in Suffering; Pressing on (3:10) | Distinguish from karma-based suffering explanatory framework. |
| pressing on / prize / goal | διώκω / βραβεῖον / σκοπός (diōkō / brabeion / skopos) | पिच्छा करना / ईनाम / निशाना (piccha karna / inaam / nishana) | Medium-High | Pressing on toward the Goal (3:12-14) | ईनाम (prize) must stay subordinate to the grace guardrail — not a merit earned by pursuit. |
| mature/perfect | τέλειος (teleios) | पूरे तरीके कन्नै सयाणे (poore tarike kannai sayane) | High | Pressing on toward the Goal (3:15) | NEVER सिद्ध (siddha) — avoids yogic/tantric “perfected being with supernatural powers” association. |
| anxious/worry | μεριμνάω (merimnaō) | फिकर करना (fikar karna) | Low | Contentment (4:6) | — |
| peace surpassing understanding | ὑπερέχουσα (hyperechousa, root) | जेह्ी समझ थमां बड्डी ऐ (jehi samajh thamah vaddi ai) | Medium-High | Contentment (4:7) | Distinguish from meditative/yogic calm achieved by technique; this peace is given, not produced by the mind’s own discipline. |
| think on / consider | λογίζομαι (logizomai) | सोचदे रओ / गिनती च रक्खणा (sochde rao / ginti ch rakkhna) | Low-Medium | Contentment (4:8) | Etymological link to imputed-righteousness “reckoning” root — no independent doctrinal risk here. |
| learned the secret (initiation) | μεμύημαι (memyēmai) | मैं सीख लिया है (main sikh liya hai) | Critical | Contentment in All Circumstances (4:12) | NEVER दीक्षा (guru-initiation into esoteric knowledge). Contentment is lived Christ-dependent experience, not ritual/esoteric transmission. |
| content/self-sufficient | αὐτάρκης (autarkēs) | संतोख (santokh) | Critical — new guardrail, not in Romans baseline | Contentment in All Circumstances (4:11) | Must be explicitly distinguished from Sikh santokh as self-cultivated inner detachment/equanimity and from Hindu vairagya (renunciation); Pauline contentment is Christ-empowered (4:13), not self-achieved. Recommend adding as a standing Language Package guardrail. |
| strengthens me | ἐνδυναμοῦντι (endynamounti) | सामर्थ दिन्दा ऐ (samarth dinda ai) | High | Contentment (4:13) | Reuses सामर्थ root; never शक्ति. The Christ-dependence that answers the autarkēs risk directly. |
| giving and receiving | δόσις καὶ λῆμψις (dosis kai lēmpsis) | दिन्ना ते लैना (dinna te laina) | Low-Medium | Partnership in the Gospel (4:15) | Commercial/accounting metaphor for mutual gospel partnership. |
| acceptable sacrifice / sweet aroma | ὀσμὴ εὐωδίας / θυσία δεκτή (osmē euōdias / thysia dektē) | सुगन्ध सारगी, प्रवान होई गेई बलिदान (sugandh sarga, parvan hoi gei balidan) | High | Partnership in the Gospel (4:18) | OT sacrificial imagery at risk of being reheard as puja-offering logic; must rest explicitly on Christ’s finished sacrifice, not repeatable ritual merit. |
| poured out (as a libation) | σπένδομαι (spendomai) | डोल्हे गेदे चढ़ावे सारगा वग्गाया जाना (dolhe gede chadhave sarga vaggaya jana) | High | Joy in Suffering (2:17) | Same sacrificial-offering caution as above. |
| sacrifice and service | θυσία καὶ λειτουργία (thysia kai leitourgia) | बलिदान ते सेवा (balidan te seva) | Medium-High | Joy in Suffering (2:17) | बलिदान also describes the regionally venerated Baba Jitto folk-martyrdom; distinguish clearly from Christ’s unique atoning death. |
| working God / God at work | ὁ ἐνεργῶν (ho energōn) | परमेश्वर जेह्ड़ा अंदर कम्म करदा है (Parmeshwar jehda andar kamm karda hai) | High | Unity and Humility; Providence (2:13) | Never किस्मत; personal purposive activity. |
| work out (your salvation) | κατεργάζεσθε (katergazesthe) | आपणे उद्धार गी अमली रूप देओ (apne uddhar nu amli roop deo) | Critical | General; ties to Salvation (2:12) | NEVER implies salvation earned by effort; outworking of a grace already given. |
| death of the cross | θανάτου… σταυροῦ (thanatou… staurou) | क्रूस पर मौत (kroos par maut) | Critical | Kenosis (2:8) | Retain full ancient scandal (slave/criminal’s death); do not equate with Baba Jitto’s honorable folk-martyrdom; preserve uniqueness of Christ’s atoning death. |
| obedient unto death | ὑπήκοος μέχρι θανάτου (hypēkoos mechri thanatou) | मरने तगर आज्ञा मन्नने आह् (marne tagar aagya mannne aah) | High | Kenosis (2:8) | Christ’s filial obedience to the Father — distinct from baseline obedience_of_faith (believer’s faith-produced obedience). |

| name above every name | τὸ ὄνομα τὸ ὑπὲρ πᾶν ὄνομα (to onoma to hyper pan onoma) | सारें नांऽ थमां उच्चा नां (saren nan thamah uccha nan) | Critical | Deity of Christ (2:9) | Refers to the divine Name/rank itself, not mere fame or title. |
| every knee shall bow | πᾶν γόνυ κάμψῃ (pan gony kampsē) | हर गोडा टेकेगा (har goda tekega) | High | Lordship of Christ (2:10) | Worship owed to Christ as God, not a boon-seeking devotional gesture. |
| confess (Jesus is Lord) | ἐξομολογήσηται (exomologēsētai) | मन्नेगी ते कहेगी (mannegi te kahegi) | High | Lordship of Christ (2:11) | Must match Romans 10:9-10 confessional wording exactly. |

Section C — Risk Summary for Philippians-Specific New Terms
| Risk Tier | Count of New Terms | Review Routing |
|---|---|---|
| Critical | 13 | Human theologian (mandatory, every occurrence) |
| High | 16 | Human theologian |
| Medium-High | 6 | Human theologian (recommended) |
| Medium | 8 | Native speaker review |
| Low-Medium | 5 | Native speaker review |
| Low | 6 | Automated review |
Three new guardrails are flagged for inclusion in the Philippians doctrine_risk_registry.json (Step 2) that have no Romans-baseline precedent:
- स्वर्ग (heaven) — must be distinguished from Hindu cosmological svarga (a temporary heavenly reward within the rebirth cycle) and from any single deity’s particular heavenly domain. Candidate for addition to the forbidden-substitution list.
- संतोख (contentment/autarkēs) — must be distinguished from Sikh santokh (self-cultivated detachment) and Hindu vairagya (renunciation); Pauline contentment is Christ-empowered, not self-achieved.
- दीक्षा (initiation) — forbidden for μεμύημαι (4:12); Paul’s “secret” of contentment is lived Christ-dependent experience, never guru-transmitted esoteric knowledge.
Additionally, the μορφή/δοῦλος/ταπεινοφροσύνη word family (2:6-8) requires coordinated, consistent रूप-root and नमरता-root rendering across the whole curriculum, since the core passage’s argument depends on the reader recognizing the same root recurring across “form of God,” “form of a servant,” and “he humbled himself.”
This glossary consolidates and cross-references 07_semantic_analysis.md. All Section A terms are locked exactly to the Romans baseline translation_memory.json. All Section B terms must be added to translation memory (with version increment) before Phase 2 segment translation of Philippians begins, per the baseline’s Translation Memory Load and Enforcement Instructions.
Critical Risk Terms
Grace
Approved rendering: बिना कमाई दित्ती दया
Transliteration: bina kamai ditti daya
Doctrine: Grace
Rejected alternatives: मन्नत दा फल (a boon granted in response to a vow, as sought at Vaishno Devi shrine; never use), पुण्य (merit earned through right action, never use)
Original: χάρις
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. Philippians extends the guardrail into new territory: suffering itself (1:29) and the Father’s bestowal of the exalted Name on the Son (2:9, χαρίζομαι) are both framed within this grace category — see suffering_granted_as_grace below. Never karma, never mannat-vow exchange.
Righteousness
Approved rendering: धरमीपन
Transliteration: dharmipan
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: धरम (avoid the bare sense of caste/social duty tied to Dogra Rajput lineage-honor expectations)
Original: δικαιοσύνη
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. Never धरम alone, especially at Philippians 3:4-9 where Paul explicitly rejects inherited pedigree as a ground of righteousness.
Imputed Righteousness
Approved rendering: गिनी गेई धरमीपन
Transliteration: gini gei dharmipan
Doctrine: Righteousness by Faith versus the Law
Rejected alternatives: कमाई गेई धरमीपन (earned righteousness, the explicit rejected opposite)
Original: δικαιοσύνην… διὰ πίστεως
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. Philippians 3:9 is this letter’s parallel to Romans’ central justification argument and must be rendered identically for cross-document doctrinal consistency.
Salvation
Approved rendering: उद्धार
Transliteration: uddhar
Doctrine: Salvation
Rejected alternatives: मुक्ति (liberation from the rebirth cycle, never use), मनोकामना पूरी होना (a wish/boon granted, as through a vow at Vaishno Devi, never use as a substitute for eternal salvation)
Original: σωτηρία
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. Never मुक्ति. Philippians 2:12’s ‘work out your salvation’ must never imply salvation earned by effort — see work_out_salvation below.
Lord
Approved rendering: प्रभु
Transliteration: prabhu
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: महाराजा (a title strongly associated with the historic Dogra royal dynasty, avoid as the primary term for Christ’s Lordship)
Original: κύριος
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package. Never महाराजा. Philippians 2:11’s confession must match the Romans 10:9 rendering exactly across the curriculum library.
Jesus
Approved rendering: यीशु
Transliteration: Yishu
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: ईसा (used in Muslim/Urdu-influenced contexts; reserve for interfaith-dialogue framing only)
Original: Ἰησοῦς
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package established transliteration.
Messiah
Approved rendering: मसीह
Transliteration: masih
Doctrine: Messianic Promise
Original: Χριστός
Category: Christology
Inherited from Romans package established transliteration. Used throughout Philippians as Christ’s proper title (1:1, 2:11, 3:8-9, etc.).
God
Approved rendering: परमेश्वर
Transliteration: Parmeshwar
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Rejected alternatives: भगवान (broad Hindu deity usage, avoid for doctrinal precision)
Original: θεός
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. Never भगवान, which in the Duggar context could evoke Rama, Kali, or the Vaishno Devi goddess specifically.
Holy Spirit
Approved rendering: पवित्तर आत्मा
Transliteration: pavittar aatma
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: शक्ति (goddess-power, e.g. as embodied at Vaishno Devi and Bahu Fort, never use), परमात्मा alone (Hindu universal Self, never use)
Original: πνεῦμα
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. Never शक्ति or bare परमात्मा. Philippians 2:1’s ‘fellowship of the Spirit’ builds directly on this term — see fellowship_of_the_spirit below.
Father
Approved rendering: पिता
Transliteration: pita
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Original: πατήρ
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. The telos of Christ’s exaltation and universal confession (Philippians 2:11) and the closing doxology (4:20).
Resurrection
Approved rendering: मुर्दघरा चा जिंदा होना
Transliteration: murdaghara cha jinda hona
Doctrine: Resurrection of Christ
Rejected alternatives: पुनर्जन्म (reincarnation, never use)
Original: ἀνάστασις
Category: Eschatology
Inherited from Romans package. Never पुनर्जन्म. Underlies Philippians 3:10-11 and 3:21 — see transform_resurrection_body and conformed_to below.
Form Of God
Approved rendering: परमेश्वर दा असली रूप
Transliteration: Parmeshwar da asli roop
Doctrine: Incarnation and Self-Emptying of Christ (Kenosis)
Rejected alternatives: अवतार (avatar-descent into one of many possible forms; NEVER — Raghunath Mandir’s Rama-avatar devotion is directly patronized by Dogra royalty and makes this the single highest-salience wrong category)
Original: μορφὴ θεοῦ
Category: Christology
New term for the Philippians curriculum, no direct Romans-baseline precedent though it reuses the रूप root already established there for incarnation. Christ’s essential, eternal, singular divine nature (2:6) — not a temporary descent into one of many possible forms.
Thing To Be Grasped
Approved rendering: ज़ोरे कन्नै फड़ी रक्खने आह् गल्ल
Transliteration: zore kannai fadi rakkhne aah gall
Doctrine: Incarnation and Self-Emptying of Christ (Kenosis)
Rejected alternatives: a thing not yet his to steal (implies Christ was not yet fully divine — heretical), any phrasing suggesting Christ temporarily lost divinity by not seizing it
Original: ἁρπαγμός
Category: Christology
New term, no Romans-baseline precedent (ἁρπαγμός, Philippians 2:6). Must convey ‘did not exploit an already-possessed status for advantage,’ not ‘was not yet his to steal.’ Mandatory translator note every occurrence.
Emptied Himself
Approved rendering: आपणे आप्प खाली कीता
Transliteration: aapne aap khali kita
Doctrine: Incarnation and Self-Emptying of Christ (Kenosis)
Rejected alternatives: any rendering implying Christ ceased being divine or lost divine attributes (‘gave up his god-ness’)
Original: ἑαυτὸν ἐκένωσεν
Category: Christology
New Critical term, the doctrine’s namesake (ἑαυτὸν ἐκένωσεν, Philippians 2:7), with no Romans-baseline precedent. Mandatory translator note: voluntary self-limitation and assumption of a servant’s existence, NOT subtraction of deity.
Equal With God
Approved rendering: परमेश्वर सारगा बराबर
Transliteration: Parmeshwar sarga barabar
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Rejected alternatives: a great being close to God (graded/relative divinity, familiar from avatar theology)
Original: ἴσα θεῷ
Category: Christology
New term (ἴσα θεῷ, Philippians 2:6). Full ontological equality with the Father, not a graded or relative divine status.
Death Of The Cross
Approved rendering: क्रूस पर मौत
Transliteration: kroos par maut
Doctrine: Humility of Christ
Rejected alternatives: framing that equates this with Baba Jitto’s honorable, locally venerated folk-martyrdom
Original: θανάτου… σταυροῦ
Category: Christology
New term (Philippians 2:8). Retains the full ancient scandal of a slave/criminal’s death, utterly without honor by human reckoning; never softened, never equated with local folk-martyrdom, preserving the uniqueness of Christ’s atoning death (cf. baseline salvation).
Name Above Every Name
Approved rendering: सारें नांऽ थमां उच्चा नां
Transliteration: saren nan thamah uccha nan
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Rejected alternatives: ‘Jesus became famous’ or ‘Jesus received a great title’ (loses the divine-Name background)
Original: τὸ ὄνομα τὸ ὑπὲρ πᾶν ὄνομα
Category: Christology
New term (Philippians 2:9). Refers to the unique divine rank/Name (κύριος standing for YHWH in Septuagint usage), not mere fame; requires Old Testament background teaching.
Savior
Approved rendering: उद्धारकर्ता
Transliteration: uddharkarta
Doctrine: Citizenship in Heaven
Rejected alternatives: one savior-figure among several regionally venerated deliverer-figures
Original: σωτήρ
Category: Citizenship
New term reusing the baseline उद्धार root (Philippians 3:20). Must not read as one deliverer among several.
Transform Resurrection Body
Approved rendering: रूप बदलेगा
Transliteration: roop badalega
Doctrine: Resurrection Hope
Rejected alternatives: पुनर्जन्म or any transmigration/successive-rebirth language
Original: μετασχηματίσει
Category: Eschatology
New term (μετασχηματίσει, Philippians 3:21) carrying the same guardrail as the baseline resurrection entry: a ONE-TIME transformation of the SAME body into permanent glorified form, never a series of rebirths into successive different bodies.
Suffering Granted As Grace
Approved rendering: बिना कमाई दित्ती दया कन्नै दित्ता गेआ
Transliteration: bina kamai ditti daya kannai ditta gea
Doctrine: Suffering for Christ as Grace-Gift
Rejected alternatives: karma-based suffering (retribution for past-life action), mannat-vow cost paid to secure future blessing
Original: ἐχαρίσθη
Category: Joy and Suffering
New term (χαρίζομαι/ἐχαρίσθη, Philippians 1:29), extending the baseline grace guardrail into genuinely new territory. Suffering for Christ’s sake is placed in the same grace-gift category as faith itself.
Citizenship
Approved rendering: नागरिकता
Transliteration: nagrikta
Doctrine: Citizenship in Heaven
Original: πολιτεύεσθε / τὸ πολίτευμα
Category: Citizenship
New term (πολιτεύεσθε/τὸ πολίτευμα, Philippians 1:27, 3:20), a genuinely new guardrail with no Romans-baseline precedent. Risks a merely secular/modern-nationality reading (especially salient given Dogri’s own recent 2003 Eighth Schedule inclusion); must be taught with the ‘homeland/commonwealth’ nuance, echoing Philippi’s own pride as a Roman colony.
Heaven
Approved rendering: स्वर्ग
Transliteration: swarg
Doctrine: Citizenship in Heaven
Rejected alternatives: popular Hindu cosmological svarga (a temporary heavenly reward within the ongoing rebirth cycle), one deity’s particular heavenly domain (Vishnu/Vaikuntha at Raghunath Mandir; the goddess at Vaishno Devi/Bahu Fort)
Original: οὐρανός
Category: Citizenship
New term (οὐρανός, implied in πολίτευμα, Philippians 3:20), a genuinely new guardrail with no Romans-baseline precedent. Must be taught as the believer’s permanent, eternal home entered once through resurrection, never a temporary plane within a rebirth cycle nor one deity’s domain among several. RECOMMENDED for formal addition to the Language Package’s forbidden-substitution guardrail list alongside मुक्ति and पुनर्जन्म.
Work Out Salvation
Approved rendering: आपणे उद्धार गी अमली रूप देओ
Transliteration: apne uddhar nu amli roop deo
Doctrine: Working Out Salvation
Rejected alternatives: any rendering implying salvation is earned by effort
Original: κατεργάζεσθε… τὴν… σωτηρίαν
Category: Salvation
New term (κατεργάζεσθε… τὴν… σωτηρίαν, Philippians 2:12-13). Must NEVER be read as salvation earned by effort — this is the reverent, lived outworking of a salvation already given by grace, not the vow-and-effort economy of mannat-fulfillment. Must always be taught paired with working_god (2:13) in the same teaching unit.
Content Self Sufficient
Approved rendering: संतोख
Transliteration: santokh
Doctrine: Contentment in All Circumstances
Rejected alternatives: Sikh Panj Guṇ santokh (self-cultivated inner detachment via Naam-meditation), Hindu vairagya (renunciation-based dispassion), prosperity-gospel material self-sufficiency
Original: αὐτάρκης
Category: Contentment
New term (αὐτάρκης, Philippians 4:11), a genuinely new guardrail with no Romans-baseline precedent. संतोख is a major, prestigious Sikh virtue (one of the Five Virtues) with related Hindu vairagya resonance. Must always be immediately paired with strengthens_me (4:13) so the term is never taught independent of Christ’s empowering. RECOMMENDED for addition to the Language Package’s standing guardrail list.
Learned The Secret
Approved rendering: मैं सीख लिया है
Transliteration: main sikh liya hai
Doctrine: Contentment in All Circumstances
Rejected alternatives: दीक्षा (guru-initiation into esoteric knowledge — NEVER; a live, prestigious category across North Indian guru movements, Hindu and Sikh Amrit Sanskar traditions, and Nath-yogi lineages)
Original: μεμύημαι
Category: Contentment
New term (μεμύημαι, Philippians 4:12). Deliberately flat, non-technical phrasing to avoid importing a ritual-initiation category; contentment is lived Christ-dependent experience open to every believer without ritual mediation, never guru-transmitted esoteric knowledge.
High Risk Terms
Gospel
Approved rendering: खरी खबर
Transliteration: khari khabar
Doctrine: Gospel
Rejected alternatives: सुसमाचार (a Hindi Christian loanword; avoid as the default rendering so this curriculum reads as Dogri, not Hindi with Devanagari spelling)
Original: εὐαγγέλιον
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. In Philippians the object of partnership (1:5, 1:7, 4:15), defense (1:7), and proclamation regardless of preachers’ mixed motives (1:12-18).
Faith
Approved rendering: भरोसा
Transliteration: bharosa
Doctrine: Faith
Rejected alternatives: श्रद्धा (generalized devotional reverence, too broad)
Original: πίστις
Category: Faith
Inherited from Romans package. Central to Philippians 3:9’s righteousness-by-faith-vs-law antithesis; the object of faith (Christ) must be explicit in context.
Glory
Approved rendering: महिमा
Transliteration: mahima
Doctrine: Deity of Christ
Original: δόξα
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. Avoid aarti/temple-lighting ceremonial-splendor metaphors, especially at Philippians 2:11 and the 4:19-20 doxology.
Calling
Approved rendering: सद्द
Transliteration: sadd
Doctrine: Effectual Calling
Original: κλῆσις
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. Philippians 3:14’s ‘upward calling’ (ऊप्परली सद्द) — never किस्मत, despite the surrounding athletic-contest imagery.
Saints
Approved rendering: पवित्तर लोक
Transliteration: pavittar lok
Doctrine: Sainthood
Rejected alternatives: साधु (an ascetic holy man, never use for the corporate sense)
Original: ἅγιοι
Category: Church
Inherited from Romans package. Philippians 1:1 addresses all believers at Philippi corporately; never साधु, which would wrongly narrow this into a special holy-man class.
Sanctification
Approved rendering: पवित्तरता
Transliteration: pavittarta
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: शुद्धिकरण (ritual purification rites, avoid as a substitute)
Inherited from Romans package. Philippians 1:9-11 and 2:14-16 general holiness exhortations use this baseline term unchanged; no new Philippians-specific nuance beyond the baseline.
Holy
Approved rendering: पवित्तर
Transliteration: pavittar
Doctrine: Sanctification
Rejected alternatives: शुद्ध (ritual purity, e.g. before temple worship, avoid as a substitute)
Inherited from Romans package. Underlies the ‘saints’ (पवित्तर लोक) address in Philippians 1:1 and holiness exhortations throughout the letter.
Power Of God
Approved rendering: परमेश्वर दी सामर्थ
Transliteration: Parmeshwar di samarth
Doctrine: Power of God for Salvation
Rejected alternatives: शक्ति (associated with goddess-power devotion, as at Bahu Fort’s Kali shrine and Vaishno Devi, avoid as the primary term)
Original: δύναμις
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. Never शक्ति. Philippians 4:13’s ἐνδυναμοῦντι (‘strengthens me’) reuses this root — see strengthens_me below.
Providence
Approved rendering: परमेश्वर दा प्रबन्ध
Transliteration: Parmeshwar da prabandh
Doctrine: Providence
Rejected alternatives: किस्मत (fate, never use)
Original: ὁ ἐνεργῶν
Category: God
Inherited from Romans package. Never किस्मत. Grounds Philippians 1:6 and 2:13 (ὁ ἐνεργῶν) — see working_god below.
Form Of A Servant
Approved rendering: दास दा रूप
Transliteration: das da roop
Doctrine: Servant Identity in Christ
Rejected alternatives: सेवक/helper (softens full slave-status), servant-leader (loses the rhetorical force of Paul’s point)
Original: μορφὴν δούλου
Category: Christology
New term (Philippians 2:7). Full slave-status (दास), deliberately retained despite izzat-honor collision — this is Paul’s exact rhetorical point, not a translation problem to be softened away.
Likeness Of Men
Approved rendering: मनुक्खां सांगी रूप
Transliteration: manukkhan sangi roop
Doctrine: Humanity of Christ
Rejected alternatives: māyā-style illusory/provisional appearance-form
Original: ὁμοίωμα ἀνθρώπων
Category: Christology
New term (Philippians 2:7). Must affirm genuine, real, permanent humanity, not an illusory appearance taken on temporarily.
Pre Existing
Approved rendering: पैह्लें थमां ही होणा
Transliteration: paihlen thamah hi hona
Doctrine: Pre-existence of Christ
Rejected alternatives: a divine status attained or descended into for this occasion
Original: ὑπάρχων
Category: Christology
New term (ὑπάρχων, Philippians 2:6). Eternal, antecedent existence ‘in the form of God,’ guarding against an avatar-descent reading.
Humility
Approved rendering: नमरता
Transliteration: namrata
Doctrine: Unity and Humility in the Church
Rejected alternatives: ritual self-abasement performed before a deity seeking favor (e.g. shrine darshan prostration)
Original: ταπεινοφροσύνη / ἐταπείνωσεν
Category: Unity and Humility
New term (ταπεινοφροσύνη / ἐταπείνωσεν, Philippians 2:3, 2:8). Direct, intentional collision with Dogra Rajput izzat culture; taught as voluntary Christlike self-giving from strength and love, never imposed degradation or low caste/status.
Obedient Unto Death
Approved rendering: मरने तगर आज्ञा मन्नने आह्
Transliteration: marne tagar aagya mannne aah
Doctrine: Humility of Christ
Original: ὑπήκοος μέχρι θανάτου
Category: Christology
New term (Philippians 2:8). Christ’s own filial obedience to the Father’s redemptive plan — the ground of, not an instance of, the baseline obedience_of_faith doctrine (a believer’s faith-produced obedience).
Highly Exalted
Approved rendering: सारें थमां उप्पर उच्चा कीता
Transliteration: saren thamah uppar uccha kita
Doctrine: Exaltation of Christ
Rejected alternatives: ordinary ‘honored’ or ‘praised’ language (loses the compound’s intensification)
Original: ὑπερύψωσεν
Category: Christology
New term (ὑπερύψωσεν, Philippians 2:9). Must not be diminished to ordinary praise language; matches the totality of Christ’s preceding self-humbling.
Every Knee Shall Bow
Approved rendering: हर गोडा टेकेगा
Transliteration: har goda tekega
Doctrine: Lordship of Christ
Rejected alternatives: generic devotional bowing compatible with pluralistic worship of multiple deities
Original: πᾶν γόνυ κάμψῃ
Category: Christology
New term (Philippians 2:10). Homage owed exclusively to Christ as God; distinguished from boon-seeking devotional bowing/prostration performed before images at Vaishno Devi or Raghunath Mandir darshan.
Confess Jesus Is Lord
Approved rendering: मन्नेगी ते कहेगी
Transliteration: mannegi te kahegi
Doctrine: Confession of Christ as Lord
Original: ἐξομολογήσηται … κύριος Ἰησοῦς Χριστός
Category: Christology
New term (Philippians 2:11). Must be rendered identically in wording to the Romans 10:9-10 salvation confession across the whole curriculum library.
Conformed To
Approved rendering: सांगी रूप बणना
Transliteration: sangi roop banna
Doctrine: Resurrection Hope
Original: σύμμορφος
Category: Eschatology
New term (σύμμορφος, Philippians 3:10, 3:21), deliberately reusing the रूप root family from 2:6-7 for literary coherence. Progressive, Spirit-wrought Christlikeness — not self-effort transformation or cyclical rebirth.
Working God
Approved rendering: परमेश्वर जेह्ड़ा तुसां दे अंदर कम्म करदा है
Transliteration: Parmeshwar jehda tusan de andar kamm karda hai
Doctrine: Providence
Rejected alternatives: किस्मत (fate, never use)
Original: ὁ ἐνεργῶν
Category: God
New term (ὁ ἐνεργῶν, Philippians 2:13) reusing the baseline providence root. Never किस्मत; personal, purposive divine activity grounding both 1:6 and 2:12’s imperative.
Fellowship Of The Spirit
Approved rendering: पवित्तर आत्मा दी संगत
Transliteration: pavittar aatma di sangat
Doctrine: Fellowship of the Holy Spirit
Rejected alternatives: generic spiritual camaraderie, e.g. shrine-gathering or communal mela devotion
Original: κοινωνία πνεύματος
Category: Unity and Humility
New combination of two baseline-reused roots (Philippians 2:1). Must be taught specifically as fellowship produced by the indwelling, personal Holy Spirit, never generic religious camaraderie.
Empty Conceit
Approved rendering: खाली हऊमे
Transliteration: khali haume
Doctrine: Selfish Ambition and Vainglory
Original: κενοδοξία
Category: Unity and Humility
New term (κενοδοξία, Philippians 2:3), deliberately word-played by Paul against κενόω in 2:7. हऊमे carries prominent Sikh theological resonance (ego overcome through Naam-meditation); must not import Sikh ego-dissolution as the implied solution — Paul’s answer is Christlike humility (2:5-8), not meditative technique.
Mindset
Approved rendering: सोच रक्खणा
Transliteration: soch rakkhna
Doctrine: Christlike Mindset
Original: φρονέω
Category: Unity and Humility
New term (φρονέω), the signature Philippians word occurring 10 times (1:7; 2:2 x2; 2:5; 3:15 x2, 19; 4:2, 10 x2). Must be rendered IDENTICALLY at every occurrence to preserve the recurring literary and theological thread linking the unity appeal to Christ’s own mindset (2:5).
Servant Self Designation
Approved rendering: दास
Transliteration: das
Doctrine: Servant Identity in Christ
Original: δοῦλος
Category: Church
New term (δοῦλος, Philippians 1:1). Paul and Timothy’s voluntary, honorific self-identification as Christ’s bondslaves; same izzat-honor collision as form_of_a_servant (2:7), intentional and instructive — a paradoxical honor, not a demeaning social label.
Acceptable Sacrifice
Approved rendering: सुगन्ध सारगी, प्रवान होई गेई बलिदान
Transliteration: sugandh sarga, parvan hoi gei balidan
Doctrine: Sacrificial Giving and Service
Rejected alternatives: puja-style offering (dhoop/naivedya/aarti) presented to secure or maintain divine favor
Original: ὀσμὴ εὐωδίας, θυσία δεκτή, εὐάρεστος τῷ θεῷ
Category: Partnership
New term (ὀσμὴ εὐωδίας, θυσία δεκτή, εὐάρεστος τῷ θεῷ, Philippians 4:18). Old Testament sacrificial-offering language applied to the Philippians’ gift; must rest explicitly on Christ’s finished, once-for-all sacrifice, not repeatable ritual merit.
Poured Out Libation
Approved rendering: डोल्हे गेदे चढ़ावे सारगा वग्गाया जाना
Transliteration: dolhe gede chadhave sarga vaggaya jana
Doctrine: Sacrificial Giving and Service
Original: σπένδομαι
Category: Joy and Suffering
New term (σπένδομαι, Philippians 2:17). Paul’s possible martyrdom framed as a joyful sacrificial offering; same puja-offering caution as acceptable_sacrifice — must be taught as Paul’s willing self-giving already resting on Christ’s completed sacrifice, not a repeatable ritual that itself procures merit.
Sacrifice And Service
Approved rendering: बलिदान ते सेवा
Transliteration: balidan te seva
Doctrine: Sacrificial Giving and Service
Original: θυσία καὶ λειτουργία
Category: Partnership
New term (θυσία καὶ λειτουργία, Philippians 2:17, 2:25). बलिदान also describes the regionally venerated Baba Jitto folk-martyrdom; explicit distinguishing note required — this is sacrificial service, not the unique atoning sacrifice, which belongs to Christ alone.
Joy
Approved rendering: खुशी
Transliteration: khushi
Doctrine: Joy in Suffering and Imprisonment
Rejected alternatives: transactional happiness of a mannat-fulfillment wish granted at Vaishno Devi, happiness contingent on favorable circumstance
Original: χαρά / χαίρω
Category: Joy and Suffering
New term (χαρά / χαίρω), a genuinely new guardrail for this curriculum with no Romans-baseline precedent — keynote word occurring roughly 16 times across Philippians. Must always be anchored to its ground (‘in the Lord,’ ‘because of the gospel’), never left unqualified.
Bonds Imprisonment
Approved rendering: कैद
Transliteration: qaid
Doctrine: Imprisonment as Gospel Advance
Original: δεσμοί / δεσμός
Category: Joy and Suffering
New term (δεσμός/δεσμοί, Philippians 1:7, 1:13-14, 1:17). In Dogra Rajput izzat culture, imprisonment is a marker of deep dishonor; Paul’s reframing as gospel-advancing directly confronts this instinct and must not be softened into a merely neutral ‘difficulty.‘
Fellowship Of Sufferings
Approved rendering: मसीह दे दुखां च साझ
Transliteration: Masih de dukhan ch saajh
Doctrine: Participation in Christ’s Sufferings
Original: κοινωνία [τῶν] παθημάτων αὐτοῦ
Category: Joy and Suffering
New term (κοινωνία [τῶν] παθημάτων αὐτοῦ, Philippians 3:10). Must be distinguished from a karma-based suffering framework (impersonal retribution for past-life action); willing, meaningful participation joined to resurrection hope, not a fate passively endured.
Pressing On Prize Goal
Approved rendering: पिच्छा करना / ईनाम / निशाना
Transliteration: piccha karna / inaam / nishana
Doctrine: Pressing on toward the Goal in Christ
Original: διώκω / βραβεῖον / σκοπός
Category: Perseverance
New term family (διώκω / βραβεῖον / σκοπός, Philippians 3:12-14). ईनाम (‘prize’) must remain firmly subordinate to the grace guardrail established at 3:9 — the goal of a grace-given, faith-appropriated life in Christ, not a merit earned by the pursuit itself.
Mature Perfect
Approved rendering: पूरे तरीके कन्नै सयाणे
Transliteration: poore tarike kannai sayane
Doctrine: Christian Maturity
Rejected alternatives: सिद्ध (siddha — the North Indian yogic/tantric term for a spiritually ‘perfected being’ with supernatural powers/siddhis; NEVER use)
Original: τέλειος
Category: Perseverance
New term (τέλειος, Philippians 3:15). Christian maturity is ongoing, relational Christlikeness, not attainment of yogic perfection or supernatural power.
Peace Surpassing Understanding
Approved rendering: जेह्ी समझ थमां बड्डी ऐ
Transliteration: jehi samajh thamah vaddi ai
Doctrine: The Peace of God
Original: ἡ εἰρήνη τοῦ θεοῦ ἡ ὑπερέχουσα πάντα νοῦν
Category: Contentment
New term (ἡ εἰρήνη τοῦ θεοῦ ἡ ὑπερέχουσα πάντα νοῦν, Philippians 4:7), reusing the ὑπερέχω/peace roots. Must be distinguished from psychological calm attainable through one’s own meditative or yogic technique; this peace guards the heart and mind rather than being produced by the mind’s own discipline.
Strengthens Me
Approved rendering: सामर्थ दिन्दा ऐ
Transliteration: samarth dinda ai
Doctrine: Contentment in All Circumstances
Rejected alternatives: शक्ति (goddess-power, never use)
Original: ἐνδυναμοῦντι
Category: Contentment
New term (ἐνδυναμοῦντι, Philippians 4:13), reusing the baseline power_of_god सामर्थ root. This is the Christ-dependence that directly answers the content_self_sufficient guardrail; must always be taught paired with 4:11-12, never quoted in isolation — guards against prosperity-gospel proof-texting of 4:13 alone, a widely circulating pattern in regional Hindi satellite preaching.
Medium Risk Terms
Law
Approved rendering: व्यवस्था
Transliteration: vyavastha
Doctrine: Righteousness by Faith versus the Law
Rejected alternatives: धरम (avoid Dogra Rajput lineage-duty associations)
Original: νόμος
Category: Covenant
Inherited from Romans package. Never धरम, given Dogra Rajput lineage-duty associations, especially Philippians 3:5-6, 9.
Church
Approved rendering: कलीसिया
Transliteration: kalisiya
Doctrine: Church as God’s People
Rejected alternatives: मंदर (temple, e.g. Raghunath Mandir/Bahu Fort, never use)
Original: ἐκκλησία
Category: Church
Inherited from Romans package. Never मंदर. Presupposed by the church-office address of Philippians 1:1.
Apostle
Approved rendering: भेजेआ होया
Transliteration: bhejea hoya
Doctrine: Apostleship
Rejected alternatives: दूत (generic messenger, too weak)
Original: ἀπόστολος
Category: Church
Inherited from Romans package. In Philippians 2:25 used in its looser ‘your messenger’ sense for Epaphroditus, not the Twelve’s unique apostolic office.
Peace
Approved rendering: शान्ति
Transliteration: shanti
Doctrine: Peace with God
Original: εἰρήνη
Category: Salvation
Inherited from Romans package. Philippians 4:7’s ‘peace which surpasses understanding’ must not be reheard as psychological calm attainable through meditative or yogic technique — see peace_surpassing_understanding below.
Intercession
Approved rendering: बिचाल्ले होइयै बिनती
Transliteration: bichalle hoiyai binti
Doctrine: Prayer and Intercession
Original: δέησις
Category: Faith
Inherited from Romans package. Philippians 4:6: direct, unmediated access to God, distinguished from mediated petitionary practice at a shrine.
Israel
Approved rendering: इस्राएल
Transliteration: Israel
Doctrine: Unity of Jews and Gentiles
Original: Ἰσραήλ
Category: Covenant
Inherited from Romans package. Philippians 3:5 lists ‘the people of Israel’ among the pedigree items Paul renounces as a ground of righteousness before God; this is not a devaluing of ethnic Israel itself.
Outward Fashion
Approved rendering: बाहरी दिखणा
Transliteration: bahri dikhna
Doctrine: Humanity of Christ
Original: σχῆμα
Category: Christology
New term (σχῆμα, Philippians 2:7-8). Distinct from μορφή (essential nature); must not be over-read as implying mere appearance without underlying reality (docetism) — pair with likeness_of_men.
Selfish Ambition
Approved rendering: खुद-गरजी
Transliteration: khud-garzi
Doctrine: Selfish Ambition and Vainglory
Original: ἐριθεία
Category: Unity and Humility
New term (ἐριθεία, Philippians 1:17, 2:3). Self-seeking rivalry, the opposite motive to Christlike self-giving.
Esteem Others As Greater
Approved rendering: बड्डा समझणा
Transliteration: badda samajhna
Doctrine: Regarding Others as More Important than Oneself
Original: ὑπερέχω
Category: Unity and Humility
New term (ὑπερέχω, Philippians 2:3-4; root recurs at 4:7). Directly challenges Dogra Rajput izzat rank-consciousness; must not be softened into generic politeness.
Compassion And Mercy
Approved rendering: मन दी करुणा ते दया
Transliteration: man di karuna te daya
Doctrine: Unity and Humility in the Church
Original: σπλάγχνα καὶ οἰκτιρμοί
Category: Unity and Humility
New term (σπλάγχνα καὶ οἰκτιρμοί, Philippians 2:1). Must not collapse into the baseline grace compound (बिना कमाई दित्ती दया); keep this occurrence clearly about human-to-human tenderness, not soteriological grace.
Overseer
Approved rendering: कलीसिया दे निगरान
Transliteration: kalisiya de nigran
Doctrine: Church Leadership Offices
Original: ἐπίσκοπος
Category: Church
New term (ἐπίσκοπος, Philippians 1:1). Must not be confused with a temple priest (पुजारी) role; flag for confirmation against the BSI Dogri Bible for a possibly already-settled single-word rendering.
Deacon
Approved rendering: कलीसिया दा सेवक
Transliteration: kalisiya da sevak
Doctrine: Church Leadership Offices
Original: διάκονος
Category: Church
New term (διάκονος, Philippians 1:1). सेवा/सेवक resonates with Sikh sewa (selfless gurdwara service); teach explicitly as a formally recognized church office, not generic volunteerism.
Partnership In The Gospel
Approved rendering: खरी खबर च साझ
Transliteration: khari khabar ch saajh
Doctrine: Partnership in the Gospel
Original: κοινωνία εἰς τὸ εὐαγγέλιον
Category: Partnership
New term, elevated beyond the baseline fellowship entry’s general Low-risk sense. Conveys mutual giving-and-receiving in gospel work (Philippians 1:5, 1:7, 4:14-15), not one-directional charity. साझ is not yet attested in current Dogri Christian usage; gloss on first occurrence in each document.
Giving And Receiving
Approved rendering: दिन्ना ते लैना
Transliteration: dinna te laina
Doctrine: Mutual Giving and Receiving
Original: δόσις καὶ λῆμψις
Category: Partnership
New term (δόσις καὶ λῆμψις, Philippians 4:15). Commercial/accounting metaphor reinforcing gospel partnership as a real, mutual, material relationship, not one-directional almsgiving.
Think On Consider
Approved rendering: इनां गल्लां गी सोचदे रओ
Transliteration: inan gallan nu sochde rao
Doctrine: Christian Maturity
Original: λογίζεσθε
Category: Contentment
New term (λογίζεσθε, Philippians 4:8). Etymologically linked to the baseline imputed_righteousness reckoning root but carries no independent doctrinal risk in this context.
Rubbish Dung
Approved rendering: कचरा
Transliteration: kachra
Doctrine: The Supreme Worth of Knowing Christ
Original: σκύβαλα
Category: Covenant
New term (σκύβαλα, Philippians 3:8). Formal register should not sanitize this into a mild ‘less important,’ but coarse vulgarity should also be avoided; flag for native-speaker confirmation of the strongest acceptable formal-register equivalent.
Enemies Of The Cross Belly
Approved rendering: क्रूस दे बैरी / जिंदे लोकां दा परमेश्वर पेट ऐ
Transliteration: kroos de bairi / jinde lokan da Parmeshwar pet ai
Doctrine: Enemies of the Cross
Original: ἐχθροὶ τοῦ σταυροῦ / ὧν ὁ θεὸς ἡ κοιλία
Category: Sin
New term (ἐχθροὶ τοῦ σταυροῦ / ὧν ὁ θεὸς ἡ κοιλία, Philippians 3:18-19). Preserve the vivid polemical hyperbole (appetite functionally worshiped as a god) rather than flattening into a mild moral warning; rhetorical, not a literal deity-claim.
Low Risk Terms
Fellowship
Approved rendering: संगत
Transliteration: sangat
Doctrine: Christian Fellowship
Rejected alternatives: यारी-दोस्ती (casual friendship, too weak)
Original: κοινωνία
Category: Church
Inherited from Romans package for the general shared-life sense. In Philippians, bare संगत risks being heard as the Sikh gurdwara congregational assembly (its primary regional sense); always qualify as मसीही संगत or पवित्तर आत्मा दी संगत. See partnership_in_the_gospel and fellowship_of_the_spirit below for elevated Philippians-specific senses.
Thanksgiving
Approved rendering: धन्नवाद
Transliteration: dhannvaad
Doctrine: Thanksgiving
Original: εὐχαριστία
Category: Faith
Inherited from Romans package. Standard usage in Philippians 1:3-4 and 4:6.
Exhort
Approved rendering: हौसला देना
Transliteration: hausla dena
Doctrine: Mutual Edification

United In Soul
Approved rendering: एक जान होइयै
Transliteration: ek jaan hoiyai
Doctrine: Unity and Humility in the Church
Original: σύμψυχος
Category: Unity and Humility

Doctrine: General
Original: παραβολευσάμενος τῇ ψυχῇ
